I resist the urge to swear as I pull Riptide from my pocket and start slashing, it's not half way through the slash that I wonder what they are and how I kill them, I just keep slashing. Each one disintigrates as the blade passes through and leaves a black mist in the air and that's what makes them special I muse as I realize that I can't breath in the cloud so I back away.

As I back away they approach and soon I'm surrounded with no choice than to fight and possibly suffocate though I always have my powers right? Can always do it the easy way? Yeah not unless I want to have a panic attack right there.

Flashback

It was a few years after Chaos and Order adopted me, it was all good, everything was great. Which is why I should have seen it coming I guess, I wasn't waiting for the other foot to drop as it always does, I got cocky, using my powers to do everything. That's what got me captured on Ramsayes (a planet in the fluorescent galaxy) where everyone has powers in one of 3 distinctions: mental, dark or light, I was sent to make sure the queen's husband stayed safe, it went very wrong very fast.

The first day I already failed, the king snuck out to send a letter and was spotted without me, of course I was using my powers to watch him but the queen demanded that I watch him myself so I did...it only took 3 days for that to fail. There was a rebel group who wanted all 3 powers avaliable to the public since you were taught your power and could have all 3. What the queen didn't know was that her husband was part of the rebels.

He lured me away by telling me that I could use my powers to watch him while I watched his son (Only a month old at the time) in person, of course being the arrogant person that I was I accepted and a few hours later when he said that  a group of rebels were at the door I didn't think twice about killing them with my powers and neither did he. I watched as each dropped thanks to the poison in the air and didn't that I poisoned the queen's guards, all because I trusted my powers, misused them.

The king expertly also hid his 4 year old daughter there, effectively wiping out the bloodline of females, I was there to watch the planet's females be wiped out in cruel ways all because I trusted my powers and was completely detached to killing them with them. It was a week later that the king attacked me, bottled some of the poison I released and poisoned his wife, I was the cause for an entire gender's fall in a planet and subsequently the entire planet.

Afterwards I promised myself never again would I ever use my powers to kill, become detached. I will kill them with a sword and dagger, no powers

end of flashback

So as my sword tore through flesh and bone and left stinging poison behind I  was reminded of those women I killed. Anger fueled me like high octane fuel and soon I was somersaulting out of the cloud and into my team as we worked. We diminished the dragons slowly but they all stood still as we killed them, not fighting back at all which unnerved us all until Jason shouted at me to look from a bird's eye view, he looked horrified and confused.

From the sky I saw it, a black dragon of smokey poison with black flames pouring out of it's mouth with a number one in the flames. First warning.
