Beyond words and willow trees,
Beyond pines and fallacies,

A forlorn pariah escaping october
Sings an elegy by the waters.

It elicits a gentle response.
The dead eventually spawns.

Pumpkins wake and giggle,
Night creatures start to mingle,

Owls sing like canaries,
Possums dance on trees,

Vampires and werewolves
Together sign a peace treaty

Every year on the same eve.
The happy halloween eve.
