8. Resembling A Teenager
Try to trust me.
It is the most difficult but important part. One can't fully trust anyone that easily. Was I really sane? Dreaming about some mythical creatures. The question was could I really conjure up all that in my mind?
Urgh! This is all so frustrating.
Without thinking much I headed for my class.
******
"Hello." Flake wished while sitting next to me.
"Umm... what are you doing here?" I glanced around. We were alone in the classroom. It was break and everyone was out. I stayed behind to arrange all the unit test papers.
"I want some help." He stated bluntly.
I looked at him. I mean really? Are you asking for help or ordering it?
"So for what little problem are you pestering me?" I am not letting it down.
"I won't call it pestering if I were at your place. I would have called it being lucky. " and with that he winked at me.
My mouth was hanging open. What the beep he just did? Really man! What games are you playing now.
It's been almost two weeks since he arrived and during that time period he avoided me like the yellow plague and suddenly he pops out of thin air being all flirty. What are you trying to do Mr.?
"So apparently my Hindi isn't as good as I might have expected and I am struggling with the Hindu mythology a bit. "
"So? What do you need me to do? " Where is this going?
"So.... I was wondering if you might help me out? " His voice was a bit..... accusing?
"You should have asked Vaishnavi." Seeing the confused expression on his face, I reminded, " Class topper. Got full marks in Hindi. Remember?"
"Ah. Now I remember. But I don't think she could handle my overwhelming presence for long. You know I am afraid she might faint."
Jerk!
"And isn't it your responsibility to help me in classes? "
Ah now I get the accusing.
"'Kay. I'll help you. " I sighed. What other choice do I have? Other than serving him his own beep in a platter.
After half an hour of my efforts to get anything into his thick skull going in vain, I finally give up.
" You said that Mahabharata is filled with morals to become a better being. But till now I couldn't find a single one. " He whined.
Finally some resemblance of a teenager.
I have been explaining him a lesson from our drama book named Mahabharata Ki Ek Sanjh .
"That is because you don't know anything about it." What have I gotten myself into. "I think we need to start from the beginning. And.... " I glanced at my watch. "Only ten minutes are left for the break to end. You will have to wait till the next day."
"But at least you can tell me one important moral that you have learned and then I could say if you were being truthful. " he suggested lamely.
Huh. Okay.
I racked my brain for quite some time.
"Okay. I have one. To do good for the masses, taking the path that is against every rule you have known is not wrong. If you aren't concerned about your well being, if the only path to save the light of goodness is doing something wrong, then, it isn't a sin." All the while, I was looking straight in his eyes.
"So, you mean to say that if needed, you should forget about everything you know and do what is good for everyone? You should break the rules to set everything right?" His eyes were intense like he was trying to figure something out.
My mind instantly wandered back to my dreams and my saviour. Does this applies to me as well? Believing in something that out runs every law of reality to defeat some evil? Is that right. I have been spending my dreams practicing in the dueling arena for almost three weeks but without any success. I know it is because I can't completely give in to my subconscious mind.
Isn't being strong good to the evil? My decision is made. I know what I have to do and I will accomplish it.
Just then the bell rang and I stood up abruptly. I could hear the sound of running feet hitting the corridor floor in the middle school section.
Flake slowly got up and a teasing smile was blooming on his face. "So? Isn't it difficult to handle my presence?"
"Yeah sure it is." I smirked. "But not in the way you are expecting it to be. You are a brainless fellow."
He opened his mouth to say something else in return but our classmates started to return.
"We'll see to it next time. I don't forget things easily."

Sorry to be late but I have created rough drafts of some chapters ahead and I edited the earlier chaps.
I saw some authors saving drafts beforehand and so I do think it won't take much to post in a regular basis.
The next chap would be longer . Promise.
Till then happy Halloween.
Bye!!!
