Epilogue
Lysth followed the sound of crying.
Currently, Gos would be at his coronation for being the next Trust Keeper. He should currently be following its directions for refusing the title. It knew he would. That was just Gos. Poor, simple, predictable Gos.
After taking away its power of betrayal in God's eyes, a fog had been lifted from his vision. He was looking directly in the face of truth. Now, guilt was weighing down on him, crushing upon him.
But it didn't feel bad. Why should it? This was all a part of its revenge. Gos, out of all people, should have understood. He knew perfectly well how that felt like. But that didn't matter now. He was long gone.
Now, there was only one more phase before Lysth's plan of revenge was over. The final, most important step.
There she is, Lysth noticed, and floated towards the crying girl. Serca, if it was dwelling on formalities. But to the spirit, she was just some random human girl. Serca, the girl it banished from the kingdom, was crying near a tree which overshadowed her, in a forest outside the kingdom.
"It's not fair," she sobbed, tears spilling onto her dress, ruining it. "I didn't do anything wrong. It's not fair. I've trusted them and they trusted me. Why won't they believe me?"
Lysth turned itself invisible, so Serca wouldn't know it was there. It was watching her cry, waiting for the right moment to strike.
Serca looked up, towards the direction the spirit was hiding. Obviously, she couldn't see it. Serca's face was covered with tears, her eyes red. Her clothes were muddy and wet, from the drops of her tears, along with her little traveling bag.
The spirit of honesty-and-deception's shadowy outline glowed, as it smiled with mischief.
"Now, I'm useless and can't do anything," she told herself. "I'm banished from the kingdom because of something I didn't do." And she started to cry again.
Oh, don't worry Serca, it thought. You're not completely useless. I still need you for one last thing. Forgive me for banishing you from the Kingdom. I had no other choice. Blame your grandpa, if you want. He caused all of these inconveniences for you, not me.
It floated closer to the girl, as she was crying. It waited until Serca stopped muttering to herself, and took the chance. It went for it.
The spirit whispered in her ear, "It's the Kingdom's fault. They betrayed you. You didn't do anything wrong, but they still banished you from the kingdom."
This wasn't the first time Lysth had whispered into Serca's mind, twisting her thoughts. Back when she became the Chosen One, and was wondering if the decision to become the next Trust Keeper was right, it was Lysth who encouraged her to take it and become the next Trust Keeper.
Serca looked up, her eyes red, but her brows arched in anger. "It is their fault, isn't it? I was innocent. They betrayed me and banished me."
Lysth let out a sly smile. This was exactly what it wanted. Everything was going smoothly so far. Yes, Serca. Good job. That's exactly what I said.
It continued to whisper into the crying girl's ear. "You should get revenge. It isn't fair how they treated you, right? They shouldn't be able to kick you out like that without a punishment. It's only fair if they get punished for something they didn't do, just like what happened to you."
"Yes..." Serca replied, in a trance-like state. "They shouldn't banish me from the Kingdom, for something I didn't do, without consequences. They promised me that they'd believe me. And they broke it. So I'm going to do the same."
She stood up from the ground, tears now drying on her face. When she bent down to touch the ground, the grass went black, which caused a fire to erupt on her. When the fire died, Serca now had a black hood with red accents on, and carried a black staff with a red pomegranate-like jewel on top of it.
With a raspy, cold voice, she spoke: "From now on, I'll be known as Rumara. Since everyone accused me of spreading and twisting their private information, that's exactly what I'll do for them."
Serca, now in the form of Rumara, turned to the nearest Kingdom. She let out an evil smile and floated towards it, no doubt to get started on her revenge, on her new job.
Lysth watched the entire thing, from the transformation until the new spirit disappeared. It let out a smile once Rumara was gone from its sight.
"My work here is done," it said out loud. After two generations, here it was, at last. Everything had gone perfectly, according to plan. With that satisfaction, it too disappeared, looking for another master.
***
Three spirits were created after those events occurred. Which was a lot to be made at one time.
Gos became the spirit of gossip. After enduring most of his life being talked against, behind his back, created the idea of gossiping. Named after Gos, who decided to embrace that quality, hence turning into the spirit of gossip.
Serca still existed, only when she was all calm and collected. She turned into the spirit of secrets. Being the last official Chosen One, she became the collector of private information. She oversaw everyone's secrets like she did when she was the Chosen One. Except now, the only difference was no one knew that she knew their deepest secrets.
And Rumara, Serca's form when she was angry, was the spirit of rumors. Whenever rage came or whenever she lost her cool, she transformed into Rumara. Her job was to spread secrets, whether accurate or not. She would first twist up those events and secrets, because that was exactly what she was accused of in the first place. Whatever accurate or inaccurate news she spread, she made sure it was known to the entire world.
All three spirits, born out of broken promises. All three being betrayed from the things they've been promised of. All of them joined together to form a trio, an alliance: The Creators of Promises.
That was how secrets, gossips, and rumors were created, along with the Creators of Promises.

A/N
This is it folks. We made it to the end.
To think this started as a short story, which I rewrote into a whole novella.
So, I know there are unanswered questions. Will you ever get those answers? Maybe, maybe not... Okay, fine. You might. There isn't going to be a sequel to the book. But there might be a spin-off. Keep a look out for that. I don't know when I'll write it, so you'll just have to wait :) (unless you're from the future and I already wrote it. Then by all means, go check it out!)
If there's anything I can improve on, let me know.
I hope you all enjoyed this story. Thank you so much for reading it. It has been amazing writing this book.
Thank you for reading. Have an amazing day/night.
