Prologue
"Holy Mother of Fuck! Why did I have to get moved to the night shift! All because of some stupid screw-ups", Mickey groaned in anger as she shoved the gallon of sweet tea into the fridge.
Mickey and her roommates, Mary-Anne and Daisy, had gone grocery shopping for the week. It was the third month of College and Mickey, surprisingly, had been exceeding well in her classes. The three roommates got along really well. They had met during their first week of orientation, Daisy had offered Mickey to move in with them and the freckled woman took her up on that opportunity. Within the week leading up to the first week of classes, They all set down their main three rules:
1.Clean up after yourself
2.Be considerate
3.Everyone must pull their own weight.
Although she did enjoy college, her friends and the crazy memories she made. Mickey sure did miss her family back at home in Michigan. Especially her Mother, Sarah, and twin brothers, Mark and Dennis. The freckled woman barely remembered her biological father because her mother had divorced him after finding out that he was having an affair with a co-worker at his old job. Mickey would never forget the pain in her mother's entire being when she was told about the terrible news on that day.Mickey was just a junior in high school.
Hell even her father even had the audacity to claim that his wife was the one cheating on him, with no proof. It had been 5 years since that scandal but the Rivera family had support from their family friends, the Fitzgeralds, and Sarah's side of her family. Mickey's mother did find a new boyfriend whom she referred to as her father.
"Don't worry, you'll be off before you know it", Daisy insisted, sarcastically as she was restocking her Ramen noodles stash before unloading cereal boxes.
"Shut up! You don't know how much she gives me hell!", Mickey spat back. The ebony woman simply smirked at her friend's dramatic attitude.
"You can't really get that judgy, Minkie. Vanessa could be nice if you got to know her better'', Mary-Anne said as she refilled candy jars before tossing the empty bags into the trash.
Mickey simply sighed as she restocked their fruit bowl. It was no use, she should've known the downside of working at an iconic kid's franchise. The freckled woman had been working at the ever so infamous Freddy Fazbear's Pizza Plex after hearing about it from an advertisement on Instagram. The twenty-two year old jumped at the opportunity, working the day shift as a guard but she would soon realize that the Pizzaplex wasn't all it was cracked up to be.
Having to deal with Rude customers, Malfunctioning animatronics, screaming babies and a certain rude Co-worker, made her temper flare up. To add insult to injury, The company had unexpectedly moved her to night shift due to multiple infractions that she didn't even know about.
"I still don't understand why you keep a business running after it's been dragged in the mud", Mary-Anne pondered, concentrating on the glossy wooded countertop as she traced the spots with her bubblegum pink painted finger. Daisy shrugged, "With Social media, corporates will do anything for a quick cash grab especially with those folks goin' missing around there".
Mickey's eyes widen upon hearing about the case , "Oh yeah I've been keeping up with the news it's been crazy just me and her being the only human workers. Shouldn't they have put a curfew in place by now?", she realized.
"Yeah but do you know how cops are in this town? Incompetent sons of bitches, they couldn't even solve that case back in '85." Mary ranted with a dramatic wave of her hand ,"The one that started this shebang! They could've solved that one".
"Or when that fire happened at the horror attraction", Mickey added on.
"Or when they found the body of that Co-owners little girl", Mary bounced back
" Or when-"
"Mick, 5:50 pm!", Daisy interrupted. Mickey looked around the coily haired woman at the oven clock and sure enough it was time.
" Damnit! I need to get going", Mickey cursed as she got up from her spot, "Daisy, can you throw in an eggroll in the toaster oven real quick", she requested as she jogged to her room to get ready for her shift. She hoped to make it to the bus stop this time without fumbling for her bus pass.
