2016 ― Tree Hill, North Carolina
Haley left to join Chris Keller on tour.
Logan wasn't surprised, but she hated how it affected Nathan. He was devastated, she had never seen him so upset. Since Haley left, he had been leaning on her a bit more and wasn't looking at her with as much disappointment as he had been before, but every time she left for Dan's for the weekend and when she came back on Sunday nights, he always had something snarky to say. She wanted to tell her brother the truth, but she knew he wouldn't be able to let it go. He'd confront Dan, or their Mom about sleeping with Keith and things might get worse.
She couldn't risk it.
She was currently at Dan's house now, it was a Saturday morning. She and Lucas were in the kitchen and she was glad Dan wasn't down there. Every time she was there, all he did was try to engage her in conversation, but she didn't want to talk to him. Throughout the weekend, she either stayed holed up in her room on the phone with Roman or was in Nathan's room with Lucas. She only came out to eat and go to the bathroom.
She didn't want to engage with Dan at all.
"You know, if the Bogans keep drilling threes, the cats will be tough to beat. How'd you sleep?" Dan Scott asked when he came down for breakfast. He had made them all breakfast, but the twins weren't eating.
"Fine," Lucas said.
"I didn't," Logan said. She didn't sleep at all. She spent half the night purging over the toilet because being in the house itself gave her an uncontrollable urge to binge. She felt horrible. She only slept for about 3 hours total.
"Great, both of you grab a plate," Dan said.
"Not hungry," Logan said.
"I, uh... normally get something from the cafe on the way to the river court," Lucas said.
"Come on, both of you, sit. We're civilized here," Dan said as he raised his coffee mug, and then the front door opened. Logan knew it was her Mom. She knew her mom was probably thrilled that Dan told her she had semi-moved back in. She was only here on weekends. She didn't know how she felt about Lucas being there too.
"Dan? I'm home," Deb called out as she walked in.
"We're in the kitchen, Deb," Dan responded. When Deb walked in, she stopped short and a smile spread onto her face when she saw her daughter. Then she noticed Lucas there too and she was so shocked that her smile started to fall.
"Oh... Lucas," Deb said.
"Hey," Lucas said as he looked down at the ground. Logan could immediately tell her brother was uncomfortable because of how her mom reacted to him.
"Uh, where... where's Nathan?" Deb asked.
"Nathan's not here, Deb. Logan has temporarily moved back in, she'll be here on the weekends, and Lucas will also be staying with us for a while," Dan said. Deb looked at Logan with a smile on her face.
"Really? You'll be here every weekend?" Deb asked.
"Looks like it," Logan said as she forced a smile on her face.
"And what!?" Deb asked about Lucas staying there for a while too, which Lucas immediately onto.
"You didn't tell her," Lucas said.
"You two better get going to whatever you had planned today," Dan said. Logan looked at Lucas and nodded.
"Roman will be here any minute, you go ahead," Logan said. Roman was picking her up and they were going to spend the day with Josh, June, and Isabella, their mom, and Leo, their stepdad. Logan loved spending time with Roman's family, and his family loved her too. Lucas nodded as he left out of the front door. Logan turned to her Mom. "Way to make my brother feel welcome, Mom," She said sarcastically.
"She's right, Deb... that was a great way to make him feel right at home," Dan said. Deb turned to him and shook her head.
"But this isn't his home, Dan. What were you thinking? I'm gone for three days and you invited Lucas to stay here without consulting me? I'm happy Logan will be here, even if it is just on the weekends, but Lucas in Nathan's room?" Deb asked.
"Hey, Lucas is my son too, Deb, and before you start getting upset. There is some good news," Dan said. Logan raised an eyebrow.
"Like what? Keith and Karen are moving into the guest room?" Logan asked sarcastically.
"Don't you have plans for the day?" Dan asked.
"Roman isn't here yet," Logan said as she shrugged. Dan pointed over to the bowl where the family kept their car keys.
"You have your own car," Dan said.
"So did Mom when you two were dating, but I'm sure you still picked her up and took her places, didn't you?" Logan asked. When Dan had no response, because the answer was yes, Logan smirked triumphantly and turned back to her phone.
"Haley left Nathan," Dan said. Logan watched as her mother tried to contain the smile that wanted to spread on her face. Logan rolled her eyes and then saw a text pop up from Roman saying that he was outside.
"Now my ride is here. See you guys later," Logan said as she hopped off the stool she was sitting on.
"I love you, honey!" Deb called out after her.
"Yep. You too!" Logan said before she walked out of the door and got into Roman's car. She greeted her boyfriend with a kiss. "Hey," She said.
"Hey, you ready?" Roman asked and she nodded.
"Yes, I always love spending time with your family," Logan said, which made Roman smile. He loved seeing Logan with his family as well. His mom and June adore her, and he loves how soft and gentle she is with them.
"They love you too, and June has been texting the family group chat nonstop asking how far away we are," Roman said and Logan laughed.
"Then let's hit the road."

"So, how's Nathan doing?" Josh Castillo asked Logan as he, June, and Roman were all in the living room together while Isabella and Leo were making lunch. Logan sighed as she looked at Josh.
"Not good. Haley leaving has really strung him out. I've never seen him like that before," Logan said. Roman nodded in agreement.
"Same. As long as I've known Nathan, I've seen him upset about things, but not like this," Roman said as he shook his head.
"But why did Haley leave?" June asked.
"To chase a dream, I guess," Roman said.
"Yeah, conveniently with a guy she kissed who wasn't her husband," Logan muttered bitterly. June's eyes widened while Josh laughed a little.
"Yeah, that definitely doesn't help," Josh said.
"So she's into Chris Keller now?" June asked.
"Who knows, at this point. Between this and Nathan partially icing me out because I spend the weekends at our parent's house, and this whole thing with Keith and Jules... which none of you are allowed to tell anyone," Logan said as she pointed a finger at the siblings.
"Scout's honor," Josh said.
"Cross my heart, hope to die," June said as she moved her fingers across her chest in a cross-motion.
"I'm just so tired of dealing with everyone else's drama," Logan said as she groaned and leaned back against Roman. He chuckled as he kissed the top of her head.
"Which is why you're going to enjoy a drama-free day with us. Isabella and I were thinking after lunch, why don't we go take the boat out?" Leo said. Josh, June, and Roman all shared a smile.
"I can run to the apartment and grab a suit real quick," Logan said.
"Oh, nonsense, Lo. I think I have some old swimsuits that are your size that you can borrow," Isabella said and Logan smiled.
"Thank you, Bella," Logan said. When she tried being formal the first time she met Isabella and Leo, they insisted that she call them Bella and Leo.
"The boat is a great idea," Josh said.
"Last time I had a boat day, I found out my Dad had a heart attack," Logan said as she laughed.
"Well, let's hope no emergencies happen today," Roman said as he laughed.
"I'm all out of room for them anyway," Logan said and they all laughed.
"Come on, kids, let's eat."

Once the weekend was over, and Logan was back at her apartment, she felt a lot better than she did when the weekend had started. The day with the Castillo family was exactly what she needed to reset and mentally prepare herself to deal with Nathan's mood for the week. Now she was at school. She was walking with Brooke and Peyton. They were discussing Haley's departure.
"Okay, I still cannot believe that Haley left Nathan for Chris," Brooke said.
"She didn't, okay? She left for herself. The tour is an amazing opportunity," Peyton said. Logan was standing between Brooke and Peyton, and they all had their arms linked.
"Yeah, to screw up her marriage," Logan said and Brooke laughed.
"Okay, just because she's married doesn't mean she has to give up her dreams, okay? She's really talented," Peyton said. Logan knows that. She never said Haley had to give up her dream just because she's married.
The way she went about it was just really shitty.
"I know she is, and that's great, but you don't think Chris has anything to do with it?" Brooke asked. Peyton shook her head.
"No, I don't. She's not into him. She told me and Lo that," Peyton said.
"Okay, let's think about what my brother was when Haley met him," Logan said.
"Good looking, rude, sexy, arrogant, and talented," Brooke said and Logan nodded.
"Okay, right, like Chris," Peyton made the connection.
"Yeah, and then Haley changed Nathan, for the better, of course. But, I'm thinking that maybe she misses that challenge," Logan said. Brooke and Peyton nodded.
"You really think she changed Nathan?" Peyton asked and Logan laughed.
"Is the Nathan we know now the same Nathan you dated?" Logan asked. Peyton quickly shook her head and Logan laughed. "Exactly," She said.
"Yeah... before Haley, Nathan was like... the bad boy of Tree Hill. Now he's just... pod Nathan. It's sad."

When Logan got back to the apartment after school, she sighed. The place was a mess, it smelled ripe, and she knew Nathan was here. Logan picked up the living room, cleaned up the kitchen, and lit a couple of candles while opening the window to get the ripe smell out. Then she walked ot Nathan's bedroom door and stood in the doorway.
"You look like ass," Logan said. Nathan turned around and Logan sighed. He hasn't shaved, his room was a mess. There were clothes all over the floor and Logan could tell the clothes he currently had on were dirty. His hair was lying flat on his head.
"You should smell me," He said as he laughed a little.
"If the living room was a sneak peek, I'm good," Logan said and Nathan laughed. "I haven't seen you around school and even though we live together, I still barely see you, and I'm worried about you," She said.
"Now isn't really a good time," Nathan said and she sighed.
"Nate, you're just playing on your xbox, and we need to talk. I know you're missing Haley," She said. Nathan shrugged, trying to play it off like he didn't care, but Logan could see through that.
"Yeah, it's only 12 weeks. I'll be fine. We'll uh... work it out when she gets back," He said. Logan's frown got deeper as she watched him.
"Nate, I'm worried about you," Logan said.
"Well, don't be. How are weekends at home, sis? You love it as much as you used to?" Nathan asked. Logan sighed. This was the duality of Nathan she had to deal with. Sometimes he allowed her to comfort him, other times, he made smart remarks about her spending her weekends at their old home, and he never bothered to ask why, knowing how much she hates it there.
"Nate...-" Before she could get another word out, Nathan had stood up.
He slammed his bedroom door in her face.

"Alright. I know I've been a little busy with the election, but how could you hold out on me like this?" Brooke Davis asked when she caught up to Logan and Peyton who were walking in the hallway. Logan raised an eyebrow.
"What am I holding out on?" Logan asked.
"Not you, blondie, the other one," Brooke said.
"What?" Peyton asked.
"Don't play dumb with us! You've been playing house with Jake Jagielski... and you weren't going to tell us!?" Brooke exclaimed. Logan's eyes widened as she looked over at Peyton. In the midst of all the drama she had been dealing with, she didn't know anything that was going on with her friends and she felt horrible.
"That? Oh that's nothing," Peyton said while shaking her head.
"Oh! I would say that living in a house together with a baby is definitely something," Logan said. Peyton let out a shaky laugh as her friend continued. "Next thing we know, you're going to tell us that you two have been sharing a bed," Logan said.
Peyton remained silent.
"P. Sawyer!" Brooke exclaimed. She turned and stopped a random freshman passing by and handed him her campaign posters. "Hey! Freshman, hang these up for me, thanks!" She said and then she latched back onto Peyton's arm.
"Okay, give us details," Logan said. Peyton laughed while shaking her head.
"Sadly, there aren't any. Jake's made it very clear that he doesn't have time for anything detaily," Peyton said. Brooke and Logan shook their heads. Logan knew if Jake wasn't into Peyton, he wouldn't be sharing her bed with her.
"Okay, no, forget what he says because I have seen the way that boy looks at you," Brooke said and Logan nodded.
"So have I. There's no way he would be staying at your house and sharing your bed if feelings weren't there," Logan said and Brooke nodded.
"Okay, Brooke... don't you have health class?" Peyton asked as the bell rang. Brooke shook her head.
"I'm healthy enough!" Brooke said, which made Logan laugh. "We have watched you mope over this guy for weeks. Now you have him, as Lo mentioned, in your bed," Brooke said. Peyton raised an eyebrow.
"So?" She asked and Logan gently squeezed her arm.
"So, take a chance."

After school, Logan made her way back home and she took a deep breath. She wasn't going to stop trying with Nathan. He may be upset with her, and she knows he has a right to be since she hasn't told him the complete truth, but that doesn't mean she was going to give up on him when he was in the state he was in. She had also heard about him bringing malt liquor to class and getting suspended, so she figured she could start with that.
However, she was surprised when she reached the front door of her apartment and saw her parents and Lucas standing there. "What are you guys doing here?" Logan asked.
"I came to see how Nate was doing since I was in class when he... your parents just got here," Lucas said and Logan sighed. This is not what Nathan needed right now.
"We got a call from the principal," Deb said and Logan sighed.
"Yeah... I was just going to check on him, but since Logan is home, maybe we should just let her...-" Dan cut Lucas off.
"...-Nonsense. We're his parents, you two are his siblings. We should all be here for this," Dan said. Logan shook her head. She knew this wasn't going to go well. Dan stepped up and knocked on the door, which irritated Logan further since she had a key. Nathan came to the door after a few moments and he did not look amused.
"Look who it is; the Scott Family," He sneered and Logan sighed.
"I literally just got home and found the three of them out here," Logan said as she shook her head and walked inside.
"I'm sorry, I thought my son lived here. He kinda looks like you, only less pathetic!" Dan snapped as he forced his way inside. Deb and Lucas slowly followed behind him.
"We heard about Haley, honey," Deb said and Logan scoffed.
"Like you care!" Nathan snapped.
"We do care, honey!" Deb responded.
"Right, Mom, because you showered Haley with hugs and love, right? And wait, I remember, at the reception party we threw for them, it was me who stepped up to meet Haley's parents since you pretty much called them dumbasses for allowing their daughter to get married," Logan snapped.
"Logan is right. Sorry to disappoint you guys, but she'll be back in a few weeks," Nathan said. Logan knew he was just saying that to save face, but she hoped he was right because he was going downhill fast.
"Look, Nate...-" Lucas started to say but Nathan cut him off.
"...-You can shut up, by the way," Nathan snapped.
"How can you live like this, Nathan!? This place is a pigsty! And you're skipping school, and then when you do show up for school, you're drinking in class," Deb said.
"It's not worth it, son. Pissing your life away over some girl," Dan said. That was a low blow and they all knew it. They also knew that's why he said it.
"Some girl!? She's my wife, Dad!" Nathan snapped as he stepped up to Dan. With the smirk that came onto Dan's face, Logan knew her Dad was about to say something nasty.
"Really? Well someone may want to tell her that," He said. Before anybody could move or speak, Nathan had punched his dad in the face.
"Hey! Come on," Lucas said as he stepped between them and backed Nathan away from Dan because when Dan recovered, he took a step toward Nathan. Lucas moved Dan back while Logan walked over to nathan and sighed.
"Nice punch, son. It's good to see there's still a man in there somewhere," He said. Nathan sighed and shook his head before walking out of the apartment. Logan turned and looked at her parents.
"Thank you, so much for making things worse. I want you both gone by the time we get back," Logan snapped before she walked out of the door and followed after her brother. "Nathan, wait!" Logan called out, but he didn't stop. Logan jogged until she caught up with him and grabbed his arm. "Nathan!" She said.
"What!? What do you want!? I can't believe you would bring them to the apartment. Surely you, of all people, knew that wouldn't end well," Nathan said and Logan rolled her eyes.
"I didn't bring them! I told you when I got home, the three of them were already outside, and I doubt Lucas brought them either. The only reason Mom and Dad came is because you decided to be the idiot to bring liquor to class and then drink it!" Logan snapped.
"At least it wasn't as idiotic as moving back in with our parents part-time, right? You and your twin brother, huh?" Nathan said and Logan rolled her eyes before shoving him.
"Snap the hell out of it, Nathan! Take shots at me all you want, but trying to bring me down won't bring Haley back and you know it," Logan snapped. She roughly hit his shoulder as she walked past him and back in the direction of their apartment.
She was pissed.

Logan had returned to her house to talk to Lucas to make sure he was okay, and then she called Roman. She sat underneath the basketball hoop in the driveway, thinking about Nathan as Roman's car pulled up. Lucas stayed outside with her and then when Roman got there, he returned to the house after they greeted each other.
Roman got on the ground, sat beside her, and then turned his head to her. "What's up?" He asked.
"He hates me," Logan said about Nathan and then explained to Roman what happened after school. Roman frowned as he shook his head.
"Nathan doesn't hate you. We both know he's not capable of that," Roman said.
"Apparently, he is," Logan said.
"Look, I know this doesn't make what he said not hurt... but he didn't mean it. He misses Haley and we all know that," Roman said and Logan rolled his eyes.
"That's why I told him trying to bring me down isn't going to bring her back," Logan said and Roman nodded.
"You're right and he'll realize that. Just don't stop trying to be there for him. There's only so much I can do. He needs you too," Roman said. Logan nodded before scooting closer and laying her head on his shoulder.
Then the couple saw another car pulling up in the driveway. Logan sighed as she saw Nathan get out of the car. She knew this wasn't going to be good. She didn't even go in the house, Lucas came outside to talk to her. She told him what happened when she stormed out after Nathan and she wanted to make sure he was okay, but she had refused to go inside or talk to her parents.
"What are you doing here?" Logan asked as she stood up from the ground.
"When you didn't come back to the apartment, I figured you'd be here, and I needed to see it for myself," Nathan said as Lucas walked outside from the house.
"See what?" Lucas asked.
"This... the two of you, here," Nathan said.
"Look, Nathan, it's complicated... and Logan only came over to talk, she's not staying," Lucas said.
"Yeah, because it's not Friday," Nathan said and Logan sighed. She wanted to tell Nathan the truth. He's their brother and Keith is his uncle too, she should know what Dan is holding over them. Part of Logan was hurt that Nathan wasn't suspicious that something was going on. Karen knew right away something was wrong when Lucas expressed wanting to live with Dan. She knew immediately that Dan had to be holding something over him.
Logan thought Nathan knew her well enough to come to the same conclusion, but apparently, he didn't.
"You're a fraud, Lucas... both of you, actually. There's nothing complicated about it," Nathan said. Now Logan was starting to get angry.
"I thought you knew me better than that," Logan said as she scoffed. "When Lucas told Karen that he wanted to move in with Dan, she immediately knew something couldn't be right, but you, my own brother, who I have gone through all of this with wasn't even the least bit suspicious when you heard? That's the worst part," Logan said. Nathan's face faltered a bit, trying to figure out what she meant. Karen knew something he didn't.
"Look, why don't you just come inside?" Lucas asked and Nathan laughed while shaking his head.
"Oh, so now you're going to invite me into my own house?" Nathan asked.
"It's not even like that, Nate," Lucas said.
"No, it is like that! You do realize I wouldn't be in this situation if it wasn't for you? If you would've just stayed in your place at the Rivercourt, I would've never met Haley and Logan would still be my sister," Nathan snapped. Logan frowned as she listened to him. "You ruined my life man," He said.
"Nate," Logan said, this time she sounded more sad. She knew by the sister comment, he meant, twin. If they had never met Lucas, they may have still found out the truth, but certainly not when they did. Or maybe if they never formed relationships with Lucas, they never would've known the truth.
She didn't know.
Nathan glared at his brother. "You better watch your back," Nathan snapped. Roman had been standing as well and he squeezed Logan's hand.
"I'll talk to him," He said. He kissed his girlfriend on the cheek before getting into Nathan's car with him, and then Nathan pulled off. Logan sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair. Then her Mom opened the front door.
"What did he want?" Deb asked. Lucas and Logan looked at each other before sighing.
"Haley," Logan said. Deb nodded before going back inside. Logan looked at Lucas and tossed him Roman's keys. "Follow me to his brother's house so we can drop his car off and then I'll drop you back here," Logan said. Lucas nodded as they walked towards the cars.
"Alright."
⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎⇎
Once they had Roman's car back at Josh's place and Logan dropped Lucas back off at the Scott house, she texted Roman that his car was back at Josh's and he thanked her and Lucas for taking his car back. Then she went back to her apartment. She knocked on Nathan's doorway to his room, and he looked up.
"What are you doing here?" He asked.
"Well, one, I live here. Two, I'm resisting the urge to smack you. Can I come in?" She asked. Nathan shrugged and Logan walked inside of his room and sat on the bed with him.
"Lo...-" She cut him off.
"...-Nope, me first. I know you don't understand Luke's decision to move in the house, and my decision to be there only on the weekends, but if you're thinking it's some twisted twin siblings living with their dad kind of fantasy, you're way off," Logan said. Nathan sighed as he looked at her. He was still thinking about the comment she made about Karen immediately knowing something was off.
"You said Karen immediately knew something was wrong and that I should've too," Nathan said. Logan nodded.
"I stand by that," Logan said.
"Then what's going on? Why did you and Lucas go there?" Nathan asked. Logan sighed. She didn't know what he would do with the information if she told him everything.
"We did it to protect someone," Logan said.
"Who? Me? Because I don't need protection from them," He said.
"Obviously, not you. The only person you need protection from is yourself," Logan said as she rolled her eyes and then sighed. "Dad has something bad on Uncle Keith. Lucas and I can't let Dad hurt him," Logan said.
"Then what's the complicated part?" Nathan asked.
"Well, it's that I can't tell you everything, at least not yet... and the reason that I am only there on the weekends and didn't fully move back in is because my binging urges get stronger when I'm in that house. Just know that Luke and I aren't there willingly," Logan said. Nathan nodded as she stood up and walked to the door.
"Logan, wait," He said. She turned around in the doorway and raised an eyebrow. "I'm sorry for the things I said to you earlier. I was mad and hurt, and I didn't mean it. It's not an excuse, though. I know I shouldn't have said those things. They were unfair and mean low blows. I'm sorry," He said and Logan nodded.
"Thank you. I forgive you," He said.
"I love you. You know that, right?" He said and she nodded.
"I love you too, and I would hug you, but you still smell like ass. So take a few showers, and don't ever let the living room or kitchen get that disgusting again," She said and Nathan laughed.
"Okay, deal."
