Chapter 2 - Interrogation

There will be some long Flashbacks in this story!!! It's basically all about Kiori's past life in Tokyo....yeah.

"What's your name?"

"Kiori Kurayami," I answered. Ibiki glanced up at me before nodding.

"Age?"

I stared down at my body.

"I don't know." I said. Inoichi raised his eyebrows slightly.

"Where did you come from?" Ibiki asked.

"Tokyo, Japan," Kiori answered.

"Tokyo?" Ibiki's eyebrows furrowed slightly. "I have never heard of it before."

"What?" I gasped out, my eyes wide. "W-What about Japan? Surely there's a Japan right?"

Ibiki glanced at Inoichi who shook his head. "I'm afraid there are no villages or countries named Japan or Tokyo, Kurayami-san."

'There's no way, right? But it all makes sense. Ninjas. Fire country. Hidden Leaf. No Tokyo. No Japan. Is this...another universe or something?' I frowned.

"Are you a-" My eyes widened. They know? They know I'm a ghoul? "-ninja?"

"O-Oh," I blinked. "No."

"Are you a spy from another village?" Ibiki asked.

"Uh....no...?" I raised my eyebrows.

"Do you mean any harm towards Konoha?" Ibiki asked.

"Konoha...?" What was that again? Oh, the village's name. "No."

"What happened before you were brought here?" Ibiki asked.

"What happened...?" My eyes widened. Arima. Kisho Arima. I gritted my teeth. "Why do you guys care anyways?"

"...answer the question," Ibiki looked up at me.

"You know, don't you?" I choked out. "Who I am?"

"Kurayami-san, Please, we just want to help," The old man frowned.

"Help?" I scoffed. "Why would you even want to help me? No," Tears of rage filled my eyes as I glared at all of them.

"WHY DIDN'T EVEN YOU KILL ME!? ISN'T YOUR JOB TO KILL US ALL? EVEN WHEN WE DID NOTHING TO YOU!? JUST KILL US!!! KILL ALL OF US!!!"

A few ANBUs appeared, surrounding me with weird-looking knives.

"Calm down and answer the ques-"

"Ibiki," Hiruzen placed a hand on the interrogator's shoulder. "I think that's enough. If she isn't a threat, we can let her stay in the village." He glanced at me with warm eyes. "Also...she might need some time alone..."

The ANBUs disappeared and Ibiki narrowed his eyes at me again before standing up. Inoichi gently peeled the 'truth seal tag' off me as Akari-san entered the room and handed me a glass of water.

"Until we find the Tokyo place you're talking about, you'll be staying here. We'll be going then," Hiruzen smiled at me warmly before heading out of the room with the two interrogators following him from behind.

Kotori came in and hugged me as she saw the tears in my eyes. "You okay, dear?"

"You can't be mad at them, Kiori-san...They're just doing their job as Interrogators," Akari glanced at me.

Tears flowed out of my eyes. "I'm not mad..."

Since I came here, I haven't sensed any ghouls...Also, there's no Japan, this is a whole other world...So there probably won't be any ghouls.

"I'm just sad..." I choked out.

I'm all alone...again.

Flashback

"Kiori! I think we ran out of food!" My mom, Etsuko called from the kitchen as she closed the fridge.

"We might be moving soon dear, the neighbours are beginning to suspect us as ghouls," My dad, Rakuyo Kurayami informed as he entered the house.

"Oh...we're moving again?" I mumbled. "But why...? We never killed any humans. We did nothing wrong."

"Well that is true dear, but that's how the world works," Dad sighed. "It's all messed up..."

"Well...I'll go out to get a corpse," I informed as I took out a body bag from the cabinet beside the door. "Hopefully I'll find a fresh one."

"Thanks, dear. Be careful," Mom kissed me on my forehead. "Stay with me, alright?"

"Of course," I smiled. "I'm all grown up already, mom! I can go out to get food for you!"

Mom chuckled as she remembered that I was just 5 years old. But I'm quite strong for my age so she's fine with me collecting corpses. "Let's go."

"Mom!" I called. A question mark grew on her head. "Yes dear?"

"Can I go myself?" I pleaded. "I'm a big girl already!!! I can collect corpses myself! Besides, they're not that heavy! I can also protect myself! I hit hard!" I grinned as I fistbumped the air.

"But you're only 5..." Mom frowned.

"Please~? I'm strong right??? I beat one of the drunkies who tried to grope me once!!! And I did it without killing him!!!" I reasoned.

"Oh, Kiori..." Mom frowned. "Fine...but look out for the doves okay? Those ones with big white suitcases. They're much much stronger than drunkies who grope you in the alleyways. They can kill you in one strike, so run when you see them okay?"

My eyes shone in happiness and I cheered. "Thanks mom!!!"

"Be quick, hmm? Be back before 7pm," Mom smiled at me.

"Alright!!!" I grinned as I hid the body bag in a bag.

"You and your enormous strength," Mom shook her head, smiling.

"Bye mom!!!" I grinned and ran out of the house.

"Go to the place with the least people okay?" Mom called out.

"Okay!!!" I shouted and ran towards the place they call the 'Haunted Bridge'.

"Tadaima!!!" I called in a cheery tone as I took off my shoes and entered the house. I furrowed my eyebrows in confusion as the expected "Okaeri" didn't come.

"Mom!!! Dad!!!" I called as I set the bag down beside the door. I ran into the kitchen but mom wasn't there. The dining room, living room and toilet were empty.

"Maybe their just upstairs..." I thought aloud as I walked up the stairs. "Mom! Dad!"

I kept calling but got no response. Worried, I ran up the stairs as fast as I can only to freeze at the sight.

Mom was all bloody and lying on the ground, unable to move. Dad was unconscious on the ground, seemingly dead. Two people with suitcases stood next to them.

"Oh look what we have here," One of them grinned. "The little child."

My lips quivered in fear and tears flowed out of my eyes. I want to fight them to protect mom and dad, but I'm too scared to. I don't want to die. But I want to protect mom and dad.

"Run, dear..." Mom choked out. "It'll be alright...Just run. Run as far away as you can."

I wanted to stay and fight, but my body moved on its own and ran out of the house at high speed.

"Get her!!!" One of the doves shouted.

"Hai!!!" The other answered and they ran after me.

"Please....stop chasing me....mom and dad....I want to be with you....Please...I want my mom and dad back..." I cried as I ran through the alleyways. I suddenly felt something wrap around my leg and I tripped, staring at the two doves in fear.

"Little girl...what's your name?" One of them asked., smiling maniacally.

"G-Give....GIVE MY MOM AND DAD BACK!!! YOU KILLED THEM, YOU KILLED THEM!!!" I screamed.

"Oh, no, no, dear...."I flinched at the word. "You killed them."

"What....?" My eyes widened.

"If you had stayed to fight...maybe they'd still be alive..." He whispered, cracking his index finger. "But instead, you ran away. You're a good for nothing coward."

He stood up and smirked. "And cowards like you...DESERVE TO DIE!!!" He swung his quinque at me. I waited for the pain to come but it never did. I opened my eyes to see that he had smashed his quinque right next to me.

"Just kidding..." He grinned maniacally. "You deserve more than to die....You'lll....be my new toy."

"Senior Investigator Tokage...we are prohibited to inflict unnecessary damage upon ghouls. You have already broke that rule...I hope you can behave for a while so that she can be interrogated before you torture her," The other dove said in a serious manner.

"Wagatta, wagatta," Goumasa Tokage stood up as he smirked at me again. But we can't have her attacking us on the way..."

He pulled out a needle from his coat and gripped my face tight. Pulling my lower eyelid, he injected the needle into me. (Bweh i dunno how to say it so wtv) The other investigator winced and looked away.

I screamed out in pain as my body burned like Lava was melting it. "No...no...please...stop...stop...STOP!!!! AGH!!!!! PLEASE STOP!!!! I NEVER DID ANYTHING!!! AGH!!!!"

"Enjoy," Goumasa smirked cruelly as he pulled me away by my collar like an animal.
