Chapter 19: A New Friendship?

Yeonjun's POV

So, she knew all this time but never told her parents or us?

Does she even consider our friendship?

I thought that maybe we can still fix our broken friendship.

But, maybe it's too late.

"Hey. What are you doing there?" A feminine voice shouted.

I knew it wasn't me, so I didn't look. But, before I knew it somebody was standing right in front of me.

"Hey! I was asking you earlier! Didn't you hear me?" The female voice said.

"Who are you?" I said, I didn't look up.

I quickly stood up and walked away.

"Hey! Yeonjun! It's me Yeji! Don't you remember me?! Are you having Amnesia?!" She said.

"Pretty sure, that I don't. At least I don't think so." I said, continuing to walk away.

"Why are you so cold?!" She said.

Those words. They struck me by the heart. Nobody said those words to me in a very long time. She was the only one who can call me that. I looked at her. She looked like she was about to cry.

"Fine! You want to know, why?! Meet me at the rooftop later, dismissal time!" I said, and walked away towards our classroom.

Yeji's POV

Why, did he want to meet me here? Does he really hate me that much?

I don't understand him anymore. I know what he did back then was cruel. But, seeing that he changed so much, while I was gone. Made me think that maybe he had a reason for doing that thing.

I'm a bit early than him so, I think I'll wait.

I looked at the door, it hasn't been moved since the moment I got here.

I guess, I'll just leave.

I was about to leave when the door was suddenly thrown open. I looked at the door, and there was a sweating Yeonjun.

I quickly went over to him, and gave him a towel, that he can wipe his sweat with. Once, I was about to give him it. He gave me a glare, not just a normal one though. It was his famous death glare.

I looked to him, maybe he changed.

I think he changed for the better, because of me.

And he also changed for the worst, because of me.

I was about to cry. But, I didn't want him to see me, cry like when I was child. I didn't want him to see, that I didn't changed. That I'm still that big cry baby.

But, no matter how I try to fight it back it'll always come out. And it did. Once, it did, I couldn't stop it. I kept on crying and saying, sorry to him.

Yeonjun's POV

I heard crying, so I looked over to Yeji. I saw her crying, and she was also saying sorry, again and again. So she didn't really change. She's still the same baby Yeji, I know.

Without knowing that, I was already smiling like an idiot who found something precious to him. Well, I did. I found the one thing that can make me, skip heart beats. It was Yeji.

"So you're really still, the baby Yeji, I knew?" I asked her, she immediately looked at me.

I took a deep breath, and got my Handkerchief, and gave it to her. I smiled at her, making her also smile at me.

"Well, I guess so. But, I still couldn't remember much, about our encounter back then." Yeji said, I quickly frowned.

"But, then. Why call me 'Cold'?" I asked her.

"The truth is I only forgot some things about our encounter back then." She said.

"But not all. Well, I did forget how you did look like. It took some time to remember you." She said, while looking at me and smiling.

That smile, the smile I missed. The smile that can make me Smile as well. I hope this never ends.

We did some catching up with each other. After I confronted her, she was still the cry baby I knew. But she became strong, she might not need me anymore.

I wanted to protect her until the end though. But even though she's strong enough to protect herself, I'll always be there for her. Even if she, doesn't need me anymore.

"Hey. Yeonjun." She said, gaining my attention.

"Do you think, we can start everything all over again?" She asked me.

"Huh? What do you mean?" I asked her, in confusion.

"I mean, let's forget about our past. Let's start a new friendship!" She said, while smiling.

"Why, though? I know we have been through tough times, but why?" I asked her.

"I don't know. I just want to start a new chapter for the both of us." She said, and then looked at the sky.

I also looked at the sky. It's beautiful. It was almost full of stars.

"Okay." I said, and secretly smiled.

"If that's what you think the best for the both of us." I said, while still looking up.

"Promise?" She asked me.

"Hmm?" I asked her.

"Promise me, that it won't and will never happen again." She said.

"Yeah, sure. I promise you." I said, as I stood up.

She looked at me confused.

"Why are you standing up?" She asked.

"Well, we still need to go home, right?" I asked her.

I guess she totally forgot that the school closes at 8:00 PM.

"Oh right!" She said, and stood up as well.

She was fixing her stuff. And stood up again.

"Well, see you soon, I guess?" She said.

"Wait, how are you going home?" I asked her.

"Well, remember that I still have an older brother that also goes here, just in case I'm still left at the school, right? I can go home with him." She said, and went towards the door.

"Bye! Yeonjun!" She said, and left me.

"Yeah, bye..." I said, to nobody in particular.

I quickly fixed my stuff, and went down, and towards my car. I saw her, and Hyunjin there also, they were already getting ready to go.

She got in Hyunjin's car. She saw me and waved, I waved back. After that, they left.

I got in my car, and also went home.

What did Yeji do to me? Ever since we made up.

We've been getting closer and closer to each other.

I've been feeling something in my chest.

Every Time she smiles, my Heart beats so much faster.

Every Time a boy goes near her, my fists wants to punch the guy, until he's unconscious.

I don't even know what's happening to me, anymore.

The last time I felt something like this, was when we were kids.

Could it be?

Could I be in love with her once again?

I think I did, fell once again for her.

Because of her charms.

But, what if, she rejects me?

What if she never wants to see me again?!

That's it! I'm not going to ask her.

Well, not yet.

What am I, feeling?

I haven't felt this in years.

I want to know what this is.

How come, it only comes out when, I'm near him?

When I see him, laughing.

How come I only feel it, when we spend time with each other?

When I see him, having fun?

How come I only feel it, when I see somebody flirting with him?

When a girl, flirts with him.

It couldn't be that...

That, I'm in love right?

Well, mom did say if you felt something in your heart.

You are in love.

And I'm in love with my Best Friend.

That's the worst part.

What if, he only sees me as a little sister?

Or a friend?

I don't want to get rejected!

I won't tell him, I won't tell him that I like him.

I'll hide it, my entire life!

If I have too, that is.

I was in my room, when my Phone started beeping, indicating somebody messaged me.

I'm kind of wondering who would message me.

The girls? Nah, they're all out, in the shopping mall.

The boys? Nah, probably with the girls, to accompany them.

Hyunjin? Nah, his bedroom is just literally in front of mine! Plus, he's currently working right now, so what could he possibly want?

Mom and Dad? Nope, they're probably busy with work, and they don't have time on their hands to touch their phone.

Wait, how about Yeonjun?! Nah, it can't be him.

I quickly stood up, and looked at my phone. It was him! Oh god. I quickly opened my phone, and looked at his messages. There were literally 20 of them!

What are you doing?

Junnie:
Hello?

Junnie:
Alright, I'm going to call you okay?

Junnie:
Hey, why aren't you answering the phone?

Junnie:
Are you mad at me again?

Junnie:
Did I do something wrong?

Junnie:
Please tell me...

Junnie:
Whatever it is. I'm so sorry...

Junnie:
YYEEJJII!!

Junnie:
Maybe you'd like to answer all of my texts?

Junnie:
That would be helpful.

Junnie:
If you aren't going to answer this one.

Junnie:
I'm going to call Hyunjin and tell him to disturb you.

Junnie:
Okay, I called Hyunjin.

Junnie:
I also told him to disturb you.

Junnie:
Okay?

Junnie:
Okay! I'm literally going there if you don't answer my frickin texts!

Junnie:
I'm literally outside your house now.

Junnie:
I'm already in front of your room.

Junnie:
Shall I open it?

Yeji:
NO!

Yeji:
WHY WERE YOU EVEN MESSAGING ME?!

Junnie:
We should go out.

'What, did he just ask me out?!'

Junnie:
I mean as friends of course.

'Oh. So that's what he meant. He got my hopes high.'

Yeji:
Yeah, sure.

Yeji:
Since I don't have anything good to do anyways.

Junnie:
Yeah, okay.

Junnie:
Get ready I'll be waiting with my car, in front of your house okay?

Yeji:
Yeah, sure.

Yeji:
Bye.

Junnie:
Byeee~

After that quick chat with him. I quickly went to my closet and chose an outfit.

I went outside and saw him there, he was literally waiting outside my house!

"Okay, so what is this for?" I asked him, and crossed my arms while having an eyebrow raised.

"Nothing, I'm bored. So I thought we can bond some more. I missed my Best Friend, didn't you miss me?" He said.

"Of course, not! Why would I?! I just saw you yesterday!" I said, jokingly.

"Ouch! That hurts, Miss Hwang Yeji!" He said, and pretended to be hurt.

That made me laugh, I hear something, from his car. I looked at it and he opened the passenger's seat door.

"Come on. We don't have all day." He said, referring to the time.

I smiled and went in, he closed the door, and went to the other side, and went in his seat. We drove off, to some places that I missed.

Something tells me that was going to spend more days being like this.

Lia's POV

I'm currently in my bedroom, having a Video chat with the others. Well, without Yeji and Yeonjun, of course.

It has been, weeks since the incident and we kind of notice them, getting closer to each other.

Well, not only closer, closer. I mean really close. Their 'Hang Out's' are taking so much time. They always hang out with each other!

As in, EVERYDAY! Even today, Yeji and Yeonjun are in the gaming room.

I can practically hear them laughing.

And that's why we did a video chat, without them knowing. It's a video chat about them. It's getting super annoying, knowing your own brother stealing your best friend!

The girls and I are envious of Yeonjun. As he is taking our Yeji, from us. We literally haven't spoken, in a while, and even if we did, it would all be the same.

"Hi."

"Hello."

"How are you?"

"I'm fine."

"How about you?"

"I'm doing fine also!"

Then, that concludes our conversation every day.

They're really, suspicious. I've never seen my brother this happy, before. Not even his own group knows how she did it.

Wait, could it be? The guys said, Yeonjun never mentions the girl he likes, to them. Ever since they were kids, up until now.

"I think I know, why their like that now!" I said to them, in the video chat.

"What do you mean Lia eonni?" Yuna asked me.

"I mean isn't it obvious? Yeonjun oppa never mentions about, his ideal type, to the boys, right?" I asked, and the guys just nod.

"I think, I get it now." Ryujin said, finally she got it!

"Beomgyu hyung! Look at your girlfriend! She's being smart again!" Taehyun said.

"I mean if you guys don't understand it. You guys are literally dumb." She said, coldly.

"Did you two, had a fight again?" I asked, the two.

"Don't bring it up!" Ryujin said, shouting at our video chat.

She quickly logged out.

"Now, that the smarty pants left who will explain my theory?" I asked while sitting down at my bed.

"You mean, either Yeonjun oppa or Yeji eonni, likes each other right?" A voice said.

I looked at my laptop, and saw Ryujin, with Beomgyu.

"Ryujin?! What the- didn't you logged out already?!" I asked.

"Well yeah, my laptop went dead battery, since this boy is also at my house; I decided I should just share it with him." Ryujin said.

"Okay, I'll explain everything now. NO INTERRUPTIONS!" She said, and looked at us, as if she was warning us.

After that she explained my theory. They actually got it.

"Okay, I'll summarize it up; you mean either, Yeonjun hyung or Yeji noona. Likes each other?" Huening Kai said.

"Yep!" I said.

"Well, you may be right. But we still aren't sure about it though." Chaeryeong said.

"Yeah, right, that's what you guys think." I said, but then I heard somebody called me.

So, I quickly said goodbye to them, and logged out.

I just wish it would be true.
