Annie did not really know where anything was or what was going on around her. From the moment the team had landed in Sokovia there had been nothing but trouble. An almost smoke like covering of trouble and chaos and Annie wasn't even sure where about she was in the city. Only that as she stood there she felt things rumble before the part of earth she was stood on started to rise into the air. The surrounding area around her also rising into the air as they could not prevent whatever it was that Ultron had planned. Annie was on the look out trying to find any one who was currently still there alive and human, hoping that Wanda's telekinesis had stopped anyone who was presently there from staying. That they had evacuated everyone as the plan was. But she knew every plan had a flaw.
"You get hurt, hurt them back. You get killed, walk it off." Captain Roger's voice bounced through the communicators they had all once again been forced to wear. Annie was happy to at least hear some of the teams voices through the communicator but the words were not the most comforting. Nor was the knowledge that for now that Tony did not know how to safely lower the floating city.
Annie had not seen any of the others in person for a little while now and as she ducked for a breather of running around the collapsing buildings she tried to probe for the one mind link she knew was intact. Just to at least check in on one person as she was sure the others were not up for a casual little conversation over the communication system at the present moment.
'Clint' She voiced down the link waiting just a few moments for a response she knew was coming quickly.
'Annie where are you?'
'Fuck knows, are you okay?' Annie's words were accurate as she looked around her the street not looking too dissimilar to the others she had been down she was very much lost in the flying ruins of Sokovia.
'Yeah I've got the girl with me, I'll come find you.' His words were full of promise though Annie knew that it would be much harder than either of them thought to find one another in that moment in time.
'Stay safe, I'll see you shortly.' She ended the conversation before heading back out of where she had stopped in an effort to find the others and actually be of help rather than just catching the off shot robots of which had lost their way from the main battle. And as she ran off into the unknown distance Clint's chances of finding her any time soon were also decreasing.
He had his own problem in that moment to deal with. He had found a hiding Wanda in one of the buildings that looked like it was teetering on remaining upright. They had been overwhelmed by robots as she remained standing there and he acted quickly to get them both to safety. Seeing in her what he had once seen in Annie when they had first started to work together and she had seen what kind of strange abnormalities they encountered as SHIELD agents. She was a young slightly naive mutant who was still scared of her own mutations. And he knew he couldn't leave her there to lose a battle even when he wasn't her biggest fan. Also Annie would have his head if she heard that he had left her to be overwhelmed by robotic soldiers.
"Hey, hey, you okay?" He asked her looking directly at her far away expression. It took Wanda a little while to even notice he was speaking to her and Clint cursed himself for always getting into this situations.
"This is all our fault." She responded and he had to fight the urge to roll his eyes. Surely it wasn't exactly entirely her fault but she did not help make the situation better. None of them had exactly helped to make the situation better.
"Hey, look at me. It's your fault, it's everyone's fault, who cares. Are you up for this? Are you? Look, I just need to know, cause the city is flying. Okay, look, the city is flying, we're fighting an army of robots, and I have a bow and arrow. None of this makes sense. But I'm going back out there because it's my job. Okay? And I can't do my job and babysit. It doesn't matter what you did, or what you were. If you go out there, you fight, and you fight to kill. Stay in here, you're good, I'll send your brother to come find you, but if you step out that door, you are an Avenger." Wanda looked as though she would not respond.
"You'll find him?" She asked as though she didn't believe him.
"I have many people to find what's one more to add to the list." He shrugged as he spoke and the young woman looked at him confused. "Well I'm pretty sure one of my girlfriends just broke up with me and the other is running around like a nutcase. No doubt one of them will have found your brother in the mean time." And with that he headed out and back to the battlefield. "Nice chat."
