Bailey

I sat on my windowsill in my room, looking at Misty our cat play in the grass.

I look back at the book in my hand. The maze runner, it was an old copy, one I had read multiple times but never got tired of. I guess I related to it in someways. Being taken away from my family and put in a new environment with new people. But at least I still had my memories unlike Newt and Thomas.

But my peace was interrupted when Justin knocked on my door. 

"Cass, can I come in. We have news" He says

"Sure" I call out climbing off the windowsill and sitting on my blue rug. Justin enters the room.

"So you know how we've had some inspections around here?" He questions

"Yeah" I nod, they were very boring and we had to be on our absolute best behaviour.

"Well, they've decided that since we're not in any danger of closing down for a while they want us to merge with another care home, from England that will be arriving tonight."

"And you want us to make them feel welcome?" I question.

"A little more then that, you see. A few of you may have to share rooms for the first couple of days. Just whilst they get settled in then they'll all have their own rooms."

"Why can't they have their rooms straight away" I ask.

"Because some of them are not in a state to be used yet, since they've been empty for so long." Justin replies nervously.

I know their isn't much point in arguing so I give in. 

"Who will I be sharing a room with?"

"A girl called Cordelia-Courtney? I think" he says trying to read a piece of paper in his hand.  I nod.

"You have it better then Zach and Avery though, there are more of them then us so some of us have to double up, with extra mattress and pillows. The two care workers will get their own rooms straight away though" He smiles.

I try reading the list in his hand.

I'd be sharing with this Cordelia-Courtney? But at least unlike Avery I wouldn't have to deal with two new roommates. I looked besides her name it said Tee and Carmen. Then Zach had Liam and Gus, whilst Raven was with Elektra. Shay had a blank space near her name which was probably for the best. Peyton would share with Alfie and Corey would be sharing with Johnny who had the same last name as Tee, they were probably related.

• At the airport •

Tracy tried rounding up Carmen, Tee, Alfie, CeCe and Johnny into a cab, whilst Mike had successfully bribed Liam, Gus, Elektra and Frank into joining him in a minivan.

As they drove off they stared at the sights around them. 

"Is this what America looks like, cause I could get used to this" Alfie says
