♡ Chapter One ♡

Have you ever despised someone you did not exactly know why? This is the case for Natsuki. She hates her fellow club member known as Yuri. Yuri is shy. She is like a thorny purple rose but can be as soft as a lily. Long positioned lavender hair that falls low with a mature female figure. Yuri is the opposite of Natsuki. A third-year at a usual Japanese high school, named Otonokizaka High School. Pink as cherry blossoms her hair is and Natsuki is a flower waiting to bloom but she remains to who she is... due to being afraid of showing people the real her.

In fact, Natsuki did not really get why she hated Yuri so much. Sure, she can be overly shy but is that truly a dislike trait? Yuri can be defensive when it comes to criticisms and believes she is more than Natsuki, however, is that something to hate someone over? Maybe, Natsuki is just complete opposite people or rather some people do not just mix.

Today was Thursday of the week where students keep thinking about Friday instead of Thursday.

Natsuki sat at the back of the room while reading some manga. "Ugh, why am I even thinking about her?" Natsuki thought as she looks over to Yuri who was happily chatting to Monika. Natsuki's small mouth opens slightly at the sight of Yuri not being shy as she chatted to Monika. The way Yuri beams in the sunlight as her eyes glistened in the sunshine. She tucks her long purple strings her behind her ear as she closed her eyes chuckling. Natsuki's heart fluttered at Yuri as she lowers her manga slightly in confusion while looking at Yuri. Yuri finished her conversation with Monika and her eyes wandered backwards making eye contact with Natsuki for a second. Natsuki panics and puts her face in her manga with her face going bright red. "Oh shoot, I think she saw me..."

Yuri walks over to Sayori as she held her poem in her hand. "Fuck..." Natsuki mumbles before Monika approaches her holding a poem too.

"Um, Natsuki. It is time to share poems! Hehe, didn't you hear me?" Monika asks before giggling at her being aware that she was probably daydreaming about something or someone even.

Natsuki goes pink in embarrassment. "Did Yuri really cloud my thoughts? ...she is annoying..." Natsuki wondered before going into her bag to get her poem that she wrote with a word. "I hate her..."

Monika notices Natsuki was in deep thought about something and decided to question her. "Is something on your mind?" she asks kindly as she approached her.

Natsuki got defensive, "What's it to you?! Anyway, here my poem," she says shoving the poem in Monika's face. "Ugh... Monika wouldn't understand..."

"Thank you," Monika mumbles as Natsuki's poem was in her face. She takes it off her face before rubbing her eyes. She began reading Natsuki's poem.

Lesson Learnt

The pink ball slowly rolls towards my feet,
as the sand beneath it flies up into the air.

I pick up the ball and look over at the child.
"Hello," I say wanting to make friends.

The child snatches the ball from me before running off.
I look at her as I realise, she was running to her friend.

That is when I learned people are cruel.

Monika smiles as she replies, "Well, this is quite different from your other poems!"

Natsuki growls at Monika. She folds her arms and looks away, annoyed at Monika. "Yeah, whatever. My hand was in too much pain to write a long one. Just give me your poem," she orders and Monika complies.

"Oh, I wonder why that is..." Monika responds as Natsuki starts reading Monika's poem.

Different Realities

A blind gaze
A broken rhythm
A bag full of sorrows

Are the habits that I cannot crack

Look at me see inside the crack of me
Then rip me into pieces code by code
For no one to find me alive
Then you walk away

In your reality
While I stay in a broken reality

"It was alright, I guess," Natsuki responded with now handing back her poem. Her eyes wandered over Yuri and Sayori talking. Monika suddenly pats her head. "HEY! Get off!" she complains as Monika laughs at her.

"Sorry, I just find it cute checking you checking on Yuri!" Monika says noticing how to see she keeps looking over at Yuri.

Natsuki blushes in embarrassment, "I'm just making sure she goes nowhere near me!" she says defending herself. "Anyway, speaking of Yuri, your poem is strangely like hers," Natsuki tells her which called her out.

"I just thought of trying something different Natsuki and I thought of something a little morbid which is like Yuri's writing," Monika explains to Natsuki.

Natsuki growls and tells Monika, "Whatever I don't care!"

"Oh, that's a shame. Anyway, I am going to share with Sayori now!" Monika says wondering over to her.

Natsuki quickly realised what this meant that meant she was sharing poems with Yuri now. Yuri approaches her. "H-Hey, Natsuki so are you ready-" Yuri says before Natsuki rudely interrupts her.

"Yeah, yes, whatever. Just give me your poem so we can get this finished," Natsuki says. Yuri sighs but reluctantly give Natsuki her poem.

The Kitten

It happens so suddenly yet so slowly
My purplish poisoned placid eyes caught the attention of the little kitten
I leisurely bend over and pick up the kitten, it was strangely endearing
The kitten got a little frightened, so it's draggers crawled into her making the blood drip down onto the sink
That's the first time I realised my actions were abnormal but that won't stop me having this kitten
I gave the kitten a piece of flesh from a fish and it eats it
I was unaware of the burden that I place upon myself
I'm well conscious that people might not admire my kitten
However, I kept feeding the kitten
With my cutting knives, I killed each fish before feeding it to the kitten
Each day the kitten becomes hungrier and greedier

The kitten meows to wake me up on this cold morning
I leisurely get out of bed frailty with my skin peelings off as the kitten tugs on my legs
I go into my kitchen to feed the kitten again with my cutting knife
The moody sunshine glistens the blade before cutting into the screaming fish
The same glisten that is in the kitten eyes as it meows demandingly at me

The kitten has taken to following me to where ever I go...
School or work or home
No matter what I do this stress reliever will not leave me

So, I cut open another fish and feed the kitten

"What's with this language?" Natsuki mumbles which made Yuri perk her head up.

Yuri turns her head slightly, "Sorry what was that?" she asks not hearing her.

Natsuki's face goes somewhat red in humiliation, "I said nothing!" she says rather carefully.

Yuri nervously brought her hand to her chest and glanced away. Her long-drawn inky purple hair covering one her lavender orbs slightly. "O-oh ok then...." She responded before they both hands back each other poems. "What can I say that won't upset her... she can be really defensive..."

"It's alright I guess but you didn't take any of my advice!" Natsuki tells her while putting her hands on her hips, showing her annoyance. "It's too complex and it's too-" Natsuki was about to rant on but Yuri decided she had enough.

She sighs heavily, "I did take your 'constructive criticism' into account... however I spent years exercising my writing style and I don't expect it to change any time soon. Unless, I come across something truly inspiring or if I want to challenge myself," Yuri says seriously standing her own ground for once which is unlike her for once. This caught Monika's and Sayori's attention.

Anger spread throughout Natsuki's body quickly like a deadly poison. "Y-Y-Y..." she says like she was debating to say 'Yuri' or 'you'. "You are a stuck up, Bitch!" Natsuki says pointing at as she takes a step back.

"I bet you didn't even take my advice either so stop being hypocrite, Natsuki," Yuri says bringing both arms to her chest as her hair flips back.

Natsuki smirks, "Well at least my advice is better than your Yuri. You don't need all of those fancy words!" she says defending herself.

"Our language has so many words for a reason, Natsuki!" Yuri says as her eyes widened. "It would be a shame not to use that."

Something snapped inside Natsuki. She could not control what she was about to say. "Oh, are books your only friends, Yuri? That is why you write so long, to fill up your day when others spend it with their fucking friends which you don't have!" she says smirking as she folded her arms and looks away. Yuri suddenly lets out a pitiful gasp as a blue tear falls from both of her eyes. She grips over to her hair as she looks away. Natsuki quickly noticed this and felt awful, "Yuri, I-" she says but Yuri suddenly bolted out of the clubroom.

Natsuki turns towards Monika and Sayori helpless. "Um... she will back, just give her some space," Monika says more towards Sayori than Natsuki. "And Natsuki I think you owe her something."

"Yeah... maybe you are right..." Natsuki responded now feeling like a raincloud. She goes over to her closet to get her manga. "Why did I say that?" She thought before getting a volume out and sitting down. "She just got on my nerves so much... I like I wanted to have a normal debate but things just got of hand... Why did I make fun of her being a loner? I cannot say much for myself... my only friend is really Sayori and maybe Monika... I owe for an apology."

After a couple of minutes, Yuri still has not returned. Monika noticed this and was about to go after Yuri. She was about to slide open the door but Yuri was suddenly there.

"Oh, hey, Yuri! I was about to come to find you," Monika says a little bit shocked.

Yuri fiddles with her hair nervously, "Oh sorry, I didn't mean to cause much concern..." she replies shyly as she trembled.

"Oh hey, you are back Yuri!" Sayori says a little excitedly as she eyed Natsuki who was just looking out of the window. Natsuki is just looking off into the view.

After Sayori and Monika chatted to Yuri for a bit, they each realised Yuri was not up for some conversation so she went over to sit at the front of the class away from Natsuki. Natsuki looks over at her and feels bad. "She normally sits near the back... did I really upset her?" she thought as she stood up and went over to Yuri who was reading. "Ugh, why am I doing this?" She approached Yuri. "Hey, Yuri listen about that I said-" Natsuki says but her eyes quickly locked onto her hand and there were about three cuts showing. Yuri quickly pulled down her sleeve. "Wait, what's that?" she asks.

Yuri smiles, "Ah, it's fine Natsuki!" she says looking up at her still sitting down.

"You-?" Natsuki was about to ask.

"Next time, I'll take into more consideration of your advice," Yuri says interrupting her.

Natsuki looks again at her arm but this time Yuri was covering it up. Natsuki face goes slightly pale like she wanted to throw up. "But-" she spoke.

Yet again Yuri interrupt her, "How about we write our poems on the same subject? Like scenery? Then share our thoughts and opinions?" she recommends now standing up quickly making her chair screech across the cold wooden floor.

Natsuki gave up, "I guess that could work. I never really written about scenery before," she says folding her arms.

"How about the sky?" Yuri recommends.

Natsuki tilts her head, "Isn't that a little basic for your tastes?" she asks knowing that Yuri likes to write about other things.

"I don't believe the sky is basic, Natsuki. Sure, it may seem that way but if you look deeper there may be many mysterious," Yuri responds with sounding really interested more than usual.

Natsuki smiles slightly, "Sure, why not? It sounds easy anyway," she agrees.

"Wonderful," Yuri says rather excited to do this.

"...well Yuri just cut herself because of me... how bad or how long has been doing this for?" Natsuki thought as Yuri suddenly walks away to talk to Monika about something. "Wait no, come back!"

After a few minutes, it was time for everyone to pack up. Yuri starts packing up her large book away until Natsuki approaches her. "Hey, Yuri?" she asks not knowing what to say.

"Oh, what is it?" Yuri asks looking at her.

"Oh no... Think of something Natsuki!" Natsuki tells herself inside of her head as she stands there like an idiot. "I... Um... Want to walk home together?" she asks not knowing what to say with looking like a dork. However, she still looked like one.

Yuri was a bit taken back by this but nevertheless, she smiles sweetly towards Natsuki. "That was quite unexpected of you, Natsuki," she tells her as she raises her eyebrows.

Natsuki folds her arms, "Yeah, whatever... want to walk home with me or not?" she asks getting a bit impatient towards Yuri.

"Ok, we can. I don't see any reason we can't..." Yuri agrees while putting her bag on her shoulder.

Natsuki exhale, "Thank God..." she thought. "Wait... I just realised her poems are about her cutting herself... oh dear god... How did Monika not notice that? I get Sayori not picking it up but Monika... maybe she is not as smart as she seems... or maybe Yuri's writing is too complex...?"
