Chapter 47: The Vengeance

Chapter 47: The Vengeance

There was a surprisingly cool breeze in the air. The birds were tweeting, and the eagles glided through the sky. Everything seemed peaceful and normal, except we could sense danger lurking in the shadows. The alternate and shadow dimensions were open somehow; now demons were spilling into the lake protecting the island, and a demon was awakened, but how? Memories flooded my head.

The party, the stampede, and HIM.

As I tightened my cream sweater, I stared at the vast sky as clouds drifted by, and the smell of autumn filled the air. After blinking away my tears of hatred and anger, I grabbed the warm mug and deposited it on the three-legged surface.

While my hands flew across my abdomen and my lips clenched tightly, I was being warned by the goddess about my unalterable fate. If you don't win these trials, you're going to die, and the entire continent is in danger of being destroyed.

You were never human. Whatever you learned or believed was a lie.

Everything dimmed and all was silent, the pups scrambling around the wolves' haunting eyes.

Eli has disappeared. Alternate dimensions are divided into parts of the enchanted forest (don't worry, it's not a fairytale) and the galaxy is not ours. Some demons invested negatively in ours.

Suddenly, the sound was muffled as heads snapped and playful yells from teens and adults stopped their activities and gaped. A pillar of smoke spews as wheels pass over the twisty path that leads into our reality. I gaped, wondering whose smell was arousing our curiosity as I leapt off, sprinting and following the enforcers and the guards as I paused. A nagging thought flashes across my mind as I stare transfixed.

We trudged deeper, the force field enclosing us in its light by the witches, white clothes billowing as we walked. I felt weak, as if something had grasped my leg. The forest feels drained, and the wards are flickering and smoldering like glass. Pale light filtered through the tree as we paused.

Familiarity and anger irk my bones as I gawk, my mouth unhinged as I barge my teeth. My wolf lingers in my brain there, but far away at the same time. We formed a crescent, and I wished I had brought my rifle to shoot. We were expecting someone, but they were late. Fashionably late, you'd say.

Tires swerve dangerously on the twisty dirt path as we huddle together. White dresses bellow and roll as white flats emerge. Three cars, a white jeep and a white BMW, park as heavy breathing subside as I feel my heartbeat in my chest. Damn his white kink, obsessive cleanliness, and his so-called purity.

Asshole.

Pink flats and a petite girl appears with a scroll and thin arms tucked on her chest.an orange bob of hair, bored attitude and a ball of pink gum and a man.

Noah.

Familiar green eyes stare back at me as the girl smirks, laying a hand on him as we all growl and bare our teeth. She removes her headphones and gapes.

His hands were in his pockets, he was dressed in white like an angel, and he shrugged and stared at me with guilt and sadness. I bowed my head and followed them inside as Zale clenched and unclenched his fist.We entered the pack house.

They were whispering, and Noah looked at my shoulder and blinked.

Guilt rages over him, too guilty to meet my gaze.

But why is he here?

I glared at him and tried hard to feel my wolf. She was gone, she was dead, and my arms hurt.

No power, nor magic, spews

I'm empty, I'm hollow.

As I climbed the wooden stairs, which creaked loudly as I winced, I blinked back to my tears.

My feet cracked against the wood as I climbed up the wooden stairs as they trailed behind me. I sighed as I walked down the hallway and at the door as Zale growled and lured us in. I nodded and stood by his side in the study as the shifters crowded in. Noah smiled and pushed a vintage chair as his mother nodded and sat. "What are you doing here, Noah? Or is it Alpha Franklin?"Zale smirked, fumbling with a pen. He bowed and rose. "We know about the war." Zale, despite their dislike for wolves.

"You think she's only after werewolves? Think again. She was bloodthirsty towards all supernaturals and also the children of the gods. They had a plan, and they needed a peacemaker and a head. "He muttered angrily, keeping his flickering gaze on us. I relaxed thinking about everything, but I brushed it off. They weren't important. This wasn't about me; it's about the world and the coexistence of humans and the paranormal. Intertwining my fingers and biting my nails, I nodded.

"So? What's this about? Huh." Zale grinned, biting his lip as the crowd dispersed. Tension fell on us like a deep blanket as it cackled and sizzled. Everyone shot daggers, and thoughts of hatred and mere annoyance zipped through the air, pounding my skull as sweat trickled down my throbbing forehead. I rubbed my head and screeched like a wounded animal as everyone froze and the tension drained.

"What do you mean? What exactly do you mean? It means she wants everyone and everything under her rule of terror." Alpha Franklin's eyes glowed, and his muscles burgled as he growled lowly. I blushed and pinched myself. Idiot buddy bonding. I hate you so fucking much. It's not some romance, and it's not my life. Or perhaps it was just some animal instinct to reproduce. Zale rose and pointed at them before himself. "I see. It is about the demon psycho bitch, so it's not only wolves, it's everything."Zale sighed softly, pinched his nose, and grinned. Apart from me, I want to fight you about the issue, but I know it is so stupid. But there are more pressing issues, right? "Zale put out a hand and moved it. Noah gawked, then jerked his head, then brought out a hand and grasped it.

"You are what?" I exclaimed loudly. I staggered; holding my stomach as I slowly sank onto the floor. The girl rolled her eyes and lent a hand.

"Can you stop being dramatic?" She sneered. I swatted it and grasped my shirt. I wrinkled it as I thought. I closed my eyes tightly, feeling my being unraveled as my life seemed to fade just trying to snipe at any given moment.

I was hyperventilating and rose up. "Yes, we're staying a week so we can help with strategies for the war and stuff. And collect our allies and train. This isn't about you honestly." She rolled her eyes and crossed her arms .My eyes went wide, but I didn't mutter a word.

I whispered, "I know, but I'm just...I have no words. I didn't know it was a pressing issue that was diffusing. But I'm happy we got more allies." I trailed off, holding an arrow, and tapped her shoulder.

Her lips were agape. "Oh, I kind of expected you to be bitchy and throw a fit because of what he did. He shouldn't have— "

"Stop!"

"What!"

"Sorry, I'm not mad that he lied. I mean, I lied too, because I didn't know and I was rather hurt and shocked by the thing he did to me. That's all."I smiled, pulling up my shirt as her eyes widen, kneeling down and gasping so loudly and clasping her mouth shut.

"Um, your tattoo is that bad!" She gasped, her face scrunched. I slowly nodded.

She walked limply over to the door and removed her headphones. Let's go. Hopefully, the boys are waiting for them and aren't trying to kill each other.'Cuz you know?"She shrugged and walked into the field, meeting gazes.

I'm going to die.

Then what's the point of my existence?

A witch and a wolf, just to fade away.

At the end of the day I was passing through the hallway. I paused and opened the door. I was hearing strange sounds, and I screamed. Liam and Croatia were kissing –no making out and most of their clothes disappeared .I covered my eyes and slowly retreated from the couch. Liam quickly scrambled out and put on a shirt. He grabbed my hands and told me everything as my eyes went wide.

"She's your what?" I screamed.

"How? Why? What?"I gasped. I was stunned and extremely confused. He sat on a sofa, a different one thank goodness intertwining his fingers as Croatia beamed happily, at her arms all around him.

"He's my beloved. I waited over sixty years for this. I'm glad."She smiled.

I tried to connect them all, but it made sense. Second chance mate, but a different species. Never mind, he's a half vamp. Ares and Eli were true, but Ares was rejected, but Eli was her second and final chance. Twin mates for me, or does it work for polygamous people only? It kept racking my brain, but I got no answers. The Obsidian pack was still rejected as more people begged to join and Eli was still missing. She crossed paths again with Liam, but she was scared and angry. She greeted him, the Alpha still single, and asked me many questions.

"So still a virgin."I froze, and then whirled to him.

"How is that our business?" I pondered over the table and glared. "No funny business when I'm gone,"I warned loudly, and left.

As the warm breeze hit me as I entered the clearing, a familiar woman sashayed through the field, getting insults from the old wolves.

"Too revealing."

"She looks like a hooker."

Her heels clicked against the wet grass, as if it made her look taller and more beautiful. She was slender and had a figure. She was wearing jeans and a red tank that showed the curve of her breast as she flipped her long blonde hair as Aneta trailed in with her checkerboard buried in her face. The same white blouse, denim jacket, wide crème pants and boots.

I palmed my face as the smell of arouse and intermingle. They did it. I shook my head as Anita's eyes went wide and clamped over her mouth. She smelled it too, and dropped the board as they started arguing and .Liam defended Croatia and both girls punched each other and kicked each other. I intruded and used a command, but Aneta shifted and whimpered away.

"So...you hadn't done anything right?" Josephine asked a sinister smile on her face.

"Why is everyone asking me that?"I screeched, throwing my arms in frustration .She stared at me as if I was mad, and stickered. Raking her long nails through her hair.

"Luna, your mates and the pack need to know you care." She mumbled. I ran off, biting my lip.
