Upon leaving class for lunch Uraraka abandoned her team and sat upon a bench outside, alone, with only her own mind to accompany her.
To see herself in such a violent light had shook her to the very core.
No doubt about that.
She spoke aloud of her feelings, though keeping it to mere whispers in fright that someone may hear.
On her behalf it was a relief that she had done so, for Todoroki was listening quietly from around the corner, having his fingertips touching in a temporary pondering motion.
"Perhaps she would like to be left alone?...no,no, we've been over this...you just have to ask if she's okay...A-Again and...what if she just shrugs it off again?" He thought before shaking his head "stop being so foolish! Just get on with it"
He forced himself out from the corner and stared amongst her.
As a result she glanced up to him immediately, expecting him to speak, however, he didn't.
Not for a few seconds at least.
"...Hi" he started
At first she tilted her head but then smiled brightly.
"Heya Todoroki, what are you doing here?" She asked.
"...I was wondering how you was" he replied "you looked rather down in class"
Taking a seat beside her she rambled to herself before responding, fiddling with the tip of her skirt.
"I-I'm fine Todoroki-" she said before suddenly being interrupted by him.
"You're not"
She gave him a second glance and slightly narrowed her eyes.
"Pardon?"
"You're not fine, you clearly aren't...just, you can tell me what's wrong... because we're friends...A-And that's what friends do" he explained himself.
Sadly she looked away and sighed.
"I can't Todoroki...Mr Aizawa told me not to say anything...and even if I wanted to tell you it isn't like you could do anything" she chuckled
"You can't bottle things up Uraraka...I can't believe Mr Aizawa instructed you to keep Something so clearly harming to yourself...it can tend to get to your head" he growled softly, not intending to portray any aggressive tones towards the girl as to not further pressure her.
"Heh...you know an awful lot of this type of stuff...do you bottle things up By any chance?" She responded, clearly attempting to change the subject of the matter.
"Stop changing the subject and cooperate" he replied calmly in retaliation.
"But I'm g-generally interested..." Uraraka spoke.
Todoroki's eyes set upon her and gave he held a slight smile upon himself.
"Well...fine, I used to" he said
"Used?"
"Yes...but I began talking with Midoriya about it, he's a good listener" he added, beginning to stare down to his hands.
"...oh?" She hesitantly replied.
"He listens to me...alot actually"
Just at speaking about him made his heart pulsate drastically from a slight murmur to a gossiping giggle.
Never before had someone come so close to unraveling his complex mind, getting closer day by day, the more they talked, the more they understood of one another.
He had much more to say, that can be assured, though they exchange each others trauma like casino chips just to make conversation.
"...it's sorta funny" he would say "you was forced to be a hero even when you partially didn't want to...while i had always wanted to be a hero... but couldn't"
"How is that funny?" Todoroki would then reply, chuckling slightly.
"Well" he rolled amongst his chest, looking into his multicoloured eyes "...it's just ironic"
The leafy green hair would shade over his eyelids and give his eyes a somewhat glow to them.
An immaculate specimen ripe for biting.
But forbidden, like a lost fruit so juicy yet so bitterly sweet.
Dropped from a tree of generous determination.
"Oh please, don't start irony with me...if anything is ironic it's you and me, how close we have become" Todoroki smiled for what felt like the first time in years.
"We are close, huh?...we should celebrate" Midoriya chuckled
"And how would you suggest Celebrating?" He grinned to himself, wrapping his arms around him, lynching him in.
"Hmmmm, I dunno yet" Midoriya stated "maybe tacos, I heard Kirishima's a great cook"
"What is it with you and you're obsession with Tacos?!" He laughed, stroking his fingertips through his hair.
"I just love them okay!" the green haired boy pouted, squirming
"As much as you love me?" He then asked, making him flinch.
"Well... yeah, I guess" he chuckled "though I wouldn't eat you up"
"Oh yeah? Well maybe you're my Taco hm?~" Todoroki bit against his neck suddenly and caused him to yelp loudly. "TODOROKI!"
He stared ahead with a smile, not having noticed how he had rather suddenly spaced out from Uraraka.
She called his name numerous times and only on the third attempt did her voice get through.
On instinct he jolted and glanced to her, nervously smiling.
"...uhm, what was you saying?" He asked
"...you was just telling me how Midoriya listens to you" she said
"Oh...oh! Yeah well...he does and...I'd like you to be open with me about how you feel" he stated "sooo... could you tell me what's wrong?"
She watched him closely before sighing.
"Fine...but you can't tell anyone not even Midoriya, okay?!"
He nodded, holding his knees.
"Well....H-Hm, well, Shinso was actually..." She groaned shamefully "k-kidnapped earlier this week...o-or last week, I don't know!"
"Wait, what?!" Todoroki thought
He stared amongst her and allowed her to continue.
"I-It was here, on school grounds and...and-oh it looked horrible! T-They just-just, took him like.. like he was some ragdoll!" She teared up and Todoroki instantaneously embraced her softly.
"A-And" she gulped, hugging back and gripping the back of his jacket "I was there...h-helping-but I wasn't! I wasn't I...I couldn't have been"
"Uraraka calm down...what do you mean?"
She shivered and wiped against her eyes.
"M-Mr Aizawa said it might have been a quirk m-m-m... mimicking me, I...the police were all suspecting me-me!...like I was some criminal" she began crying unintentionally.
"Hey hey..." He wiped the tears away "it wasn't you...and you know that...right?
She nodded.
"Well that's enough proof for me..." He smiled "I trust you...and I know you wouldn't do something like that
...So where's Shinso?"
