After twenty anxious minutes, there has been no change in the situation. The boys and I are still nervous wrecks inside the car, whereas Vernon is still inside of the house with Joe and Kim Eui.

I really want to help him, even though I know there's not much any of us can do.

What could be happening in there? Kim Eui is insane -- everyone knows what she is capable of.

"I think we should help him." I announce quietly, breaking the tension ever so slightly.

"Areum, no. We need to wait until something happens. If we go in now, everything might go wrong." Joshua tells me.

Sighing, I sit back in my seat frustratedly. I should have kept a better eye on Joe, he should never have been taken in the first place.

I should have locked the window. I should have brought him downstairs with me whilst we were watching the movie. I should have been there. But I wasn't.

The only positive outcome of this is that Kim Eui will be sent to prison again. I hope so, anyway, that's what she deserves.

"The police should be here soon, anyway." Wonwoo reminds us all.

"He'll be okay, Areum. Both of them will be fine." Seungcheol says assuringly.

My head snaps towards the window when I hear the sound of voices outside. I see Vernon with Joe in his arms and Eui beside him. She's talking to him normally, hopefully unsuspicious, and I can't help but wonder where they're going.

"Where is she taking them?" I ask frantically after they've disappeared down the pathway.

"I have no idea." Joshua mumbles as a 'beep' rings through the thick air.

Pulling out my phone, I see that I have a message sent from Vernon. It reads: 'she's taking us to the woods, follow us'. Frowning, I read it aloud and the boys are equally as confused.

"Why would they be going there?" Mingyu asks.

It silent for a few moments before Seungcheol's eyes widen. "The woods -- I've been there before. There's cliffs there, she might be doing something dangerous."

"We need to follow them." I say, frightened, as Seungcheol starts the engine.

We take a different, slightly longer route so it's not obvious that we're following them. It isn't a far journey so it only takes around ten minutes before we arrive.

The scenery here looks like it belongs in a horror film; the sky is black, the air is cold and the cliffs look extremely frightening as they neighbour the gigantic trees. Stepping outside of the car, I follow the boys quietly as we make our ways through the woods.

I've been here plenty of times, especially when I was a child. It isn't a huge area so it doesn't take us very long to reach the opposite end.

Halting in our tracks, the familiar figures become visible as they stand near the cliffs. Vernon, Joe and Eui don't notice us, even as we move closer, as the wind silences the sound of our footsteps.

To say I'm petrified is an absolute understatement. God knows why she brought them here, was she planning to hurt them? Nothing would surprise me after what she's already done to me and my family.

"Wait here." Joshua says quietly.

But for some reason, I can't stop. I keep walking until a branch saps underneath my foot and Eui and Vernon both look towards me.

"What are you doing here?" She asks.

"Eui, this needs to stop." I tell her shakily as I stare at Joe, who is luckily still being held in Vernon's arms which I trust.

"What needs to stop?"

"This, everything. You need to stop making my life hell." Her expression doesn't change as she stares at me.

"The police are already on their way." Wonwoo suddenly says from behind me.

"I can't go to prison again." She says to nobody in particular and steps backwards.

Vernon hesitantly steps towards us as Eui continues to slowly move backwards. He hands me Joe just as I realise what she's doing.

"Don't do it." I warn her as she nears the edge.

"I can't go to prison again." She repeats and I hold Joe closer to me, simultaneously containing my relief of seeing him again and my sudden worry.

I don't have the opportunity to plead anymore before she suddenly falls and disappears from my sight. I step backwards in shock as my hands begin to shake and silence fills the air around us.

Even after all of the terrible things she's done to my family, I can't help but feel saddened that she's gone in such a way.
