2016 Tree Hill, North Carolina

Nathan Scott stayed at his brother's house after the beach house party after the Formal. He didn't want to go back to the apartment, and he didn't know if Logan had gone back either or if she and Roman stayed the night at the beach house and got up early the next morning, but he knew he couldn't go back. Logan Scott entered Lucas' room through his back door and she had the four-cup holder with three cups of coffee inside.

"Good morning, brothers," Logan said as she walked inside. She noticed Nathan on the ground on an air mattress while Lucas was sitting at his desk. "I brought caffeine," She said.

"Oh, I love you so much," Nathan said as he reached his hand out for one. Logan laughed as she handed him a coffee cup and then she walked over to Lucas' desk and set the cup holder down. Lucas took his coffee and then Logan grabbed hers.

"I know... So, does your wife know you stayed here last night?" Logan asked. Nathan rolled his eyes, which Logan took as a no. "Of course not," She said.

Then Lucas' phone started ringing. "Speaking of. It's Hales," Lucas said. Logan told him to put it on speaker, which he did as he answered the call. "Haley!" He said.

"Hey, I'm sorry to bother you so early, um... Nathan and I had a fight last night and he didn't come home, so I was just wondering if either you or Logan knew where he was. I'm sure Logan should be there by now, I saw her this morning and she told me she was heading over there," Haley said.

"Yeah, I'm here. We talked to him," Logan said.

"He's okay," Lucas added.

"Oh, well... Do either of you know where he is?" Haley asked. The siblings looked at their brother and Nathan shook his head, indicating that he didn't want Haley to know he was there. Logan looked at Lucas who shook his head, indicating that he didn't want to lie to Haley. Logan rolled her eyes and held her hand out for the phone. Logan knew it was bad to lie to Haley, especially after she refused to lie to Nathan for Haley. Although she loves Haley, Nathan is her brother, so she would always have his back first and foremost.

"No, we haven't seen him, but when I talked to him on the phone last night, he was fine," Logan said. She could hear the disappointment in Haley's sigh.

"Okay, well... the next time either of you talk to him, can you... ask him to come home, please?" Haley asked. Logan could hear in her voice that she felt horrible about what happened, so of course, she would tell Nathan to man up and speak with his wife.

"Yeah, of course. Look, Haley, don't worry. Nathan is a tough little cookie. I'm sure he's fine, okay?" She said and Haley laughed.

"Alright. Thanks, Lo," Haley said, and then she ended the call.

"Tough little cookie? Seriously?" Nathan asked.

"I just lied to your wife for you and me calling you a 'tough little cookie,' is the problem you took away from the scenario?" Logan asked. Lucas started laughing while Nathan shook his head.

"Well, thank you for covering for me," He said.

"You're welcome. But you need to man up. Go home and talk to your wife. Don't end up like our parents," Logan said. Nathan scowled at his sister and Lucas laughed.

"Logan has a point. It didn't sound like Haley was going to school anyway," Lucas said.

"Yeah, why would they have the Formal on a Sunday?" Nathan asked.

"I don't know... to keep students from partying... getting wasted...-" Lucas trailed off and Logan picked up on his thought.

"...-Arguing with their wives," She said.

"Man, you two really are twins," Nathan said as he rolled his eyes. The three of them laughed, but then the air got a bit awkward after that joke and they all could feel it.

"Guys, we're gonna be okay, right? I mean, even though I am Luke's twin, it doesn't mean I love him more than you, Nate. We grew up together, we grew up as twins, so in my heart, you'll always be my twin... Hell, if anyone ever asks, I'm telling them we're triplets," Logan said and both boys smiled.

"Yeah. We're gonna be fine. Tell me something good. How did things go with Anna and Roman?" Nathan asked.

"I told him about the Arrhythmia," Logan said.

"How'd he take it?" Lucas asked.

"He almost lost his shit like the two of you did, but I was able to calm him. I understand that it's a lot to deal with, especially on top of having an eating disorder, and I know all of you are worried about me. But we'll be okay. All of us will. I will. I promise," Logan said. Her brothers nodded as they smiled at her.

"Good," They said.

"So, what about you, Luke? How'd it go with Anna?" Logan asked.

"Let's just say we didn't end the night together," Lucas said. Nathan and Logan looked at each other before turning back to Lucas.

"Who'd you end up with?" Nathan asked. Lucas opened his mouth to answer the question, but then there was a knock on the door. Logan had moved herself to sit on Lucas' bed, Luke was still at his desk and Nathan was still on the air mattress on the floor. The three of them looked at the door from their positions to see who was walking in.

Brooke Davis.

"Only in Tree Hill," Nathan said as he shook his head and Logan started laughing. Brooke looked around the room, took in the three siblings, and raised an eyebrow.

"Ew, the three of you do realize that you're all related, right?" Brooke asked.

"And good morning to you too," Logan said with a smile.

"Hi, Brooke," Nathan said.

"Triple ew if Tutor Wife is here," Brooke said. The three siblings laughed while shaking their heads.

"She's not. What's up?" Lucas asked.

"Um... my car is now out of commission, thanks to my jealous, spiteful stain of a neighbor, and I was sort of thinking that... you might want to walk to school together," She said and then turned to Logan and Nathan. "Unless you're waiting for your toys over here," She said. Logan rolled her eyes, but she was laughing.

"Nope. You kids go ahead. I'm picking Roman up," Logan said.

"And then letting him drive for the rest of the day?" Brooke asked and Logan smiled.

"You know it," Logan said. Brooke smiled.

"I'll catch up with you guys later," Nathan said. Brooke nodded as she and Lucas left, and then Logan looked at her brother.

"6 months ago, if someone would've told me you'd have a sleepover at Luke's, I would've called them insane," Logan said. Nathan laughed as he shook his head.

"I know... it seems like Lucas has been in our lives longer than he hasn't," Nathan said and Logan nodded.

"Look... I know I gave Haley a hard time, but you need to work it out with her, Nate. I love her, I love you, and I know you two love each other. I don't want the two of you to turn into our parents," Logan said.

"We won't," Nathan said.

"Do you remember when I told you marriage is a big deal and I don't want you to wake up one day and regret your decision?" She asked.

"I don't regret it," He said.

"Good."

"It's just... during our argument, she made me upset. It was like she was talking down on me, or talking at me, saying that she can chase her dream, but I'm not chasing mine," Nathan said.

"Wait, what do you mean you're not chasing yours?" Logan asked.

"I rejected High Flyers, Lo," Nathan said. Logan's eyes widened and she slapped him on the back of the head. "Ow! What the hell!?" He exclaimed.

"You did what!?" Logan yelled.

"I didn't want to be away from Haley for three months," He said.

"And I don't want to be away from you or Roman for three months, because you and I have never been apart for that long, but High Flyers? You and Roman have talked about going to that camp since we were 7. You can't not go. You worked way too hard for this, Nathan. You deserve it," Logan said. Nathan sighed.

"I know, but...-" Logan cut him off.

"...-No, buts, Nathan. You're going to that camp. Even if I have to drag you to Florida myself," Logan said and Nathan laughed.

"I love you," Nathan said. Logan smiled as she stood up from the bed, leaned down, and kissed the top of Nathan's head before walking to the door.

"I love you too. Talk to your wife, Nathan."

At school that day, someone painted, 'Dyke' on Peyton's locker, but they didn't know who did it. Not much else happened at school and after school, Roman and Logan went to Luke's house to hang out. The three of them were in his room. Lucas was on his bed reading a book, while Roman and Logan were sharing a lounge chair. It was long enough to rest your legs up. Logan was seated between Roman's legs and leaning back against him.

She was also reading a book. There was a knock on the door and the three of them looked up as Haley walked in. She looked between the twins and she didn't look happy. "Can I give you a piece of advice?" She asked.

"Nice to see you too, Hales," Lucas said.

"The next time you want to lie about something, you might want to make sure Karen is in on it. She told me about Nathan sleeping here last night," Haley said. Logan shrugged while Lucas laughed.

"Haley, Nathan just needed some time. If it were you, Lucas and I would've done the same," Logan said. Haley opened her mouth to say something, but quickly shut it when they heard yelling.

"Lucas Eugene and Logan May Scott!" Karen Roe yelled as she was making her way toward Lucas' room. Everyone froze when they heard the anger in her voice. Logan quickly sat up from against Roman and he stood up from the chair and went to Lucas' desk chair instead. Lucas and Logan shared a look.

"That sounds bad," Lucas said.

"What did I do?" Logan asked.

"Eugene?" Haley asked amused. Karen walked in, her eyes narrowed as she looked at her son. Logan could tell she was pissed.

"Why would you lie to me?" Karen asked.

"Mom, what are you talking about?" Lucas asked.

"Dan's heart condition... is it genetic?" Karen asked. Logan and Lucas looked at each other and Logan gave him a knowing look.

"Yes," The twins said.

"Why didn't you tell me?" She asked. Both Lucas and Logan remained silent as Karen continued. "What kind of doctor doesn't call me!?" She exclaimed.

"Well, since I'm legally emancipated, I'm also not legally obligated to give the doctor your, Mom, or Dad's numbers, but I was going to tell you guys my results regardless," Logan said as she shrugged. After she answered, Karen turned to Lucas for his explanation.

"Mom, I told the doctor you were in Florence," Lucas said.

"Why? When there's a 50% chance you have a genetic heart defect!" Karen said. Haley immediately turned to the twins with wide eyes.

"Nathan...-" Logan cut her off.

"...-Is fine. He doesn't have it. We took the test," Logan said. Haley nodded and Karen turned to Lucas.

"But you didn't?" She asked.

"Who told you?" Lucas asked.

"You're taking the test," Karen said.

"No. I'm not," Lucas said.

"Are you out of your mind!? How can you be so reckless and cavalier about a potentially fatal condition!?" Karen yelled at him. Logan noticed that Haley and Roman looked very uncomfortable and she was too, but she would feel bad leaving Lucas to get yelled at by himself.

"I'm gonna go home," Haley said as she cleared her throat.

"Me too," Roman said. He gave his girlfriend a quick peck on the cheek before he and Haley walked out of the house. Karen turned to Logan.

"I'm glad you don't have HCM, but were you going to mention the arrhythmia?" Karen asked. Logan swallowed hard as she nodded.

"Yeah, I was just trying to figure out how to tell everyone," Logan said.

"You have medicine?" Karen asked.

"Yeah, I picked it up the day I got the diagnosis," Logan said. Karen nodded and she turned back to Lucas and she still looked pissed.

"You're going to give me the name of the doctor that you've spoken with and you're packing a bag because I'm driving you to that test," Karen said. She walked over to Lucas' drawer and opened the top one and Lucas stood up from his best.

"No! I'm not taking the test, I don't want to know!" Lucas said as he raised his voice.

"Why not!?' Karen yelled.

"For lots of reasons. Basketball... the way I want to live my life," Lucas said.

"Lucas, basketball is a game. Now, I am glad that you have a talent, but do you really think that I will put a game before your life!?" Karen yelled. Lucas shook his head and scoffed when Karen said basketball was just a game.

"I would," Lucas siad.

"Lucas...-" Logan was cut off by Karen.

"Oh, grow up!" She yelled as she shook her head. "That tragic hero crap only works in the movies, and you know what they don't show you after they fade out? The hero's mother putting her foot up his ass!" Karen snapped. Logan was thinking she should've left with her boyfriend because she had no idea how to de-escalate this situation.

"Mom, you can threaten me all you want, but you can't make me take that test," Lucas said. Karen slammed his drawer shut and turned to face him.

"I sure as hell can! You think about that! Until you come to your senses, your basketball days are over!" She snapped. Lucas and Logan's eyes widened. Neither of them expected her to say that.

"Mom!" Lucas said.

"Karen, don't you think that's a bit...-" Logan cut off when she saw the look of rage in Karen's eyes.

"I understand you want to stand up for your brother, but stay out of this," Karen said. Logan nodded and looked at Lucas apologetically. Then Karen turned to Lucas. "You need parental permission to play, and you just lost yours." She said and then she walked out.

Lucas looked after his Mom, stunned.

"So, Lucas can't play at all?" Roman Castillo asked his girlfriend as they were lying in her bed. She was back at the apartment. She had her head resting on Roman's chest while he had his arm wrapped around her.

"I guess not. Karen was still fuming when I left. She's upset with me for not telling her about my results and pissed at Lucas for not taking the test at all," Logan said and Roman laughed.

"I don't blame her... if it were my kid, I'd be upset too," Roman said.

"And that's fair. I never said her anger wasn't justified. I also don't like that Lucas is willing to sacrifice his life over a game. It's not fair to any of us that love him. Me, Nathan, Haley, Karen, Keith," Logan said as she shook her head.

"Speaking of life and heart conditions, did you take your medicine?" Roman asked.

"Not yet, but it's in my bathroom, in the cabinet behind the mirror," Logan said. Roman nodded and the couple sat up. Roman got out of bed and left the room to go to the bathroom to get Logan's medication. Then she heard footsteps coming toward her room and assumed it was Roman. "That was quick," She said and then she saw Peyton.

"Hey... what was quick?" Peyton asked.

"Nothing. Hey, I was going to call you in a bit. Did I conjure you up in my mind?" Logan teased, and then she saw the expression on Peyton's face, her friend wasn't happy.

"Um... I'm sorry to just drop by. Nate let me in. I just need somebody to talk to," Peyton said. That's when Logan noticed her eyes were watering as well. She scooted to the edge of her bed and patted the spot next to her for Peyton to sit down, which she did.

"What's wrong?" Logan asked.

"I just... I need you, Lo. There's so much stuff piling up and I don't think I can handle it anymore," Peyton said and Logan frowned. She felt like a horrible friend. Peyton was really there for her when she found out about the switch at three months post-birth incident and that she relapsed and Logan felt horrible that she's been letting those issues get in the way of her being a good friend.

"Okay. What's going on? Talk to me. You have my full attention. You said you're not feeling like yourself, but what's wrong?" Logan asked.

"Just everything! You know, like Karen is really counting on me at the club and I don't even have a band! You know, and I'm suspended, so that's going to look great on my transcripts," She said as she heavily sighed. "And... and I miss Jake, Jenny, and my mom," Peyton said. Logan frowned as she wrapped her arms around her friend. Peyton immediately laid her head on Logan's shoulder.

"You're going to find a band, Peyton. I have no doubt about that. As for your suspension, Turner is just... I don't know. I'm sure he knows that you're trying to do the right thing, but he is the principal and he has people he has to answer to if he doesn't follow school policy. As for Jake and Jenny, I know you miss them, but the important thing is they're safe and away from Nikki, and that was only possible because of you. You saved Jake from potentially losing his daughter. As for your Mom, no matter what you've done or haven't done, she loved you, and she's watching over you. I know she's proud of the woman you're becoming and all your accomplishments because I'm proud of you too," Logan said. Peyton started crying more because of how much Logan's words meant to her.

"I should be stronger than this, you know. I should and I don't want to be that person that needs help, but I... I feel all alone," Peyton said and Logan frowned.

"You're not alone, Peyton! You have me and Brooke, you'll never be alone, okay? Crying doesn't make you weak. You're the strongest person I know, P. Sawyer. We're going to get through this together, okay? I know I've been dealing with all my crap and I'm so sorry I haven't been there for you like I should've," Logan said. Peyton immediately lifted her head and shook it.

"No, Logan, you found out something huge, and understandably relapsed. Nothing about that is crap. I just wanted you to know that I miss you," Peyton said and Logan smiled.

"I miss you too," Logan said right as Roman walked back into the room, with Logan's medicine in his hand. She was hoping Peyton wouldn't ask.

"Oh... hey, Peyton," Roman said. Peyton sat up from leaning against Logan and stood up.

"Oh, gosh... Um, I'm sorry...-" Logan cut her off.

"...-No, Peyton. It's okay," Logan said.

"Yeah, I can go home, it's no big deal if you and Lo need to talk," Roman said as he pointed to the door. Peyton shook her head.

"No, I'm sorry I interrupted," Peyton said as she headed for the door. Logan and Roman shook their heads.

"Peyton, you're not interrupting, we were just hanging out. You can stay," Logan said. Peyton shook her head again and noticed the bottle of medicine in Roman's hands.

"What's that?" Peyton asked.

"It's uh...-" Logan cut Aiden off.

"...-I have a heart condition. Not HCM, the test results came back negative, but they found something else. I have a condition called Arrhythmia, which means I have an irregular heartbeat. The medication Roman is holding helps keep everything regular. It's a very treatable condition, I'm okay," Logan said.

"Are you sure?" Peyton asked and Logan nodded.

"I promise," Logan said.

"I'll let you guys get back to hanging out. I'll call you later, Lo," Peyton said as she headed for the door. Logan frowned.

"Peyton, you really don't have to leave. If you want to have some time with Lo, I can go home or go hang out with Nate," Roman said as he shrugged. Peyton shook her head.

"No, it's okay. I'll see you guys later," Peyton said. She walked out before Logan could stop her. The blonde sighed as she ran her fingers through her hair and she looked at her boyfriend.

"Would you think I'm the worst girlfriend alive if I asked for some alone time right now?" Logan asked. Roman laughed as he walked over to her, placed her medicine in her hands, and then kissed her forehead.

"No, I wouldn't think you're the worst. I'll go see what Nate is up to," Roman said. Logan smiled as she nodded.

"Thanks, Ro. Will you come say goodbye when you leave for the night?" She asked.

"Of course, and I'll call you when I get home," He said. Logan nodded as she looked up at him. It was as if he could read her mind because he leaned down as she leaned up and they shared a kiss.

"Thanks for being so understanding, Ro," She said and Roman smiled.

"Always for you, Lo."

Roman and Nathan went to the river court, and Logan took her medication and went back to Lucas' house. Karen let her in and the pair went to the kitchen. Logan held her medication out to Karen, and her Mom took it, a bit confused.

"What's this?" Karen asked.

"The medication for my arrhythmia. It'll keep my heartbeat regular. I went to pick it up the same day I got the diagnosis. I'm sorry I didn't tell you sooner. I haven't told my mom or dad yet either, mainly because I don't see them," Logan said.

"They need to know, Logan. None of us want to lose you," Karen said as she handed her the medication back. Logan put it in the pocket of the jacket she was wearing and nodded.

"I know, and nobody will," Logan said.

"Why didn't Lucas take the test in Charlotte?" Karen asked.

"Um... he said he didn't want to know because he felt like it would limit the way he lives his life and the choices he makes. Nathan and I tried to convince him to take the test, not for himself or even for us, but for you. Out of all of us, you're the one who deserves to know the most," Logan said. Karen appreciated that Logan and Nathan tried to convince Lucas.

"I can't believe he can't see how selfish it is," Karen said and Logan frowned.

"Are you really going to take basketball from him?" Logan asked.

"If it'll make him realize how serious this is, yes, I will," Karen said. Logan nodded but she remained silent. Logan wanted to defend her brother, but she didn't want to push Karen or make her upset. Karen could see the conflict all over Logan's face from her answer. "You don't think I should?" She asked.

"I can't tell you how to be a parent, and you also know Lucas a hell of a lot better than I do. But what I do know about Luke is that you are the most important person in his life, and he loves you more than anything and anyone... But he also really loves basketball, I think he feels like it's the only thing that's his, and he doesn't want to lose that," Logan said. Karen nodded as she took a sip of her water.

"I know," Karen said and Logan nodded.

"I don't want to intrude, I just wanted you to see my medication and know that everything was going to be alright with me," Logan said as she headed for the door. Karen nodded as she softly smiled.

"Thank you, Logan."
