Chapter 46 :Road to Purgatory

They stared at me wide-eyed with signs of sadness and shock but I looked away and made some cereal as a way of coping with the kiss and advances. Every fleeting day I noticed my wolf has vanished or is struggling in a cage in my brain or conscious trapped by a magic force because she can't communicate with me, I screamed in agony as I used my powers and often fainted the tattoo was like a parasite draining my energy and my spiritual connection with nature and everyone. Tears welled my eyes as I blinked them away.

I bolted out and dashed into the woods, running fast as everything blurs and voices and sounds engulfed me as everything blurs and shrills I need to think and let it all out. Feeling a pit of fire burning in my abdomen as I looked up and stared into the wide cloudless sky, sighing I breathed holding my stomach feeling those aching, prickling spider veins draining  me like a parasite I whimpered and walked to a nearby twisty stream as it bubbles and pops as tiny fishes sprint though as I looked at my reflection on the crystal blue steam, I grabbed pebbles and through them as it rippled. The air was crisp as it brought a chill to my bare shoulders and back as I shivered and I tugged my jeans and straightened my legs from its crossed position .

I heard a snap and ruffling of leaves as I felt a sensation of being watched. The hairs on my neck stood and a prickling sensation as the sound seize. I whipped my head, looking into the forest of trees behind me and, crouching and crawling, I dipped my hand into the cold water and grabbed a stone. It was heavy as my eyes darted and my ears perk the sound was over a kilometre away as I kept on hearing the crunch of leaves and something huge and a glowing sensation burning holes through my back like electricity of a familiar poisonous familiarity of breathing of the crisp air.

I shot up slowly listening to the sounds as everything dims, and with a huff my eyes flash. Like, lightening everything dims, flashes and churns slowly, my head tilts and sizzled like an electric TV like a marry-go-round everything spins till I lose conscious.

Suddenly, I fell down like a rocket, diving through the tunnel of smoke; everything aches with no pain when I twist as go on. It was cold, and it was dark. My eyes trail at the ground is pure white and radiates to artificial no wrath, but it ripples like raindrops as I walked cautiously through, only to notice I'm in all white. I staggered and screamed, touching my white tunic and lose shirt frantically. My eyes darted absorbing my surroundings and everywhere was white and chilly and nothing. It was like a white endless warehouse. I got tired and sighed, slowly sliding to the floor and burying my face in my hands.

With a sizzle and a puff of smoke. My eyes fluttered open as I rose, feeling weightless as I levitated. I let my eyes jerked the milky white raindrops that burned and sizzled like acid that seemed to move like a tunnel, a vortex and sideways, all rotating against a galaxy looking orb of a clash of explosions and chaos orbiting. my mouth in an O as my eyes trailed the fountain of glass that shimmered and clashed like metal and flipped into a face, then fell .

I twitched and melted onto the bumpy ocean of white fur and hair. What the hell! A hole broke through the floor leaking of a thick liquid and I walked out, seeing the light as my eye blinked rapidly, hiding my face like a child was being hidden and my recta quickly readjusted to the new surreal familiarity.

My ears perked hearing the squawks of birds and gurgles of rivers. A heavy blanket of fog spreads as I trek through the darkness the grass brushes  my ankles as a force through, using my senses to guide. Trees looms tall and regal, hiding the sunlight as streaks fight through. Rainforest, I thought, the tall trees that were bigger than me and sturdy. I weaved through the sturdy trees and the thick bushes of the humid air. Everything was so thick and large, the liverwort and moss climbing the facade of trees and the wet plants scraping my skin.

Leeches and whatnot, as I thought my uggs got soggy. Oh, no. I gotta remove my boots before I wish I didn't. I noticed that the environment here is a montane forest that explains the mist and fog here and the higher altitude and trees. Luckily, my eyes gaze on the river that gurgles and ripples that meanders through here now. I have to hike upstream to find my way out before dusk or nightfall, or a creature kills me. After a tough hike and continuous panting and cascaded waterfalls form a ring, I near and gaze at the waterfall; it was breath-taking and delightful about how many feet of stone and vines and moss. Arches of rainbows in variants of sizes and shapes form at the base of the river weaving through. The colossal of crowded trees seem to disperse and loosen as the rainbows fade as I hike down.

Slithering and crunching engage my senses as I thought about all the weird things that just happened right now. I stare into the pastures, eating all the sights as I sigh. Something flashes in my eye. I noticed something circular and metallic, tall and windy and the sky that seems not to end, glitches and zaps continuously. It looks like a dome of a clouded class.

Something tingling prickles my neck and my arms, and then pricks my elbows. My eyes trail my palm then my elbow like a needle something imprints my skin, meandering across then sprouts flowers on the twisty trail on my forearm a shade pastel blue .

I gasp as my surrounding dims and claps and everything flips and burns out till I'm surrounded with bricks and an arch hallway. I stared at the floor-to-ceiling windows as puffy clouds glide across the pink and orange streaks .The torches lit up the darkness of the rotten, brick  hallway till I opened the wooden door that seemed way too big for a human to enter. My muddy soaked  boots stain the chipped, stone  steps as I stared into the empty and eerie hallway as the door bangs shut and once again I'm enveloped in darkness only to see some skeletons and some odd machinery in the medieval castle dungeon. I cringe and wince as I dodged the bodies and skeleton lying around the musky and odd room. Everything lifts up, revealing a woman sitting cross-legged on a vintage chair and clad in a Greek toga and long blonde hair put in a bun .

"It's about time," she huffed, placing the book down. Her eye's blue eyes flickered with amusement and impatience as she fixed her saddles.

"What does it 'mean is about time'. I was minding my business and strangely woke up in a white room, a forest now a creepy castle that doesn't look Greek. "

"What the hell!" I screamed as she covered her ears.

But I swore I heard her mutter.'ugh, mortals, 'she muttered angrily, laced with disgust and annoyance' with a sigh and she shook her head, looking at me only for me to notice she doesn't have iris." Well, you finally showed up, dearie. I've been sitting here watching you explore things." She sighed and walked over as the candles flickered, revealing her tall size; she's about eight feet tall like a giant.

She looked at a milky white orb as big as a beach ball and strings messed around the floor, but a skeleton seemed to cover a knot of a clear inhuman skull. She narrowed her crystal blue eyes as it sparkled, staring at me as if I'm some fossil as her eyes seemed to unravel me like yearn I tensed.

A leather red book materialised in her palms as if flipped on its own as she recited some words as it touched and flapped." Heather McCarthy, oh dear, no. Things haven't gone right for you. You've lost everything and everyone. Lies and lies seem to haunt you. And your soul mates don't seem to love you but one way or another; you've conquered your demons and stood safe." She pouted and laughed." But me and my sisters warned your mortal ass, but boo ho, you lost. Child, you're dead now. You might remember me as Avery and my other sister, Ciara. Ring a bell." She whispered harshly, pacing around with a smirk.

My eyes burgle out of its sockets, my eyes narrowed and filled but filled with anger and my fists balled." What, you aren't human at all. What are you?" I demanded angrily, staring as my lungs fill heavy with anger and surprise and my eyes dimmed .

"Stop panicking, Mortal, your're giving me wrinkles. Yes, glad you asked. Ring a bell. We tortured you as mere maidens and annoyed you, boo. I threw the paper at ye head to give you sense to leave, but now your fate is rested and now you've done it. But I have a plan to help you live and it's pretty. C'mon Heather, my sisters and your trails await you." She mused as I followed her." I'm one of the Fates. You must have heard the myth, dearie. I'm Clotho, the spinner, the lady of the thread of life. I go by many names and your guide to Purgatory games." She snickered as everything morphs into a portal of clouds.

Tantalising scents of trees hit my nose from the rectangular rose bushes, manicured grass, and a marigold arch in the garden. A fountain spewed water from a basket from a maiden half nude, staring at the clear sky as the sun danced. Light breeze sways my curls as sweat beads my forehead as my eyes darted looking at a giant oak tree shadowing over with its twisted trunk and enormous size. A woman in her middle-ages snips flowers and waters them as she ran frantically. Her eyes lit up as she wipes sweat from her forehead with a muddy glove and smiles.

She wore a toga that slips off her shoulders and is ankle-length. Her blonde hair in a tight rope exposing a cleavage. She clapped and grinned, showing me her teeth. Looks normal, right? The sister's giggle and chat as if I'm not there and I later as the other which I learnt later is -

"-Atropos, darling. My name is Atropos. It literally means to cut in mortal terms.'' She muttered, looking at me with her brown eyes, soaking me up like I've done worse." How did you know what I was thinking? I shutter staring at the middle-aged woman with confusion. She cackled, like a witch, and then clammed her mouth." Mortal, I'm -I mean we're the goddess personification of Death or Destiny. You have powers of a lunar witch. We all aren't human, don't you agree.

The sisters or goddesses twirl and dance around me in a ring, muttering and reciting as they laugh creepily. Everything muffles and fades like a photo burning as we appear back in the dungeon. In each compartment were strings of different lengths and colours, threads and scissors. The sewing scissors discarded on a wooden stool were golden and vintage, and the wheel sniped and snapped and moved. Like a bustling business, they teleport and levitated, looking at books flying and darting and typewriters burning sand spewing papers as they darted while fixing their eyeglasses or glasses. I began to re-explore the roman temple as essence, burning sweet and sickly scents waft into the room and the movies or lifetimes that play. She snips and cleans as they stopped, but as they divert their attention to me in wonder, they inspect me like an artifact and yell and whisper words or phrases like. 'does she deserve it.'or 'not yet ','will she come back alive ','Did you customised the sets '.'Oh yes' .

"If you guys are three, where is your other sister?" I asked, darting my head and looking for a way back and out of this place. They paused, eyes glazed, staring into the sky .

"You're right, where is she?" Atropos wondered aloud, tapping her chin.

Colton scowls and hits her sister golden tresses as she winces and pushes her sister." You old buffoon. She's inspecting and supervising the souls in the arena." She yelled, flailing her hands at her and their anger as if I'm not there. Even though they are tall like giants literally but honestly, they aren't intimidating but boring to watch.

"Ouch," Colton groans, rubbing her chin and bruised elbow as she glares. They sigh and place their gold branchlet hands on their hips. You could say that Colton is attractive if I was bisexual I'll flirt. She had a figure, a big bust, smokey eyes or perfect makeup for days. She strolled confidently and seriously about her work. Dressed in a short -ankle length toga that hugged her curves and a ring of flowers in her luscious hair. Atropos reminded me of the lady from our pack. Old but wise and warm smile but mean eyes. Her white drippy toga fit for a healer.

Colton held a glittery gold thread and pulled it as she stared at it internally and slowly her eyes went wide. Her sister crawls smiling with a mischievous glint, holding the scissors expectantly, and her sister shook her head as she frowned and shoulders hunched as she huffed and glared." Sister, it isn't her time." She muttered softly, her hand on her hips as her red lips curled into a smirk, her bronze bracelet glistening. Her heels clunk as she walks to me as she smiles, then bursts into a fit of laughter.

"Well, lucky you, boo," her eyes narrowed dangerously and voice low as the room dims and taps her lips." Well, well. You're lucky you haven't been allowed in yet, but that doesn't mean you'll come back alive and well. Don't worry, girlie. We'll have your life and soul." Her eyes darkened and her voice deep as she pinched my chin and whispered into my ear and gripped my neck." Your life is by the thread, literally." She snickered as she gripped my neck tightly that it bruised. She scoffs, her sister pouts and holds my thread and fingers through it and twiddles it as my skin prickles and itches. The air chills heavily as smoke engulfs me as my thread glows as I scream in agony. The shadows laugh, materialise and glide along my body as my aches and snaps .

My eyes roll, everything darkens and muffles. I'm out like a light.

My head throbs. Everything is blurry and my memories in holes and fuzzy as I slowly open my eyelids as if I'm drowsy. My wet legs scrape the pebbles and gravel as I wince in pain, sitting up ignoring the pain in my head, my body and my abdomen. I cough continuously twitching as my abdomen spiders burning sucking veins draining my energy as I suppress a scream; I crawl and stare at the sun setting as my eyes dart at the sunset exploding in shades and streaks of orange and yellow, staring at the eerily quiet wilderness as darkness surges. A sigh, soaking up the bubbling river and the pine trees blending with the surreal environment in a U shape as a soft breeze caressing my curls.

My body tenses and freezes as everything plays like a movie in painful flashes as tears stream out my eyes. In shock, I grab my feet to my chest, sinking onto the ground, cry rubbing my abdomen as now Pink Eye is grinning with happiness.

I hate you, Noah!

I hate you Moon goddess!

I hate my choices; I want to die!

I hate everyone and everything including myself.

Damn, you goddess you sadistic bitch!

I yell, screaming into the sky, and howl. I limp soaked in sweat and saunter into the darkness alone with my thoughts about the Fates.

Noah:

Animals scamper into the forest seeking shelter, the winds rough as it roars and groans, the stars wink and twinkle in the wide sky. I growled angrily as the moon rose high in the sky. I skids and trips and grains to shove the window and slide the velvet green curtains as I ran my fingers through my red hair in frustration and screamed in agony and hatred. Tears streamed down my cheeks and trickled down my arms on my stripes and slid from the wall and hugged my knees to his chest in anger. It was dark and cold because of lights switched off and windows opened. I drank, cursed myself and my mind for the childish act I did. My green eyes glowed to adjust to the dark as he sighed, his silts dilated in a frenzy.

The white door creaked open and angrily a girl strolled in removing her earphones and yanked him and slapped him to gain his sense .I can't brood over my feelings. I shook and groaned as I blinked rapidly, gaining his composure. Elle's eyes observed the room, spotted scattered bottles and ran down materials and broken down-turned chairs. She shook her head angrily.

Memories flashed through my mind like a movie, reminding me what I did to her. I had shattered her trust and friendship. It wasn't entirely my fault actually, hadn't shifted in a while and slowly gave in to the sadistic feelings of finally claiming my mate but I was stunned to realise when his mate was a teenager. I waited and did something he never saw himself doing. Becoming a teenager again to gain her friendship at least but I didn't expect her to date, but I was wrong only to encounter a werewolf and found out double. It's impossible to get two or even a second, but the Goddess surely has made a dreadful mistake or a simple sadistic plan to inflict laughter and pain.

I injected her with anesthesia to knock her out and tattooed on her abdomen with a henna tattoo made with iron, witch-hazel and wolfsbane into her system only causing her to lose her energy and drain her powers like a parasite only slowing and forcefully killing her. I knew what he had to do: apologise and hopefully win her trust, but not wallow in his feelings like a child.

Or maybe join the about the demon war, I wasn't completely oblivious to the situation I knew full well about the demon massacre slowly joining and breaking wolves but little did they know it was the whole supernatural and paranormal community .I had bad blood with those shitty wolves. The Demoness is a smart and manipulative bitch. Littering bodies of witches, animals and leading hunters into their hiding places and slowly exposing shifters, Weres and others alike, in her scary and worrisome agenda to gain power to herself. Who isn't stupid about what might happen if humans saw them. Will a witch hunt begin, will scientists experiment or will racism happen in full blast and a massacre and discrimination of them? No! I wiped those painful lingering thoughts of paranoia away. My friend held my shoulders and he nodded.

"Why did you do that! "She yelled angrily, screaming at me and attempting to punch again. "How long haven't you shifted for him to control you, yes I could see your behaviour change?" She yelled, paced around in circles, balling her hands, attempting to breathe. She touched and pinched my face, masked in tears and self - hatred.

She breathed and opened the wide window, exposing the moonlight spewed as the cold air blew her bob of orange hair and sighed in exasperation and exhaled sharply." This room is stuffy and chilly, the hell." She growled and paced around, darting and buzzing like a bee, setting everything in place. Being a female Beta wasn't easy to get because of the old backward rules, but Noah helped change those. He straightened as he stared into the horizon. She narrowed her eyes and pointed into the vast autumn woods." Go, run, and shift. Be with winter- Don't come back till you're one with Nature, tell her your wrongs and tell everything. No secrets or I'll punch you and rip your balls like the witches."

I straightened his spine, wiped his tears and embraced his friend and buried his head in hands. The witches were frightened and shocked when I barged in, demanding them to do this with fury and rage blinding my eyes.

There's no way to remove the tattoo is silver itself. A poison to her, Never again.

I bolted out the window and slowly morphed into his form. Dark green eyes glowing in the moonlight as his pupils turned into silts as veins protruded through his neck and muscles flexed as he changed into his form and bolted into the woods.

My friend and Beta weirdly respected me for my leadership so to see this side of me was disappointing.

I ran through the woods, twisting and turning at full speed as everything blurred. Leaves crunched as my eyes darted for traces of wolves, people and rogues. I maneuvered and alternated through the towering trees, while breathing the chilly air.

I knew what I had to do.

Avenge for my wrongs and help in the war and maybe, just maybe win her trust again.
