Y/N POV

I woke up to see Esdeath sleeping on my chest peacefully, making me smile. A few minutes later, Esdeath opened her eyes.

Esdeath: Morning, Love.

Y/N: Morning, Es. Ready to get to work?

Esdeath: Yep. We have a long day ahead of us. Let's make the most of it.

Y/N: Yeah.

Esdeath then got off of me and we kissed before she put her sleepwear back on and walked back into her room so she could change. I got up and changed into casual clothes since I didn't have to do anything kingly today. Today was a free day off, for the time being at least. Once I was dressed, I walked outside and saw Esdeath waiting for me.

Esdeath: Well, let's get going.

Y/N: *smiles* Right.

We then walked towards the palace doors to leave when the doors opened, revealing the General Of the Caroleans, Maria

Maria: Aw~, Esdeath, your majesty. How are you two?

Y/N: Please, you know you can all call me "Y/N". I don't mind at all and I'm doing wonderfully.

Maria: *giggles* I apologize, Y/N and I'm glad to hear that. How about you, Esdeath?

Esdeath: I'm doing wonderfully as well. I had the time of my life last night~...*walks behind Y/N and hugs him, pushing her boobs against his back, making Y/N blush* And I have Y/N to thank~.

Y/N: *flustered* E-Esdeath!

Maria: *smiles and teasing* Oh~? Did the king have his way with my superior~? I wouldn't have mind joining in~.

I blushed heavily and started stuttering, making all the girls around me start giggling. I started chuckling out of embarrassment and once we all stopped, Maria smiled at me.

Maria: I came to tell you that the guy you had join a special hunting course from the army? Richard was it?

Y/N: That would be him.

Maria: Good, Good. Im glad I got his name right. Anyways, I came to tell you that he has done better than anybody else so far. I'm excited to see and report to you how well he is doing.

Y/N: *happy chuckling* I'm glad to hear that. He'll make a great hunter, I'm sure of it.

Maria: No doubt. Anyways, I won't  take up any more of your time now.

Y/N: It's fine. I enjoy talking to you and everyone.

Maria: That means a lot to me. Thank you, Y/N.

Y/N: *nods head* You're welcome.

Esdeath: If you want, we could walk around the capital all together.

Y/N: I'm okay with that. I certainly wouldn't mind you joining us, Maria.

Maria: Why thank you. I've been working rather hard so maybe a break will do me some good.

Y/N: I'm glad to hear that. Well let's get going.

Esdeath/Maria: Right.

We then started walking around he capital, talking and having a good time, when a girl ran into me.

???: O-Oh! S-Sorry. I'm in a rush!

The girl then ran off before I could say anything and Esdeath was about to stop her.

Y/N: *chuckles* It's fine. I don't mind. Things happen and she DOES look like she's in a rush.

Esdeath: Very well.

Y/N: Well let's keep going.

We then kept walking and having a good time and we kept walking around and once evening, I noticed a girl I knew somewhat well.

Y/N: Oh! Hey! Aria!

Aria then looked at me and smiled before walking over to me.

Aria: Hey, Y/N. *smiles sweetly* Congratulations on becoming king! I wish I could've been there to see you being crowned but I was busy helping my family.

Y/N: *pats Aria on the head* It's alright. I understand that your family is busy. I'm just glad I get to see you again.

Aria blushed slightly and smiled at me.

Aria: W-Well would you like to come over today? Say hello to my family again?

Y/N:Sure. *looks at Esdeath and Maria* I can go by myself. I know how to protect myself so I'll be fine, okay?

Esdeath: Are you sure?

Maria: He'll be fine, Esdeath. I know you worry about him quite a lot but we all trained him to become an expert fighter. Hell, we once made him fight against a danger beast. Of course, he had help from us but he still managed to do it mostly by himself.

Esdeath: Yeah, I guess you're right. Be safe, Love.

Y/N: I will, Es.

I then noticed Aria looked slightly sad. Esdeath and Maria then walked off and I placed my focus on Aria.

Y/N: Are you okay, Aria?

Aria: Y-Yeah. *smiles* well I planned on walking around town a bit longer so would you mind walking with me? Then we can head towards my house when it gets dark.

Y/N: That works for me.

We then walked around town and stopped at many shops and Aria bought a lot of nice things and I paid for a few things. Once it got dark, a carriage picked us up but I then noticed the girl that ran into my and so did Aria.

Aria: Stop here.

The carriage stopped and we got out. I smiled at the girl and she looked at me with shock.

???: Y-You!

Y/N: I never got your name.

???: *slightly nervous* T-T-T-Talia...

Y/N: You have a beautiful name. May I ask why you were in such a rush?

???: I'm trying to make a name for myself in the capital so I can help my village...I wasn't allowed in...

Y/N: I see...Hmm~. Well I think I can help you with that, but first I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm Y/N "Carolus" Rex, the newly crowned king of the Empire.

Talia's eyes widened in fear.

Talia: I-I'm so sorry about running into you!

Y/N: *chuckles* There's no need to apologize. Here, come with us. I'm sure Aria and her family will be willing to give you a place to stay for the night. Then, we can go back to the palace and I can help you get a well paying job to help your village. I'll even chip in and help with money I've made out of my own pocket.

Talia: Y-You'd do that for me?

Y/N: Of course. Your village is still a part of my empire, even if it's not really acknowledged. I wish to help everyone in my kingdom.

Talia: T-Thank you.

Aria: Well, we should start heading back now.

Y/N: Right.

I then gave Talia a hand and she took it and I helped her up. I then grabbed her stuff and placed it in the carriage with us. We then rode back to Aria's house. We then walked inside and we saw her parents.

Aria's father: Aww~ the king!

Aria's mother: What brings you here?

Y/N: Aria invited me over and I couldn't say no to a friend of mine.

Aria's parents smiled and we all talked and I told them about Talia's situation and they allowed her to stay the night.

1 day Timeskip

I was back at Aria's house when I was awoken by a strange feeling that something was off. I immediately summoned my gun blades and walked out of my special room just to make sure I had something to protect myself with. Once I walked outside, I heard a yelp and I immediately ran towards the sound of distress with my gun blades in my hands. I then came across a girl about to kill Aria's mother.

I immediately pointed my gun blades at her and gave a stern command without fear.

Y/N: Let her go, bandit...

???: So you're the new king... do you realize what this woman has done?

Y/N: Nothing. She's done nothing wrong.

???: *points weapon at diary* then read that Diary...

Aria's mother: Please don't read that diary! It's about me and my husband's *blushes* S-Sex life. I promise!

My gut told me to not trust her so I put up one of my gun blades and kept it Trained on the girl who was threatening to kill Aria's mother. I then picked up the diary and Aria's mother started to panic more.

Y/N: Don't... Kill her.

???: Fine. But I'm not letting her go.

I nodded my head and started reading...and immediately felt sick to my stomach at the Things written inside.

Y/N:(They always seemed like such nice people but if this diary is true, then this diary is all the evidence I'll need to have hem executed)Do Not kill her but take her outside. I'm going to find her husband.

???: Why should I take orders from you?

Y/N: Because I have a gun pointed at you. That's all I'm asking for you to do. To not kill her and to keep her outside.

???: Fine.

I then ran through the house and finally found the husband and he noticed me and was scared when he noticed the diary in my hands. He then went to grab a gun and he fired it at me, causing me to jump to the side in shock and I then shot him in the shoulder, making him cry in pain. I Then lunged towards him as I jumped the diary and placed his hands behind his back. I then walked him outside and noticed three familiars figures, only two I knew of their names.

Y/N: Mine? Leone? So this is Night Raid? I think I know why you're here. Where's Aria?

Leone: No offense Rex, but Why should we tell you?

Y/N: Because I need to know if she's also a part of what I think might be happening...

Mine: We have her.

???: He knows too much.

Y/N: Keep watch of this guy.*pushes Aria's father to the ground* I need to find something and get Aria out here so I can see if she knows about what's happening...

I then went inside and found the diary. When I got outside, I noticed the girl from before.

Y/N: You must also be a member of Night Raid. I apologize for the misunderstanding.

Aria:Y-Y/N? W-What's happening? I'm scared...

Y/N: *walks towards Aria with diary in hand* I need you to read this Aria...

Aria: That's my mother's diary...I was told never to read this...

Y/N: Yeah, well as king, I command you to read it.

Aria: A-Alright...

Y/N: *looks towards barn* I have to check something else...

I then got to the barn and charged the door, breaking it open. I then looked up and was sickened.

Y/N: What the fuck? Who could be this fucking twisted?! That's it...they're getting the death sentence. That diary will be enough to have them killed...

I noticed barley audible breathing and looked towards the area where it was coming from and noticed a girl barely clinging onto life.

I quickly got her down and I saw that if I hurried, I could save her so I did everything I could do to stabilize her until I got her back to the palace.

???: H-Hey...

I then looked up and saw a guy in a cage

Y/N: Crap!

I immediately got him out of the cage and did everything I could to save him but he stopped me.

???: P-Please don't waste you time on me. Save Sayo...not me. I'm not going to make it but she still has a chance.

Y/N: Don't talk like that!

???: Please...That's All I ask for...put your focus on her and save her...

I reluctantly agreed and pulled out of one of my gun blades and looked him in the eyes.

Y/N: What's your name?

???: I-Ieyasu...

Y/N: Ieyasu...Do you want me to put you out of your misery?

Akame POV

I walked over to the barn to see Y/N holding a guy who was obviously suffering. Y/N had a gun in his hand.

Ieyasu: P-Please...I'd love to be put out of my misery...*pic below*I'll be able to live happily as long as my friends survive...

Y/N: *struggling to keep it together and points gun blade at Ieyasu's head* A-Alright...

I then watched as Y/N struggled to pull the trigger but he eventually did, causing the suffering guy's arm to jolt quickly and then fall to the ground. I was about to speak but I then watched as Y/N lost it. Y/N kept crying and I noticed the girl who was still alive so I walked over to her and picked her up and carried her back to where we were and started doing everything I could stabilize her condition a bit more.

Leone: What happened in there?

Akame: Y/N was forced to put a guy out of his misery. Y/N clearly lost control over his emotions. We need to get this girl somewhere safe.

Mine: Well we can't take her back with us.

Sheele: Then Y/N can take her back to the capital.

Leone: That's the best choice we have. I'll go get him...

Y/N POV

I was still emotional after what I had just done but I then felt a hand on my shoulder.

Leone: Hey...Uh...Akame told us what you had to do...Are you okay?

Y/N: I-I just had to kill a person...

Leone: Come on. Let's you get back to the capital.

Y/N: R-Right...

Leone helped me up and I saw Aria looking worried and her parents were scared and they had the right to be so.

Aria: Y/N...this dairy...What's in it is true, isn't it?

I nodded my head and Aria immediately bursted into tears.

Aria: I'm so sorry. I had no idea!

Y/N: You're not to blame... Leone...please take Aria and Sayo to the carriage...

Leone: Alright.

Leone then picked up Sayo and carried her to the carriage and Aria willingly followed Leone. Once they were out of sight, the rest of Night Raid watched as I walked towards Aria's parents who now had their hands tied behind their backs. They immediately tried to come up with excuses as to why they did what they did but I was having none of it...

Y/N: *PISSED* ENOUGH YOU TWO! I DON'T WANT TO HEAR YOUR BULLSHIT EXCUSES!

I then gripped the gun blade I used to mercy kill Ieyasu and lunged towards Aria's mother and slashed her with the blade, making her scream in agony. I kept slashing her and everyone in Night Raid remained silent as I unleashed my anger upon Aria's mother, forcing her to live through what she and her husband forced those poor people to go through. Through the woods, the only thing heard were my screams of rage and despair and the screams of agony from Aria's mother as her husband cried for me to stop. Once I was done with Aria's mother, I shot her in the head and placed my focus on her husband. I then pulled out my other gun blades and just started shooting him over and over until there was nothing left of him. I then started chuckling which quickly turned into pained laughter and then sobbing again. I then fell to the ground and continued weeping.

Y/N: H-How could I let such a thing happen?!

Lilly POV

I watched from above as the newly crowned king continued weeping on the ground for some reason other than something that obviously angered him enough to kill our targets himself. Once he calmed down, he looked at the rest of my team.

Y/N: I-I need to go...Please stay safe...

We all watched as he got up and stumbled away.

Small Timeskip Y/N POV

I was in the carriage with Aria and it was completely silent, say for my occasional breakdown, which Aria, despite me murdering her parents, did her best to comfort me. We then arrived at the palace and we walked inside, causing everyone to panic when they saw that there was blood on me.
