♡ Chapter Five ♡

Yesterday was a rough day for Natsuki. Seeing her friend in pain and not knowing how to help because they were not really friends. Natsuki made her way towards the clubroom, she was late. Natsuki was in the girls' bathroom for a while trying to calm herself down. However, will she be in there she realises her mark on her eye has bruised. "Hopefully it won't draw their attention too much... I can just say I fell over after all it is small," she thinks to try to make up an excuse.

She walks to the clubroom and opens the door. "Hey, guys!" Natsuki greets with a box of cupcakes in her arms. Natsuki looks around for Yuri to see her quietly reading.

"Oh hey, Natsuki. You are kind of late," Monika points out while smiling.

Natsuki puts down the box of cupcakes. "Not my fault I got caught up with stuff," she lies as she folds her arms.

Sayori suddenly appears by the cupcake box however due to Natsuki's reflexes she wipes the box away from Sayori. Sayori moans out, "Natsuki!" like a child as Natsuki protected her cupcakes.

"Sayori they are for later; they must go along Yuri's tea!" Natsuki proclaims as she looks over at Yuri trying to get her to join in on the conversation... but she just kept reading with her head down. She was fully engulfed in that book.

Monika raises an eyebrow, "Oh why is that?" she asks confused being aware they just fought yesterday.

"Oh, she has this cupcake tea thing. It's lovely she gave me some yesterday," Natsuki says smiling slightly.

Sayori beams, "Wow, that sounds amazing!" she says rather loudly as Yuri is still quiet reading her book.

"Hey, why isn't Yuri coming to talk to us?" Natsuki asks quietly to the two of them.

Monika giggles and tilts her head, "She has always been like that, she's shy," she explains patting Natsuki head.

"O-oh, I guess I never really noticed," Natsuki mumbles looking over to Yuri as her eyes stared into the book.

"Can we have the cupcakes and tea now?" Sayori asks excitedly.

"Let us get our poem sharing out of the way first. Ok, everyone time to share poems!" Monika calls out which made Yuri look up and put her book away.

Natsuki looks over at Yuri before walking towards her. "Hey, Yuri do you want to share poems?" she asks while scratching the back of her head.

Yuri came confused and happy by this. "Y-you came to me first?" she asks shocked as her eyes brightened. Natsuki usually came to her last because they did not really get along much. Yuri was aware of this but nevertheless did it hurt her feelings at first but she came used to it.

"So? We agreed to write on the same topic," Natsuki replies as her cheeks go slightly pinkish like cotton candy.

Yuri looks away slightly as sweat rolls down her forehead, "O-oh, y-yeah we did!" she says as smiles. She goes into her bag and pulls out her notebook for Natsuki before passing it. "Please enjoy... I-I did use some of your advice..."

Lavender Moon

The variant rays drown me as I bathe in its lavender lights like loyal mortals.
It glistens above me like candle wick that I light up to brighten the world full of these horrible mortals.
It hovers up the atmosphere staring down on me like an angel with the stars following it like adoring fans.
Unlike the moon, I don't have stars that live within the sky.

I simper cheerfully as I glance into the atmosphere that was a pleasant shade of a mixture of blue and red
The red is the tears of my pain
The blue is the head of my sorrows
The purple that is made is me.

I am its own creation.

Natsuki stops reading before handing back her notebook to Yuri. She takes it back while blushing slightly, "Sorry... it is a little short considering I was writing in a new style. Never mind that... Anyway... S-so... what do you think?" she asks a little too excited.

"It's different from what you normally write..." Natsuki says looking away blushing but Yuri took up her advice. "It's kind of like a mixture in between Monika's writing style and Sayori's emotion within it."

Yuri turns even redder as she turns to look Natsuki. "I guess I can see that..." Yuri agrees before asking, "D-do you like it?"

"Yuri I am going, to be honest..." Natsuki starts as Yuri looks away while fiddling with her hair. "...I kind of do."

Yuri widens her eyes in shock as she drops her hair, "Um, really?" she asks unsurely because they do not usually agree.

Natsuki nods, "Yeah, I do," she says in a serious which ensure Yuri that Natsuki was telling the truth. Yuri lets a sigh as she smiles. "But..." Natsuki starts which swelled Yuri with anxiety.

"But what? Is it the alliteration?" Yuri asks nervously.

"But I kind of prefer your normal writing style," Natsuki says putting her hand on her hip while smiling.

Yuri soul felt her body. "W-what? You said you hated it," she questioned really confused as she looks around the clubroom trying to find an answer or something.

"Eh... well I didn't hate hate it... but I guess I kind of like it when you be yourself... Not that I care or anything! Totally didn't make me realise it when I read that poem or anything!" Natsuki says loudly which draws Monika's attention who was sharing poems with Sayori.

Yuri goes pink when Natsuki says that. She turns away from Natsuki as she placed her hand on her own cheek because suddenly, she got warm. "T-thank you," Yuri says in a different tone of voice that Natsuki did not hear before. It was not mean and it was not sadness. It was sincerity with an underlayer of sweetness. It made Natsuki's heart flutter away like a butterfly.

"W-whatever, read my poem now," Natsuki stutters out before hanging her notebook, trying to change the subject.

Fluffy Clouds in The Sky

You are like a cloud

They are beautiful, elegant, cute, and pretty.
They rest upon the sky floating there for the world to admire it.

Yet it rains sometimes like your mind filled with sadness.
It can get messy and disturbing.

They can sometimes get stormy too and it scares me.
I always wonder when your storm is going to pass.

Sometimes they snow sharing their talent with the world.
It makes me happy.

However, your hideaway and the sky are clear.
It is boring and you brighten up my world even if you cause a shadow sometimes.

So please come out and play.

Yuri smiles slightly before handing the poem back to her, "I really like the meaning behind. It shows humans are able to have uncomfortable storms, sunshine, and rain. It's really physiological," she tells her which made Natsuki feel a little bit of proud of how Yuri describes it and gave it a deeper meaning.

"You make it sound better than it sounds," Natsuki says flustered as she takes back her poem.

"Nevertheless, I like it," Yuri says smiling slightly.

"Heh... thanks," she says with a bright face.

After conversating for a bit, they needed to share poems with everyone else. Natsuki goes over to Sayori. "Hey, Sayori," she greets as Sayori beams. "Let's just get this over with."

"Alright!" Sayori agrees handing over her poem to Natsuki.

Heart

I felt something empty inside...
It was not a wound because I was still alive.
It was not a sickness because the doctors say I am well.

What is this?

Hole in my heart?
I can never repair it...
I just need to make more space for more people!

"Loneliness?" Natsuki questioned picking on it straight away. She gave back her poem to Sayori.

Sayori smiles wistfully, "Yeah, it was kind of like the last poem you wrote with the ball," she responds. "However, this poem seems like it was made for someone. Who is it?"

Natsuki face goes slightly red, "Well... technically it is for Yuri because we agreed to write on the same subject which is the sky. However, it is not about Yuri," she lied.

"Oh, ok. I guess that makes sense. Either way, I like it," Sayori responds.

Natsuki folds her arms, "Thanks, I guess," she says.

"Hey, Natsuki. Have you noticed anything weird about Yuri? She seems more open today," Sayori says to her.

Natsuki rolls her eyes, "Not that I care or anything but isn't that a good thing?" she questions.

"I guess so... maybe I am just overthinking," Sayori responds before they departed to the next person.

Natsuki goes over to Monika, "Hey, Monika. Let us just share poems already," she says to her while pulling out her glittery pink notebook and passing it to Monika. However, she did not take it.

"Actually, I want to talk to you about something," Monika starts standing up straight.

Natsuki folds her arms, "Make it quick," she orders.

Monika chuckles slightly. "Well, you are actually awfully weird around Yuri. You have pointed out her behaviour which is normal for her. Did that fight make you open your third eye or something?" she questions Natsuki being aware that she was now forward towards Yuri after they had a fight.

"N-no," Natsuki answers unconvinced as she looks away.

"Are you sure about that?" Monika asks winking at her knowing she does.

Natsuki folds her arms before responding with, "Well, I might have learnt something about Yuri which she doesn't know I know..."

"Huh?" Monika asks concerned.

"It's none of your concern!" Natsuki says folding her arms and felt protective towards Yuri's secret. After all, Natsuki did not want to invade on Yuri's privacy because what would probably anger or upset her.

Monika frowned, "O-oh, Okie Doki then but now I am worried," she says looking over at Yuri who was shyly sharing poems with Sayori.

"Eh, I am sure she will be fine," Natsuki responds but in truth, she knows Yuri will be okay... for now... She is smart so Natsuki will trust her logic.

Confidence

Continue on, despite how you feel
overly engaging to show the other that is alright
never able to open up one's own third eye
fleeting away is no longer an option
illogical this reality is
dreaming for reason for this reality
everyday searching but to no conclusion
never going to come to a conclusion
closing this chapter isn't possible
either way, I wish this reality will come to an end

"So acoustic poem?" Natsuki questioned while folding her arms not wanting to really conversate with Monika any longer.

Monika chuckled, "Hehe, yes. I wanted to do something a little different," she explains.

"Whatever, I don't really care," Natsuki says handing back Monika's poem.

"Ouch, well see you later, Natsuki," Monika responds.

Natsuki walks over to Yuri and puts her hand on her hip. She needed to arrange a time so they can talk together about this issue. "H-hey, Yuri?" Natsuki asks nervously knowing how weird this is going to sound.

"Yes, Natsuki?" Yuri asks.

"Um..." Natsuki says rubbing the back of her head.

Natsuki expected Yuri to tell her to hurry up or something but she did not. She waits patiently awaiting what Natsuki was going to say. She did not seem annoyed or anything, just patient. Natsuki never has seen someone this patient before. Suddenly Yuri spoke, "Hey, what happened to your eye? There is a little bruise near your tear duct," she asks.

"Ah..." Natsuki utters out as sweat rolls down her face. "...I just walked into a door frame."

Yuri chuckled, "You are awfully clumsy," she stated bluntly with bright red cheeks.

"W-what is that supposed to mean?!" Natsuki shouts at her going pink.

Yuri points to her legs, "You bruises on your legs. You must fall over often unless it is from something else..." she questioned concerned.

"Y-yeah you are right," Natsuki lies while folding her arms.

Yuri noticed Natsuki how unusually agreed straight away with her which made her believe that was a lie. She decided not to question it because she was scared to get in another argument with her. "Want to fill up the water pitcher with me?" she asks.

"Isn't that a one-person job?" Natsuki wondered but nevertheless, she wanted to get to know Yuri better. "Sure, why not?" she agrees.

Yuri walks over to the closet to get her water pitcher out before returning to Natsuki. "Ready?" she asks with a blush on her face.

"Yep," Natsuki says as she followed Yuri towards the doors but suddenly stopped by Monika.

Monika smiles sweetly, "Where are you two going?" she asks wondering and being a bit intrusive. She moves closer to Yuri, especially this is because of what Natsuki told Monika.

"Oh, we are just going to fill up the water pitcher for Yuri's tea," Natsuki answers noting Yuri's expression of how uncomfortable she was.

Her green eyes narrowed slightly, "Isn't that a one-person job?" she asks wondering.

Yuri lets out a heavy sigh while she rubs her template with one hand while the other holds the water pitcher. "Monika, can you mind your own business for once?" she asks harshly as Monika's eyes opened in shock so does Natsuki's. Even Sayori's from the back of the room.

"O-oh..." Monika responds kind of upset.

"Hmph," Yuri says before grabbing Natsuki's hand and walking out of the clubroom. When they got out. Yuri suddenly puts her head against the wall as her hair covered her eyes. Her body shivered to show visible signs of distress, "Why did I say that?" she asks. Natsuki was not sure if she was asking her or herself.

"Um, Yuri?" Natsuki asks while reaching towards her.

Yuri suddenly snaps around with tears in her eyes, "I didn't mean it!" she shouts at Natsuki. She took a step back in shock of Yuri's sudden outburst. Natsuki's heartache of seeing Yuri this distressed.

"Is this what anxiety feels like for people like Yuri? It looks awful..." Natsuki wondered as she looked at Yuri who is wiping her eyes. Natsuki lets out a sigh, "Not that I care or anything but Monika was being a bit intrusive suddenly. If you did not say anything I would of have. You were just standing up for yourself and there is nothing wrong with that."

Yuri inhales sharply and exhales repeatedly. It seemed forced like she was trying to calm herself down. "Y-you sure?" she questioned.

"Yuri you got to stop caring of what people think. In your head, you are making it ten times worse. Monika is probably thinking of something like, 'Oh that was a bit weird of Yuri' and you are thinking Monika probably hates you," Natsuki explains while folding her arms.

Yuri gives a small smile that was still in pain, "Y-you certain that it is ok?" she asks still a bit unsure.

"Of course, I do. Anyway, let us forget about this and fill up the water pitcher?" Natsuki questions.

Yuri rubs her eyes again, "Sure, lets," she agrees. Natsuki and Yuri start to look for the nearest water fountain. When they found it, Yuri started to fill up the water pitcher silently. She seemed to be in deep thought. "Hey, Yuri what got you into tea?" she asks trying to get up a conversation.

"Well... my mother used to make me a cup of tea every morning to convince me to get up and go to school. This was years ago before she-" she cuts herself off as the water started overflowing. "-shit..." she mumbled while pouring some of the water out.

"You lost your mother?" Natsuki asks surprised.

Yuri sighs, "I really don't want to talk about it..." she says looking away.

"Oh... okay... I lost my mother too..." Natsuki mumbles.

"O-oh, sorry... I didn't know..." Yuri responds closing the lid of the water pitcher before turning to Natsuki.

Natsuki grinned bittersweetly, "W-well I suppose we aren't so different as we thought..." she states which made Yuri also smile bittersweetly.

"Well, yin and yang need each other to subsist together," Yuri states while blushing slightly.

Natsuki did not know what she meant but did not question it. "Want to head back?" she asks diverting the conversation.

"Sure," Yuri agrees while blushing slightly. The two started to make their way back to the club. Yuri goes over to the kettle and clicks the water pitcher in. She plugs the kettle in and takes out her 'cupcake' tea blend. She puts in the same amount in each of the four cupcakes. Natsuki goes over and gets the cupcakes out of the box before laying them next to the teacups to make them look fancy.

Sayori's eyes sparkled as Yuri started pouring the time. She carefully sneaks over to grab one of the cupcakes but Natsuki blocked her. "Sayori be patient!" she orders as Sayori frowned annoyed at not getting a cupcake.

Yuri starts pouring the tea in each of the cups which made the smell rise in the room as cupcakes. "Please let them cool or you'll burn your mouth," Yuri tells everyone which is mostly Sayori.

Each member took a cup of tea and started drinking.

"Woah, Yuri this is amazing. No wonder you like tea. I never drank something this close to food before!"
"Yuri this is amazing! Can you bring this in again?"
"I told you guys."

They all say to Yuri which made her slightly uncomfortable. She sets her tea down. "E-excuse me..." she says before rushing out of the clubroom.

"H-Huh?" Natsuki says as she watches Yuri rush out. Sayori grabs one of her cupcakes.

"She will be back. This isn't the first time she has done this," Sayori mentions before eating one of her cupcakes.

Natsuki was a bit taken back of this, "Really?" she asks surprised.

"Hehe," Monika giggled. "You didn't really pay much attention to Yuri until now."

"Has Yuri gone out to hurt herself again... Yuri, how did you make me feel like this?" Natsuki thought as she panicked inside like crazy before taking a bite out of her cupcake to remain calm. "So what?"

"It's just a bit strange," Monika says shrugging. Yuri suddenly gave back looking a bit pale.

"S-sorry just had to take a call," she explains as Natsuki gives her a concerned look.

Monika smiles, "It's fine, Yuri," she says ensuring her.

"A-alright," Yuri stutters out before taking one of Natsuki's cupcake. Natsuki stared at Yuri as she munched down onto the cupcake, it made Natsuki blush and excited for some reason. Yuri noticed Natsuki looking at her. "I-It's lovely, Natsuki."

"Heh, Thanks," Natsuki responds with and Yuri smiles sweetly at her.

After everyone was done eating and drinking. Yuri started to pack up her tea set before putting it away in the closet. Natsuki walks up to her while she was putting it away.

"Hey, Yuri. You want to hang out or something this weekend?" Natsuki asks her bluntly just wanting to get it over with. Yuri turns around after Natsuki said that. "To bake cupcakes or something?"

Yuri smiles, "Sure my place tomorrow afternoon?" she asks.

Natsuki lets out a sigh, "Thank god, she didn't recommend my place," she thought while knowing her papa did not like visitors and would be mean to Yuri which will not help the situation. "Yeah, sure why not. I'll buy the ingredients before coming to your house."

"That's a good idea, you know where I live now. Maybe we should exchange home numbers?" Yuri recommends as she pulls out her phone from her pocket.

Natsuki blushes slightly, "Yeah, sure," she agrees happily knowing she has Yuri number meant Yuri could be safer.

Yuri and Natsuki exchange numbers
which caught Monika's eye slightly. Then after they did the club ended.

"So, I'll see you tomorrow, Natsuki..." Yuri says to her.

Natsuki blushes when she replies with, "Y-yeah... see ya..."
