Chapter 3: The Plaza

What the... Leo thought... I thought she couldn't even walk!

He continued to stare at the glass door sitting ajar after a certain brunette had run through. His hands slipped into his tool belt and came out with two bits of wires, which he thumbed through his fingers rhythmically. He blinked and then realized if he didn't go after her now he might never find her, and so with a small chuckle he ran out.

...

Leo's face was hot and his body was sticky from the sun's heat flowing over him. He had run all over the school hoping he could find Quinn and get her to come with him, all while 3 questions ran through his mind.

1. How does she know who I am?

2. Why is she so against going to Camp Half-Blood?

3. And why is she so good at hiding?

The school was shaped like a huge closed circle with all the buildings around the edges emptying into the middle. When Quinn had run out of the theatre, she had to have gone into the "plaza" of the school, yet she was nowhere to be found. He had gone all around the school's premises but all the doors seemed to be locked, and there was no way over or under them. So, she had to be here, right? he thought.

Looking out the windows, Leo saw that the sun was going down, and that was not going to be easier to find her, providing, of course, she was still even here. He huffed, defeated, and set his mind on a way to get out of the school and hope the chariot he borrowed was in one piece.

He took a heavy step forward as he heard a defiant shrill behind him. He spun around, eyes open wide trying to find the source of the noise, but the plaza was as desolate as it was a minute ago, growing darker every second. Leo felt unsure, because now it was getting harder and harder to see with the natural light fading from the windows, and the electricity is off, so it didn't make it easier.

On pure intuition, he sprinted towards his right, and headed into the shadowy cluster of classrooms. Leo fumbled to find a switch, his hand rubbing against the walls in the large rooms. Finally, he located the light switch and flipped it up, instantly illuminating the classroom.

His breath was sucked away as he saw a gagged Quinn tied to file cabinet. Her eyes were wet at the corners with pained shoulders that were bound around the sides of the cabinet. And horrifyingly, long cuts coated her face and arm as she stared at Leo.
