5 ~ class 2
A/N: again a chapter with some information. I really like to write some lesson. From this chapter on I will only write the important lessons. Promise.
-
It was the last class of the day. Spells. You were really excited. You wanted to learn about spells, how to use them and all the different types of spells.
'Welcome class, my name is Professor Filius Flitwick. I will be teaching you everything about spells, charms, jinxes and curses. Let's start with some basic information about spells and charms shall we?'
(A/N: INFORMATION UP A HEAD. DON'T KILL ME PLEASE)
'A spell is a magical action often accompanied by an incantation, not always ofcourse, that makes use of the magical force of the wizarding world in order to accomplish extraordinary feats that ordinary people, also called Muggles, cannot perform, for example levitating objects, conjuring fire, or stunning a person. Spells often have some kind of physical representation in the form of light and as such can usually miss, be dodged, or blocked with an object including another spell. The action of performing a spell is referred to as casting or spellwork.'
Again the writing. But it was worth it!
'Normally, spells require three main factors to be properly accounted for in order to succeed: wand movement, incantation and intent. If one does not move their wand in the correct way, does not speak the incantation properly and/or cannot retain their desired outcome in their imagination during casting then the spell will fail or backfire.'
'I know all of this already.' Hermione sighed.
'That cool, I don't... I think it's really interesting.'
'It should be noted that spells can be performed with or without speech and wands, though non-verbal and wandless spells are much more difficult and hence are usually not taught to practitioners until they reach a more advanced level, such as the sixth year of study at Hogwarts. Notable practitioners of non-verbal spells include Albus Dumbledore, Him-How-Must-Not-Be-Named, and Severus Snape, who have also been known to perform wandless spells.'
'Hermione, who is Him-How-Must-Not-Be -Named?' You whispered.
'He is also called the Dark Lord. He is a half-blood wizard who is considered to be the most powerful and dangerous Dark wizard of all time.'
'Most incantations derive from the Latin language, such as Accio but there are also some English incantations, such as Obliviate or Stupefy.'
The pain in my hand!! Aargh school life struggles!!
'A simplified analogy for the differentiation between Transfiguration and Charms is the difference between form and function or matter and energy; one is concerned with what the object is, so Transfigurations, whilst the other is concerned with what the object is doing so a Charm.'
(A/N: DONE :) )
You wrote down everthing and looked at your notes. It was readable. So good enough.
'al right, a lot of information. Any questions..? Non? Shall we just start with some charms? Does anyone know one?'
Ron signed at you. You raised your hand with a shy smile while Hermione raised her hand up high.
'Of course you know one miss Y/L! Come on up. Show us.'
You walked to the front of the class with your wand. You cleared coughed and pointed your wand at a paper.
'Wingardium Leviosa!'
You lifted the paper up. Neville looked at it with an open mouth.
'Very good! That was a charm I wanted to learn you first!'
You slowly put the paper down and went back to your own seat.
'Wingardium Leviosa, is a charm to make objects fly into the air. It's really important to say it the correct way.'
He grabbed his wand and showed how to do it really slow. Everyone did the same. He did this a few times.
'Now you try for real with your own quill.'
You did it and it of course worked. Hermione had it as well. Harry and Ron were struggling and Neville blew up his quill...
'If you have it you can try a different one. It called Avifors. I normally teach it a bit later but it isn't that difficult.'
He slowly shows how to do it. You copy him a few times. You used it on your quill you had some extra quills any way. You coughed and heard Hermione struggle. Professor Flitwick walked towards you.
'Come on, try it.'
'Avifors!'
You couldn't believe that it actually worked. You quill changed into little birds. The flew through the class room. You smiled proudly as Ron and Harry started clapping. They were followed by more students.
'Can I talk to you after class miss Y/L?'
Now you were worried. You nodded. He walked away.
'How?! How in Merlin sake can you do this first try?!'
You looked at Hermione who threw her wand on the table out of anger.
'I don't know... It just... happens. Are you angry at me?'
'No..'
Her facial expressions showed something different.
What did I do wrong? It's not as if I killed someone... or did I? Did I without knowing? O no..!... over thinking again.
'That was it for today. Have fun and I'll see you next lesson!'
Everyone left. When everyone was gone Professor Flitwick sat down next to you.
'Tell me Y/N, have you ever done a spell or charm before?'
'No.. only Wingardium Leviosa. I did it on the train the first time and it just worked. I have no clue why.'
He looked at you.
'Haven't your perants told you before you left?'
You tilted your head a bit.
'No... Every one knows me. Today I learned in the defence against the dark arts lesson that my mom is well known. Even more known then Harry Potter. She was supposed to be killed by Him-How-Must-Not-Be-Named, but she wasn't because she loved me and it left some side effects on me but I have no clue what it all means.'
'That is weird... If you really want to know you should talk to professor Dumbledor. He knows and he will explain.'
'Maybe I will. Thank you.'
He smiled at you.
'Have fun these days, see you next lesson.'
You walked out. You were sunk in your thoughts. Dumbledor knows. You bumbed into someone.
'Sorry...' you mumbled.
You got up and looked at the person you bumbed into. It was Draco.
'O hi Draco, how are you? Did you enjoy the first day?'
'Yeah I did, listen Y/N, I'll talk to you later.' He just walked away.
Was he ignoring you? What did you do this time? You walked after him.
'Draco, did I do something wrong?'
'No, it's nothing Y/N, just leave me alone.'
'There is something. Why aren't you as nice as before?!'
'Hello?! I ask you to leave me alone Y/L!'
You looked him and you formed a "o" with your mouth.
'Did you just... I thought I was your friend!'
'I'm really sorry, I can't be your friend.'
He just walked away leaving you devestated.
Draco's POV
~before classes that day~
Draco woke up from an owl in front of his window. He opened the window and grabbed the paper from is paw.
Dear Draco
Congratulations with getting into Slytherin!
I'm not writing to congratulate you, Pansy wrote me a letter the first day of Hogwarts that you are friends with a Gryffindor. This is not the way this works. You are oposite of each other. What if your dad finds out?
And I also heard that it was Y/N Y/L, you can't do this Draco! Please stop this friendship.
Lots of love,
Your mom
Y/N POV
You walked towards the common room. You still didn't know what was up with Draco. You really didn't know what just happened. You weren't going to tell Hermione, Harry or Ron. They hated Draco.
You walked into the common room and Ron and Harry were sitting there waiting for you.
'Hi guys!' You tried to sound as positive as possible.
'Hi! And what did he say?' Harry asked.
'That if I want to know what is up with me, I have to ask Dumbledor. I don't know if I'm going to do it. Maybe my parents want to tell me. I send them a letter last night.'
'By the way, Hermione told us this morning what happened. That didn't sound really good. If you're going to talk to Dumbledor maybe you should tell him about it.' Ron said concerned.
'Thank you Ron but I'm okay, I promise.'
You walked upstairs to put your books away. You saw Hermione practising the charm you just did.
'Hermione?'
'I can't do it! I will never be as smart as you or your parents!' She fell backwards on the bed.
'Listen...' you sat down next to her. 'I have no clue what is happening. I'm not even trying and it works. You are such a smart and nice girl. It will work out.'
She sat up and sighed.
'Teach me how to do this stupid charm.' She said.
You smiled at her and tried to explain it.
'I'll try..'
She coughed and pointed her wand and her quill.
'Avifors!'
Birds flew through our room. She smiled.
'Finally, thank you so much Y/N.'
'No problem.'
She hugged you and walked down stairs you put away your books and sat down on your bed. Draco kept spooking around on your head. Why? Why would he do this? You were just worrying to much...
