Woman Trouble part 3, Popularity Contest

"Mother, I don't understand why I have to do this. I've never even met him." A blonde haired girl who looked to barely be 15.

"I understand how you feel about this whole ordeal, but they have given the order to gather all eligible maidens into Egypt. After the attempt on the new Pharaoh, they feel they need an heir quickly. Sometimes fate is decided for us. But if you were to be chosen, it would be for a good purpose." A beautiful woman in royal attire said putting a hand on her daughter's shoulder as they were sailing to Egypt and further away from their homeland.

The princess would miss it so much.
--------------------------
After the ship landed in Egypt, the blonde was taken to the palace. She knew her mother understood she didn't want to marry the new Pharaoh,  so, she figured to keep her head down so she wouldn't be noticed.

Then she noticed some flowers she's never seen outside the Pharaoh's throne room. She was drawn to them and went for a closer look.

A ways away from her, the Pharaoh himself was just sitting in his throne with a mix of boredom and irritation looking at these Princesses, knowing that they are just here to get some more power for themselves.

Then he spotted someone near the lotus pond, and she was the only one not directing her attention to him. Plus her clothing was unusual. While the other princesses were showing off their bodies, she was the most modest, barely any skin was shown.

He decided to take a closer look at her as he rose from his throne surprising his court.

"Pharaoh?" One of his priests asked as he went by all the other princesses to their shock.

"Excuse me." A deep voice rumbled.

The young Greek princess turned to see a young man behind her, definitely royalty or of importance.

"Oh, I'm sorry, pleasure to meet you, sire." She stood and bowed without looking at him.

"You may look at me face to face." He said. She did and her marble skin and golden hair made her look unearthly, almost divine along with her warm sunset eyes. She was probably an inch taller than him, but he can overlook that.

"Why were you out here?" He asked.

"I just noticed these flowers in the pond. We don't have these back home, their beautiful." She said directing her gaze toward the pond.

This caused the man before her to smile. "Yes, the lotus flower is exclusive to Egypt. What is your name?" He asked as a priest walked up to him.

"********."

"Pharaoh?"

"Tell the others I needn't see no more. ******* will be my queen." He said as the young princess stood in shock.

She was talking with the Pharaoh?
And he chose her?!

--------------------------

That was when Joanna woke up. This was the fifth dream in a row. She was talking with someone that looked like Yami but she knew that it was just a dream. Right?
------------------------

A week after another of Kaiba Seto's Third Game Master tried to beat Yugi and the whole thing with the Dragon Block, one could find the three girls of the group in front of their shoe lockers.

"Popular as always," Tea told Miho, who pulled out some love letters.

"You can have it then," Miho told her as she handed them out.

"W-w-wait a moment," Tea said in surprise.

"Well, it's annoying," Miho stated.

"Hey, you," a female called out making the three girls to look over. "I'm jealous you get that much." When she opened her own locker, gifts and letters fall out of it. "Oh, my." Tea and Miho stared in surprise at this. "I get sick of dealing with this every day."

"Unless you do something about your beauty, it's hopeless, Kaoruko-sama."

"I suppose."

The three girls looked at the other three laughing.

"Wow."

"Just what you expect from one of Domino High's most Popular girls, Himekoji Kaoruko," Tea stated. "There's nothing plain about her."

"Ahem. Have you forgotten?" Joanna said as she opened her locker only to reveal even more gifts and letters than in Kaoruko's.

"Oh right. You're the most popular among the girls." Miho said.

"Hard to believe it, but you do have qualities for it." Tea pointed out.

Kaoruko was watching this with a jealous look in her eyes.

Joanna took her own letters and gifts to the trash, made sure that no one was looking, and threw them away with a sigh.

...My Line...

It was later that day that the students noticed a sign on the bulletin board about a popularity contest.

"This is sudden...the student body sure has a lot of free time," Joanna stated.

Yugi pushed to the front of the crowd.

"Participants..." Yugi mumbled before let out a slight laugh. "The prize are tickets to the musical, 'Beauty and the Beast'."

------------------'

"Yugi!"

"Tea!" Yugi cheered when the blue eyed brunette ran up to the table to sign up.

"What you guys doing here?" she asked.

"Joanna's entering the popularity contest," the short boy answered.

"Got a problem with that?"

"Why all of a sudden? I thought that you don't like this kinds of contests." Tea said.

"Because I'm sick of that red-haired witch putting the other girls down all the time. If one of us beats her she won't have a leg to stand on." Joanna explained.

"Tea?" Yugi asked. "Could it be you're applying, too?"

"Yup," she answered. "The prize are tickets for a Broadway Musical. It's been tough because I couldn't get any."

"I'll definitely cheer for both of you," Yugi told them. "Do your best!"

Joanna wrote her name on the sign up sheet before Tea did the same.

...My Line...

The tomboy let out a sigh as she stood in a shop that made specialty dresses and even some rave outfits.

"Joanna-chan! I seldom see you in here." a female called out.

The young blonde turned to look over to see a waist length red haired and hazel eyed 26-year-old woman walk up to her.

"Kia-san," Joanna greeted with a smile and bow.

When the brunette stood up right, she looked at the redhead more closes and could see that beauty that comes with being a Child of the Goddess of Love and Beauty.

"You never come here unless you have to," Kia stated in surprise. "So, why are you here?"

"I was talked me into entering a popularity contest that Domino High is having," she sighed. "And I need a dress for the last part."

"What kind of dress?" Kia asked.

"The kind that is based on a duel monster that I like," Joanna answered.

"So, a dress that screams daring yet classy?"

"Yes," Joanna answered.

The redhead got a thoughtful look on her face before her hazel eyes lite up happily.

"I think I have just the thing, but I'll need your measurements for it."

"Right."

The two girls walked to the back where Zoey got what she needed before they talked about a pick up date. Once that was done, the Hoshi walked out of the shop to head home thinking about what she going to wear.

...My Line...

The tomboy came to a stop when she saw a familiar blunette looking at a shop.

"Miho?" she called out in question.

"Huh?" the young girl looked over at her before smiling. "Joanna-chan."

"Miho-chan!" a familiar male voice called out.

The two girls looked over to see Yugi run up to them.

"Oh, Yugi-kun?" Miho asked. "What is it?"

"I finally found you," Yugi said. "Hey, about the contest..."

"Is Yugi-kun entering it, too?"

"N-no!" the young boy answered. "Miho-chan, why aren't you participating? The prize is tickets to a famous musical."

"I don't like musicals," Miho informed him.

"Ah, I see."

"Hey, do you two want to go get something to drink?" Miho asked. "I feel thirsty." It was then that to Joanna and Yugi's shock the puzzle and pendant acted up. "This is...?"

A white haired and brown eyed male stopped in front of Yugi like he was in a trance before snapping out of it.

"Did I do something to you just now?"

"Huh?"

Yugi shook his head no.

"I see," the white haired male said. "I'm sorry. Somethings I lose my memory...I'm glad nothing happened."

Joanna looked at Yugi, who had a surprised look on his face. 'Wait, he loses his memory as well?'

'Lose your memory?'

"Yugi-kun!" Miho called out. "Joanna! What are you two going?" All three of them looked over at Miho, who started to blush at seeing the brown eyed male. 'He's very handsome!' She then quickly walked up. "Hey. I'm from Domino High. My name is Nosaka Miho. This Saturday the school is having a popularity contest. I'm definitely going to win, so please take the role of escorting me."

"Ehh?"

"Okay?" Miho asked before he started to walk away. "Be sure to come! I'll be waiting!" Joanna face palmed. "Alright! Miho's going to do her best!"

"Miho-chan..."

"Fight! Fight!"

"Put a cute guy in front of her, she'll roll over and bark like a dog." Joanna said.

The two of them watched as she walked off happily.

'What was that just now?' Yugi thought before smiling. 'Never mind.'

----------

The three girls were all together getting ready though Joanna was wondering how she let herself get talked into entering.

"I'm so nervous."

"But, Miho, I'm amazed you entered. What happened?"

"Just something," Miho answered. "Alright! I'm definitely going to win!"

"I heard something about winning just now." Kaoruko said turning their attention to her."You should know your place."

"It's not that absurd. There is dignity in just participating."

"Hey!" Tea  growled. "You don't know who'll win yet!"

"Please be gentle, all we have is our youth," Miho added. "It's like the contest is between how tight our skin is."

'She's said it now.'

"How rude! Kaoruko-san is also..."

"Very well," Kaoruko said. "When the results are in we'll see."

'Skin tightness?! They're just two years younger!'

------------------

Kaiya let out a sigh as she waited with the others.

"So, now we will introduce the contestants for the first popularity contest. Entry Number One, Himekoji Kaoruko!" The crowd cheered at that before the through three other contestants. "Entry Number Five, Wheeler, Joanna!" Another sea of students cheered loudly as the blonde winked with a smile before she walked off. "Entry Number Seven, Masaki Anzu! And Finally entry number nine, Nosaka Miho."

...My Line...

Joanna was finishing things up as trumps sounded.

"Thank for waiting, everyone!" the announcer called. "Now entry number 1, Himekoji Kaoruko! Procession of Courtesans."

The young brunette didn't pay much attention to the other four entries before she moved towards the stage.

"To take our mind off this, entry number Five," the announcer said. "Wheeler Joanna's singing."

The whole crowd heard the music start as Joanna stood in the middle of the stage in a mid-thigh length, short sleeve, white dress that has a firm fitting, v-neck, and a chain belt with a dragon head buckle. She was also wearing a cowboy hat and black leather cowgirl boots. She was holding a mike as she had her eyes closed while the music started and she started to sing.

(A/N: I do not own this song even though I wish.)

You better take it from me
That boy is like a disease
You're runnin' and tryin' and tryin' to hide
And you're wondering why you can't get free
He's like a curse; he's like a drug
You get addicted to his love
You wanna get out, but he's holding ya down
'Cause you can't live without one more touch
He's a good time cowboy Casanova
Leaning up against the record machine
He looks like a cool drink of water
But he's candy-coated misery
He's the devil in disguise
A snake with blue eyes
And he only comes out at night
Gives you feelings that you don't wanna fight
You better run for your life
I see that look on your face
You ain't hearing what I say
So I'll say it again 'cause I been where ya been
And I know how it ends, you can't get away
Don't even look in his eyes
He'll tell you nothing but lies
And you wanna believe that you won't be deceived
If you listen to me and take my advice
He's a good time cowboy Casanova
Leaning up against the record machine
He looks like a cool drink of water
But he's candy-coated misery
He's the devil in disguise
A snake with blue eyes
And he only comes out at night
Gives you feelings that you don't wanna fight
You better run for your life
Run, run away, don't let him mess with your mind
He'll tell you anything you wanna hear
He'll break your heart; it's just a matter of time
But just remember
He's a good time cowboy Casanova
Leaning up against the record machine
He looks like a cool drink of water
But he's candy-coated misery
He's the devil in disguise
A snake with blue eyes
And he only comes out at night
Gives you feelings that you don't wanna fight
You better run for your life
Oh, you better run for your life
Oh, you better run for your life

Once the music stopped Joanna bowed as the students cheered loudly for her while the others all stared in surprise though when she walked back stage, the tomboy throw Kaoruko a smirk before going to join the others.

"That's was amazing, Joanna," Tea told her.

"Thank you," she thanked.

"Miho thought you were greet," the blunette said.

She smiled at the young girl before getting ready for the next event.

"Entry Number Seven!"

"Wish me luck!" Tea told them before she ran out.

"Gardener Tea's Hip Hop dance!"

Joanna had front row seats to Kaoruko's outraged look when the right music played and Tea started to dance to the beat. The brunette walked away with a smile as Miho went out of stage did her act to get ready for the next part of the contest.

...My Line...

"And now at this pool we will have the second part!" the announcer called out. "The bikini style contest!"

...My Line...

Joanna sat on a bench in her bikini lacing up a pair of black colored, thin 6" heel, sandals while once again she was only wearing her pendant as jewelry while her hair was breaded over her right shoulder. She was wearing every light make up of light blue eyeshadow, eyeliner, and a light coating of pink lip gloss. At the moment both Tea and Miho where getting ready for the next part as will as they talked.

"We've got to win this contest no matter what, we're the only ones left" Tea was telling them.

"Right," Joanna agreed as she stood up and pulled on a sea foam blue robe.

"Leave it to me!" Miho stated. "I brought a swimsuit that I really like."

"Really?"

"Don' be surprised when you see," Miho told them as she went to open the locker. "Ta-da!" All three girls gasped as they noticed that the swimsuit was torn to pieces. "What is this?"

"Miho, what are you going to do?" Anzu asked.

"Thanks for waiting!" the announcer was heard. So now, entry number one! Himekoji Kaoruko!"

"Tea, go to the costume department and get that mermaid outfit!" Joanna said as she rushed towards doors after making sure that her robe was over her shoulders.

"Right!" the blue eyed brunette agreed before rushing off.

...My Line...

"Then to continue, entry number six!" the announcer called as the blonde took off the robe making everyone to gasp at her athletic build while she wink.

"Now, entry number nine, Nosaka Miho!" Kaiya replaced her robe on before walking over to the side as the announcer had to disqualified Anzu when she didn't come out. "Nosaka Miho-san, if you please! Miho-san? What's going on?"

"Miho-chan! Miho-chan, hurry and appear! Miho-chan..."

"Thanks for waiting!" Miho was heard calling out.

They all looked over to the diving board to see Miho in a mermaid costume waving at them with a smile.

"That's an amazing contestant! Our idol, Nosaka Miho!"

"How pretty," Yugi gasped with a smile.

"We borrowed that costume from drama," Tea explained as she joined the older Mutou twin.

"Kaoruko-san..."

Joanna smiled before she goes over towards the diving board quickly where she helped her down and into the changing rooms.

...My Line...

"Alright," Miho said as she put up the costume. "One more step till victory." The blonde sighed as she placed her bikini into her bag. "I wonder if that person will come."

"Nosaka-san," one Kaoruko's friends said as she opened the door. "Behind the school there's a person, who came to see you."

"Really?" Miho asked. "Alright!"

Joanna walked by the girl with a glare before stopping.

"If Miho is hurt in anyway..." she turned her way to unleash her deadly glare at the girl. "I will make yours and yours' friends lives a living hell."

The older girl backed up in fear as the tomboy walked off and back towards the auditorium to change.

...My Line...

The tomboy looked worried when she didn't see Miho anywhere while Mia was helping her to get ready.

"Kia-san?"

"Yeah?"

"Have you see Miho?" Joanna asked looking worried.

"No," the redhead answered as she placed the touches of make up on the brunette.

The tomboy was getting really worried about her now.

"Himekoji Kaoruko, Wheeler Joanna, and Nosaka Miho's final judging!" the announcer said. "Formal style!"

Kaoruko walked towards the stage, but came to a stop as she could only stare in anger when she noticed Kaiya with another woman. She about growled when she placed a gold circlet with a ruby red stone around the Hoshi's head to the girl's surprise.

"Eh?" Joanna asked.

"Every Princess needs a crown," she stated with a smile.

A small smile came to the tomboy's face as she nodded her head before she head over to the stage with Kaoruko joining her while Yugi ran by.

'Where did Miho-chan go?' he thought. 'She'll get disqualified.'

Brown eyes glared over at the other girl with anger as she knew that she had something to do with Miho missing.

"Then let's begin! Entry number one. Himekoji Kaoruko!" The older girl was in a red firm fitting dress as she stood on stage before walking off. "Entry number six. Wheeler Joanna!" The blonde walked out onto the stage with the grace that only a Princess and Warrior have getting a lot of cheers from a large number of students as she faced them.

Joanna gave a bow before leaving the stage while looking around. "Entry number nine. Nosaka Miho!"

'Where is she?' the young blonde thought as she looked around in worry.

"Nosaka Miho-san. Nosaka Miho-san, are you here! If this continues I'm going to assume she forfeits."

Joanna let out a gasp when she felt an all too familiar presence behind her making her to spin around.

"Yami?" she gasped in shock at seeing him.

"Joanna," Yami greeted as he looked her. 'Beautiful.' "You don't need to worry about Miho."

"Why?"

"She's fine," he answered. "I took her to the infirmary. I found her knocked out with chloroform." The tomboy gasped at that before she turned glare at Kaoruko as Yami joined her side. "Focus on winning, I'll handle her."

"Alright," Joanna agreed with a nod before going over to Kaoruko.
----------------
After that, Joanna ended up winning the Popularity contest to Kaoruko's dismay. The redhead was about to confront her when Yami intervened and challenged her to a Shadow Game with the flowers she had prepared for her 'win' Although she lost to Joanna. She still lost to Yami and was subjected to a Shadow Game.

...My Line...

The blonde laid in her bed with a sigh as she thought about Yami and how he also seems to make her heart speed up while also missing a few beats much to her confusion. But then she thought of Yugi, wondering if he's starting to get what's going on.

'What is my connection to him and he to me?' She sighed. 'Could I be falling for Yugi or Yami?'
