Chapter 16
(Jack's P.O.V.)
"Welcome to resident McLoughlin!" I say, opening the door for Mark. I let him walk into the house in front of me, and I close and lock the door behind me. He just stands there, looking around.
"I haven't been in a house this big since I lived with my mom." He says, walking in further (granted it was with me slightly pushing him, but eh). I walk around him, walking backwards towards the stairs.
"Come on." I say, urging him to follow me. He does just that and follows me as I run up the stairs, down the hallway, and to the second door on the left. "And this is my room." I say, walking in. Mark follows and looks around. He chuckles, nodding.
"Your room, huh?" He asks. I shrug.
"I told ya! I like green!" I say as he points to my green colored walls. He nods and points to a poster I have.
"And Black Veil Brides." He says, earning a nod. My room isn't anything special. I have a few band posters, green walls, a lot of video game stuff, a shelf of actual video games, some Star Wars things, and that's pretty much it. Oh yeah, and my collection of CDs, in which I am incredibly incredibly proud of. Mark walks over and sits on my black clad bed. I needed something other then green in here. "It's a nice room. Better then mine." He says. I shrug.
"It works." I say, smirking a bit. I throw my backpack on my bed, Mark moving over as to not get hit. "Anyways, I just came up here to get rid of that thing. And to grab a game..." I say, heading over to my shelf of video games. Mark is quiet. "You can keep your bag in here if you want." I say simply and I soon here his bag being placed down on the ground.
"Thanks." He says. I shrug, chuckling.
"It's no problem." I say, turning around with a game in hand. Mark looks at the game questionably.
"What game is it?" He asks. I smile, holding up the game.
"GTA." I say simply. Mark chuckles.
"Oh this will go wonderfully." He says. I motion towards the door, letting him go first. He walks out of the room and down the stairs. Once he gets down there though I run in front of him, guiding him to the basement, otherwise known as my video game hideout. I put GTA in, and I get two controllers. I give one to Mark getting mine ready to play. But he just stares at his.
"Mark. Gotta turn it on." I laugh. He bites his lip and it occurs to me... "Have you never played video games before?" I ask. He has to have played some video games! Like... Come on! They're video games! He looks at me.
"No! I've played them before! When I was... Like... Seven..." He finishes. I shake my head.
"I can't believe it. How do you even know what GTA is then?" I ask. He chuckles.
"YouTube is amazing." He says. I nod slowly.
"Fair enough." I say. And so the next five minutes are just teaching Mark how to use the controller, and how to do stuff in GTA. It's all fairly simple, but he hasn't played anything or used a controller for most of his life. I guess it isn't so simple then... Oh well. We play around for a long time, hours on end, and it isn't all GTA. We go from game to game, just whichever game Mark looked interested in we'd play! The evening was full of fails, laughter, and just overall fun. That is, until one of us decides to look at a clock.
"Holy hell." I say, staring at the time. Mark looks over at me. I look over at him. "Thank god it's a weekend." I chuckle. He frowns.
"What time is it?" He asks. I point to the clock. He looks at it and his eyes widen. "Holy hell!" He exclaims. He then looks back at me. "2 AM? It doesn't feel like it should be 2 AM!" He says. I smile.
"Yeah, I know. Whatever. The only reason I brought it up is... Do you really want me to drive you home tonight?" I ask. It's late and if he's okay with staying here, I will not argue. I don't necessarily feel like driving tonight, especially since I'm so tired, which I didn't even realize till now. Mark shrugs.
"I mean, I don't have anything here, but I can tell how tired you are. You have a guest room?" He asks. I nod, turning off my controller.
"Yeah. Text your brother real quick, I'll turn off the TV and all." I say. He nods and pulls out his phone, starting to type as I walk over to the TV. I first turn off the xbox, then I plug in the controllers, and then I turn off the TV. Simple. I walk back to Mark and I nod towards the stairs.
"Follow me." I say. He nods, following as I walk up the stairs. While walking towards the bedrooms I talk. "So, all the guest rooms are my siblings old rooms so which do you prefer? Space, pink, mechanical gears and crap, or anime?" I ask. Mark chuckles a bit.
"Well, anime's eh, I've always wanted to be an engineer, and space is cool. I'll go with pink, sure why not." He finishes. This just makes me laugh of course. However, I lead him to my youngest older sister's room without argue. I open the door.
"And behold the pink." I say, chuckling. He walks in and shrugs.
"It isn't as bad as I expected." He says. I look around the pink clad room. I bite my lip.
"I'm a little scared to know what you were expecting." I say. He shrugs again and walks over to the bed, sitting down. I just stand in the doorway. It's silent for a minute. Until he sighs.
"You know... Two weeks ago I wouldn't even imagine us talking at this point, and here I am spending the night at your house." He says, smiling a bit. I nod.
"Two weeks ago I hoped we'd be talking but I wasn't sure." I say honestly. He laughs.
"You didn't have a plan to seduce me or anything?" He asks. I roll my eyes.
"No I didn't. My only plan was to Kik message you and see what happened from there." I say. He looks at me, just staring at me for a second. Then...
"I don't believe you." I just shrug.
"To bad. It's the truth." I say. He nods slowly.
"Okay. Whatever." He says. I nod.
"Alright. Well I'm going to sleep. Night." I say, walking away. Mark waves.
"Night." He says, and I close the bedroom door behind me. Then I walk to my own bedroom and as soon as my head hits the pillow... I'm out.
