03 ❧ She's A Bitch To Everyone, Don't Take It Personally

Fun fact :: Aine's original basis character was supposed to be Zero Two from Darling in the Franxx but after realizing just how many bnha fics use her, I decided against it. Had to go through more research for a more fitting OC basis until my sister suggested Kofuku from Noragami. ♥

Question :: Since the plot is only starting, any theories how Aine and Eijiro will meet? I've already planned it but I'd love to hear your guesses! Who knows, I might just give a shout-out to the one that gets it right or the person with the closest answer.  ʢ ᵕᴗᵕʡ

{ Third Person POV }

╭─────────────────╮
Flashback :: 8 years ago
╰─────────────────╯

"Mama, why is this man wearing his underwear outside his pants?", a seven-year-old Aine asked from where she sat in front of the television, watching one of those heroes flaunt their overly colorful costumes at the camera.

"He looks ugly."

"Now, now, honey.", Iroke, an attractive woman with flowing rosy hair and a curvaceous figure [1], entered the living room with a soft chuckle. "Just because a person's taste in fashion is different from yours, it doesn't mean it's not good."

She then walked behind the couch Aine sat, taking a look at the screen as well. "I mean, it couldn't be that bad─ Wait, nevermind. That's hideous."

Now, both Aine and her stared at the hero's attire with disgust.

"He should be in jail for wearing that. And they call me a villain?"

"Hey, Mama.", the child called again, craning her neck upwards to look at her mother. The woman hummed in response, meeting Aine's gaze. "What exactly makes someone a hero?"

"Huh?"

"I mean, aren't villains and heroes the same thing?"

Iroke raised a perfectly-shaped brow. "What do you mean, honey?"

"You do what you believe is right and you fight for it...", Aine stated matter-of-factly. "Isn't that what they both do?"

The smaller pinkette then shrugged, turning back to the television. "It's just a thought. The know-it-alls in TV calls Mama a villain because she did bad stuff before but... Mama also fights for what she believes in and for the ones she loves."

"Princess, that's─"

"Wouldn't that make Mama a hero instead?", Aine added, casually changing the channels. "They're a bunch of hypocrites if you ask me. Society is stupid."

Iroke fell silent, taken aback by her daughter's words. Aine was barely eight and yet the young girl already talks like an adult. Many times she had to cover Aine's mouth whenever they meet anyone who would come across as rude, already aware that her daughter would not think twice on badmouthing the person back.

A smile slowly reached Iroke's painted lips, reaching a hand down to gently ruffle Aine's hair. "You little devil, where did you even learn to talk like that?"

"You raised me, remember?", Aine sassed right back.

"Apparently, I went wrong somewhere."

"True."

Their conversation ended with the mother and daughter chuckling and watching a random cooking show together. But one question was still left unanswered for the younger Miryoku:

What exactly makes someone a hero?

Current Time :: Present
╰─────────────────╯

Aine knew she should be feeling guilty.

But she wasn't.

The teenager currently had her elbows on the steel table, boredly laying her head on her palms as she stared on the plain white walls of the room she was currently locked in. For someone who had just beaten a man half to death and had her ass sent to the police station, the female was relatively calm.

Truth be told, her biggest concern at the moment was not the fact she was handcuffed inside the small interrogation room. Neither the fact she could be sent to prison any time. No, oh no.

Her biggest concern was that godforsaken one-sided mirror in front of her.

Because, for once in her 15 years of living, the pinkette actually did not want to look at her reflection ─ and she had three good reasons why.

One, there's most likely some old creep of a police officer watching her on the other side of that thing.

Two, she always looks great and she doesn't need to check. Cue hair flip~

And, three, one more goddamn reminder that those people took her scarf and her brand-new designer boots, she will lose her shit.

Okay, so maybe her scarf caught some of the man's hair when she asphyxiated him with it and maybe her boots had blood stains on them when she stepped on his skull ─ but come on! They left her with only her stockings inside a room they probably did not clean daily. Ew.

Do they even have any idea how much if a bitch these things are to wash?

The sound of the door opening caught Aine's attention, lilac eyes boredly watching a female officer walk in. The pinkette gave her a look over.

The older woman was a definite head turner. She's around her mid-20's, had ridiculously long blonde hair and cat-like purple eyes, wore a black suit and matching pants. [2] She had wordlessly went straight to the empty chair on the other side of the table, putting down a folder and then facing the younger girl with had an expression that told Aine she'd rather be anywhere else but here.

She couldn't really blame her. Aine wasn't exactly the cooperative type and had a tendency to piss people off just by pure instinct. And this woman is about to learn that the hard - and, most likely, the annoying - way.

"So...", Aine started, crossing her arms over the tabletop and smirking. "You come here often?"

The woman's eye twitched, her already frowning expression meeting Aine's mischievous gaze.

"Great. Just great.", the blonde grumbled, pinching the bridge of her nose in annoyance. "Just what I needed. Another one with a sense of humor."

Clearly, this person hasn't been having the best of days.

And Aine is just about to make it much, much worse.

"You gotta appreciate a lover that can make you laugh, no?", the cheeky teenager smiled sweetly, gaze flicking towards the other's nameplate. "Ki-mu-ra─chan~"

This earned her a glare.

"Don't call me that.", the woman, otherwise known as Police Officer II Kimura Nakano, growled through clenched teeth.

"Why~?", Aine continued to coo. "It's your name, isn't it~? Quite adorable if you ask me~"

"Let's get straight to the point.", the other sighed in irritation, deciding to ignore the younger's taunting and looking through the files in front of her. She was already stressed from work and she wasn't in any mood to entertain some cheeky kid.

"Straight.", Aine repeated, chuckling to herself. "Sure."

Kimura's hard stare met Aine's eyes again, holding a pen and tapping it on the table's surface. "I have a few questions and I expect full cooperation. Am I clear?"

"Ooh. Bossy. Love it."

"Am I clear?"

"Yeah, yeah.", Aine waved off her warning tone, leaning back her chair with her legs still crossed. "Hit me, Mommy."

The blonde's eye twitched again, exhaling through her nose. 'This kid...'

To be clear, Aine wasn't into paedophilia or any of those disgusting kinks. She's underage and know her place, especially when it comes to older - yet still very much attractive - acquaintances.

But that doesn't mean she can't have a little fun, no?

Meanwhile, on the other side of the large glass, Nemuri and the Saitama Chief watched and listened on their conversation through a speaker. It was connected to a mic which was conveniently placed under the table of the interrogation room.

'I have a bad feeling about this...' , Nemuri thought to herself, already feeling bad for the lady officer alone inside with her problem child of a niece.

The female interrogator started. "Are you aware why you're here?"

"More or less."

"Why did you do it?"

"He was being creepy and I got a little bit angry.", Aine shrugged. "Nothing serious."

"I'm sorry? 'Nothing serious'?", Nakano emphasized, seeming agitated but doing her best to calm herself. "Let me remind you that you cracked his skull, dislocated his shoulders and stepped on his crotch so hard that we had to send him to the ER."

"Now, he won't be able to touch others and himself.", Aine smirked. "You're welcome."

The blonde sent the younger female a glare for her carefree answer. "Are you treating this as some sort of joke, Kayama-san?"

"I don't see anyone laughing.", Aine retorted with another smirk, flipping her hair over her shoulders. "Also, it's not Kayama. It's Miryoku."

Her companion raised a brow. "Your profile states your full name is Kayama Ai-"

"And I'm saying it's not.", Aine cut her off, flashing a smile. "Are we done now? I have to prepare dinner."

The pinkette took note of the way the other's eyebrow twitched in irritation after every sarcastic remark. Nakano was clearly doing her absolute best to keep herself calm while Aine was also doing her best to not laugh about it.

"I don't think you fully understand the gravity of the situation you're in, kid.", Nakano hissed, now gripping her pen tightly as catharsis of her growing itch to choke the sassy child in front of her.

The other only continued to smile.

"And I don't think you understand that you're not going to get anything out of me so why not do us both a favor and give up,─", Aine continued to taunt, well aware she was pushing more the other's buttons. "─Kimura-chan?"

'This kid's hopeless!', Nakano screamed in her thoughts. If this woman was already pissed when she walked in, now she's beyond livid. Her glare grew darker - if that was even possible.

"You just have an answer to everything, don't you?", Nakano said through gritted teeth.

"I'm sorry, isn't that what you wanted?"

"Don't get smart with me, kid."

"So you want me stupid?"

"That's it! I give up!", Nakano finally exclaimed, standing up. She sent Aine one last glare before angrily snatching the folder off the table and basically stomping towards the exit.

Aine, on the other hand, finally let out the fit of laughter she was holding in and then mockingly waving Nakano goodbye.

"Call me, Kimura-chan~!", she cooed after the older woman. In return, Nakano loudly slammed the door shut, making Aine snicker. "I win~"

On the other side, Nakano went straight to an empty chair to the side and put her face on her hands, muffling more groans of annoyance. Nemuri looked at the stressed out police with a pitiful smile. They have been listening the entire time and she couldn't help but feel bad for the poor woman. Walking over, the pro-hero patted the other's shoulder.

"She's a bitch to everyone.", she said. "Don't take it personally."
