Chapter 11
Vanessa stood outside of the cell, twisting the weapon around in her hand while a few tears leaked down her face. She knew the cameras would be watching her, she knew she couldn't pretend, she didn't want to hurt the person she had been developing a crush on for a year, but if she didn't, she knew Veronica or her father would do worse, possibly killing him.
She wiped her tears before walking in where Devan was. As soon as he saw her, he gritted his teeth and that's when she realized. She looked exactly like Veronica. As long as she didn't speak, he wouldn't know it was her.
She slowly lifted the gun up, hearing Devan's breath hitch in his throat as she aimed, and gulped quietly, but pulled out a smirk, so Devan would truly believe she was her sister, she took a deep breath in, closed her eyes, and pulled the trigger, as she felt her heart shatter.
Devan cried out as he felt the bullet lacerate his skin and send a crushing pain throughout his entire body before it was replaced with a searing pain, and when he opened his eyes again, Vanessa, who he was still convinced was Veronica, was gone as black spots dotted his vision, making him fully black out.
Vanessa went into her dad's office and slammed the gun on the table.
"Happy? I did what you asked."
"Very happy." He grinned, sending a sicking feeling into her stomach before she realized.
"Where's Veronica?"
"Collins escaped. She's trying to track him down before he tells the police about us. Lucky we installed trackers on him and Devan. You may go." Vince told her as Vanessa walked out, thinking.
'Please hurry, Collins.'
Collins was walking to the ER to get his shoulder fixed and report Veronica and Vince to the police, but he noticed a white van with only two tinted windows and a tinted windshield had been slowly trailing him, and that's when he realized it.
Veronica was following him.
It made him break into a sprint as he heard the van floor it behind him.
