"He's gonna be fine. It was a bit shaky at first, but Devan will be OK." The doctor assured Anne and Steven a few hours later.

"And Collins? Is he OK?" Steven asked.

"Collins is OK. His shoulder was dislocated, but one of the doctors on our staff made sure he was OK."

Steven nodded as the doctor left and a officer came in.

"If you two don't mind, I need to ask some questions about your sons and the people we are pretty sure took him."

"Who did take him?" Steven asked.

"Like I said, nothing is definite, but we're pretty sure it was Vince Merrill and his twin daughters, Vanessa and Veronica. We also will have to talk to the boys."

2 weeks later.

"How's your leg feeling, Devan?" Collins asked, coming into his brother's hospital room where a nurse was helping him into a wheelchair.

"It hurts. I'm not stoked about the wheelchair."

"Wheelchairs are lit." Collins protested before saying teasingly. "Speed of light? Light of speed? I don't know." Making Devan glare at him. "Look, you'll be on crutches in a couple weeks, the wheelchair is not the end of the world."

"I know. Any updates on the court case yet?"

"It starts tomorrow. Mom and Dad are gonna try to get their friend to have custody over Vanessa as well as get charges on Vince and Veronica."

The conversation stopped after that temporarily as Collins took the wheelchair from the nurse with his brother in it and started pushing it out of the hospital.

"You're heavy." He joked as Devan rolled his eyes before telling his brother.

"Vanessa kissed me."

"Against your will?" Collins asked, stopping the wheelchair as Devan shook his head.

"No, it just happened. I really like her, Collins."

"Well, I don't blame you, but I'll stick with Brooklyn and Bailey." He joked as they stopped at Collins's car.

Maybe now everything can go back to normal.
