(Amber POV)

"Alex! They're going to be here any minute! Clean up your Cheetos dust and change into clothes instead of pajamas!"

"Amber we've had 5 roommates in the past 3 months and the all get scared away anyway, what is going to be different about this one?"

"Alex, you heard the people talking, she has a secret!"

"I don't eavesdrop, and stop your whining. She can't be weirder than you."

"I wonder what species she is, they wouldn't tell us this time."

"Amber, if I get changed will you stop wondering about this new person so much? She'll probably be gone in a few weeks anyway."

"Deal." I said sticking out my hand. Alex shook it and walked into the bathroom with her clothes, I mean we're really close so she didn't shut the door, she just changed and touched up her makeup.

I started thinking, 'I wonder what this new girl will be like, I hope she's cool. Maybe she'll finally be the one. Stupid other roommates called me a freak. Listen I'm not the one who wanted to be born, that was all my parents, so sorry th-'

"Hey, stop it." Alex said as she clapped in front of my face, "I hear you mumbling over here, you're a great species others are just jealous because when you get you powers you'll be so strong that you'll be able to kill us all."

"Maybe, but I never would. Maybe one or two but they'd never be found dead, just missing."

"Amber, don't worry. You'll get your powers any day now."

"You got yours! It's not fair, you're younger than me!"

"Ok one, I'm a mixed breed not one of you rare hybrids. And two, I got slightly increased speed and some strength to the price of everlasting thrist and not being allowed in the sun for long periods of time."

"I'm just frustrated, I wanna be a cool kid!"

"Ha, you do you."

A knock sounded at the door.

"Okay, okay, okay! It's time! She's here, she's here!"

I started jumping up and down excitedly.

"Calm yourself, Amber," Alex said opening the door.

Lucifer walked in and closed the door quickly, not even touching it.

"Listen Lucifer, you know that magic and stuff is strictly prohibited."

"Who really cares." He said with his little evil grin. Such an odd grin it is, Luci is a nice guy just looks really evil on the outside.

"Where's our roommate, Luci?" I asked.

"They're in my room currently."

"They?"

"Oh right she has a little brother, he's adorable, love him. But don't tell him that as far as he knows I hate everyone. Anyway he's my roommate. He's 13 and she's 17, just around all our ages."

"17? The principal said she was 16." Alex asked.

"Well she was when he told you that, it's her birthday today so she's 17 now." Lucifer answered

"Ooo, now she's the same age as you Luci. Maybe you two will click." I hinted.

"No thank you Amber, I'm not looking for love right now. I'm busy babysitting you two."

I was about to retaliate when there was a quiet knock and the door slowly opened.
