thirty one.

You were staring at the tv, live feed of the prison from the security cameras playing on it. You wanted to know when your father walked out of that prison, and who picked him up.
When eleven fifty three came around, your father was escorted out and walked to his car. You paused the feed and pressed a few keys, zooming in on the driver: DaeJung.
You slammed your hand onto the table angrily and pushed your hair back, taking deep breaths to keep your composure. Jisung came running into the room at the noise, worry plastered on his face.
"What? What happened?" He asked.
"My dads driver is DaeJung." You told him. "I need to know how my father met DaeJung, and why my father wants me dead. We have three days until the ball, and I'll have to ask him myself if we don't figure it out."
"You might have to ask him." Chan said as he walked in. "Our only ties to your father and your mothers death are dead, in prison, or with your father."
"I know that." You replied. "But everyone leaves breadcrumbs."
The prison warden walked you through the building to get to the computer hall. "Do your guards monitor technology time carefully, Warden?" You asked.
"Yes, during the time that inmates are in the computer hall. However, we don't track their usage after they are finished." He replied.
He opened the door for you and followed you in, and you looked around the room. "Which computer did Minjoon L/N use the most?"
"That one." He said, pointing to a corner computer. "In fact that's the one he used every time."
You went over to it and sat in the chair, typing in the username and password that the warden gave you when you had asked him for it. You went to your fathers emails, and found that he sent several emails to the same email address. The emails were encrypted, however, so you had to get the emails back to the house to run them properly.
"I'm going to need a flash drive for everything on this computer." You told the warden.
"Of course. I'll get you one right away." He said.
"Thank you."
When he left, you stood up and watched the inmates that were in the computer hall. The warden said that they were observed during their privilege time, but they clearly weren't, or else your father wouldn't have been able to send those emails.
"So," one inmate started as he turned to look at you. "What did Minjoon do this time?"
"This time?" You questioned.
"Oh, yeah," The man grinned. "He was always causing trouble, acting suspicious. Weird guy."
You hummed in response as the warden came back into the room and handed you a flash drive. "Please take everything you need, Agent L/N."
The inmate turned around again, his eyes narrowed. "You're that guys daughter?"
You smiled bitterly and put the flash drive into the computer. "Unfortunately."
"Your dad must've been really smart. These encryptions are really difficult to decode." Jisung said.
"As much as I hate to say it, he could be classified as a genius." You sighed. "And I saw those encryptions, they're not that difficult."
"Y/N, these encryptions are very high-tech." He said.
"And the company you worked for was also very high-tech, Jisung. You've been discouraged by Seungmin and Jeongin- work your magic."
You patted him on the back. "I have not been discouraged, Y/N. I was coding, not de-coding at Shik AI."
"If I can do it, you can do it-"
"I got it!" He exclaimed. "Here, look at them."
You bent down and read all the emails, and they were exactly what you expected them to be. Direct orders to kill you, plans for his parole release, but nothing on why he wanted you dead.
"Hey," Seungmin said. "Did Jisung get it?"
"Of course he got it." You smiled. "Why'd you wait so long to get him on the computer?"
"Well, even though his skill is what we recruited him for, we wanted to give him time to adjust." He answered.
You smiled and clicked the small remote in your hand, making the emails pop up on the large tv. The boys came from the kitchen to read them, and Changbin crossed his arms.
"These go all the way back to five months ago. They've been planning this for a long time." He said.
"They sure have." You said. "I can only imagine the planning will get more extensive. Look at this one." You pointed to an email in the top right corner. "This one mentions the ball, just secretly. The code name for it is movie theatre five, which seems kind of suspicious from the start, but that may just be me."
"'Let's go to movie theatre five when I'm out. We'll have a blast there.'." Chan read out loud. "Blast seems like a key word here. That could either mean a bomb, gunfight, anything."
"Let's hope we figure out which one before-"
A knocking at the door took your voice, and you slowly walked up to the door and looked through the peep hole. You swung the door open and raised an eyebrow.
"Blade, we were in the middle of a very important conversation-"
"Not as important as this." She said, holding up a piece of paper.
You grabbed a pair of gloves out of your pocket, noticing that she had some on, and opened it up to read it. "'Y/N, you're too good. Too bad you can't stop the storm that's coming.'."
You looked back at the boys who had confused looks on their faces, then back at Blade. "I don't know how I didn't catch it before- I must've been so ready for that food you promised me- but I found it in Jinwoo's ear. I ran it for prints, and it matched the prints you gave me to run against if I found anything."
"DaeJung's." You sighed.
"Yep." She nodded. "Y/N, I'm worried for you. These people are out to get you."
