A challenge
As expected Mineta arrived just after Bakugou, who, was already in his hero uniform and stood by Aizawa cunningly.
Tenya arrived shorty after, the purple balls sticking to his smoking engines.
Asui straggled behind with her tongue wrapped around a numerous group of people, all squirming, all ball infested.
"I see you used your quirk Mineta" Aizawa said abruptly.
"Yes sir!" He replied with a devilishly look in his eyes "I restrained them all, even the boys this time!"
Just outside Kirishima, kaminari and Sero were the last arrivals, knowing it too.
Kaminari ripped a ball from his hair and wailed, whimpering like a sickened puppy deprived of generous pets.
"Hm...you guys go first, I'll take the punishment" Sero sighed, trying to stay positive.
"Nah mate" Sero jolted "I'll go last, I need to catch up anyway" Kirishima smiled, patting his friends back.
As much as Sero wanted to decline he was internally grateful.
"Are you sure?.. you're still healing" he pitied.
Kirishima laughed vigorously and pushed em forward.
"I'm fine, c'mon lads"
They treaded in to see everyone cleansing themselves and getting changed for the physical workout ready to take place.
Aizawa watched the three and scowled, obviously observing Kirishima as being the last student to arrive.
He tried to avoid eye contact, catching sight of Bakugou towering over the victorious 2nd place arrival.
"Too bad Bakugou, maybe if you'd stuck round you could have offered someone YOUR balls instead" Mineta grinned
Bakugou rolled his eyes in disgust and adjusted his arm guard, glancing to Kirishima suddenly.
Kirishima immediately looked away, sweating slightly with his fists clenching.
Why was he being so-so rebellious?!
He needed to talk to Bakugou, he had to finish what he started...this silence and ignorance can't go on forever!
"After training we talk about this...a-alone, hopefully" Kirishima thought, quietly changing into his hero clothes.
Once everyone was equipped for the day they stood in orderly lines, only Bakugou stood away by the teachers side.
"Today will be a fairly easy drill" he pointed to a indoor playing yard, structured with walls and other obstacles stretching for about 50 yards. "This is where you will battle your opponent; too win, you get past the taped line which they guard"
Tenya raised his hand.
Aizawa glanced at him in approval.
"What if we lose sir?"
The teacher grinned "100 push ups" with that devious look in his eyes.
"and Mineta will be going first"
"Heh, easy, who am I going against?" Mineta cooed
"You're looking at him" Bakugou growled, cracking his knuckles.
Mina laughed as horror set in on the small ones face, the crippling realisation.
"Indeed, Katsuki has volunteered to be your opponent, everyone's in fact" Aizawa confirmed
The hothead grinned and glared down at Mineta, having just as a sinister stare as Aizawa had.
"See you out there shrimp" Bakugou scowled before setting off, preparing himself while the rest of the group began panicking amongst themselves.
"B-BUT DOESN'T KIRISHIMA BE GOING FIRST? HE ARRIVED LAST!" Mineta whimpered, scratching for mercy that the teachers robe.
Aizawa glanced up at Kirishima and chuckled "who said the last arrivals will be having punishment? Plus, I thought seen as you was so eager to get here you deserved to go first"
"HA! KARMA!" kaminari laughed from the other end of the line.
It didn't take long and Mineta took his stand, trembling, knowing full well he didn't stand a change against a quirk like Bakugou's.
Hardly any of the group could beat such a rage driven being.
If anyone was to have a chance it would be Midoriya, Uranaka, Tenya, Todoroki, Jirou and Momo.
"Cocky lil bitch" Bakugou growled, eyeing up Mineta as he flexed his gloved fingers.
They cracked inhumanely.
"A-A-A-Can't I just do the push ups?!" Mineta asked, only to have his rear end set alight.
Aizawa blew his whistle for the match to end.
It was an immediate fail, he hadn't even had the chance to fight and he was already forced to sit into a bucket of cool water and ice.
Next up was Tenya, and while he battled Mina came and joined Kirishima, kaminari and Sero at the back of the line.
"I bet you had a tip saying Aizawa would do this" Mina stated "how come you didn't tell me?"
"Tip? We got no tip" Sero replied
"If you ask me Mineta got all that he deserved" kaminari pouted, still infuriated at the boy.
"Yeah...but I'm after Uranaka" Mina sighed.
"Hey, you should consider yourself lucky. With how she was in the events Bakugou will be worn out, you stand a chance at least" Kirishima encouraged as Mina's face lit up with a smile.
"You're right! I do stand a chance! You have an even greater one" she giggled
"Heh, I'm not so sure about that Mina" Kirishima Chuckled nervously "he seems pretty mad with me...I don't think he'll let me win just like that, tired or not"
The first aspect Bakugou went for was Tenya's engines, strategizing his attack with very little effort.
Tenya's plan was simply to run past Bakugou with his engines at full acceleration, but to have that deprived of him the blast knocked his footing and drove him straight into an artificial wall.
He misjudged his target and underestimated his ability.
"Next, I'm getting bored" Bakugou snarled before Tenya stumbled and joined Mineta at the other end of the gym, recovering on the benches.
One after the other they got eliminated, surprisingly only 3 successors.
Tooru.
Todoroki.
And Momo.
Uranaka came close but not close enough to be victorious.
And although tired, Mina only managed to damage a piece of his equipment, nothing more before being thrown up into the air by an explosions propelling blast.
As she clung onto the high LED lights Aizawa blew his whistle and submitted her to the sidelines with the other injured soulmates.
As Midoriya took the stand his body glowed obsessively.
"C'mon Midoriya! I'm rooting for you!" Uranaka cheered
"Oh shut up!" Bakugou ordered, glaring.
With this workout sweat dripped from his hair, yet he smiled, so full of pride and ambition.
A fair fight was all he wanted, and a fair fight he would receive.
Strategically Midoriya took cover behind a wall, listening closely to his opponent and manifesting a plan of action.
However, he wasn't expecting a hand to rip through the wall and grip his throat, no one was.
They'd fought many times and this was identical to the others.
It certainly took a toll on both competitors but clashed impossibility.
Both was determined and to defeat them would be asking for trouble.
Once both was drained, still spitting insults from their lips Aizawa blew his whistle and ordered that Midoriya has a pass.
Not a win nor a fail.
If you ask any of the students they'd say Aizawa was just getting tired of watching the same relay over and over again and just wished upon getting the training over with and taking an hour's nap in the storage closet.
Either way, it satisfied them both momentarily.
Bakugou's nose bled vigorously from a served attack given from Midoriya, bruised muscles no doubt, yet he still tolerated it dripping into his mouth.
"Bakugou, Would you like a replacement?" He then asked
"Nah, I wouldn't like the others to feel left out" he only grinned in response, kaminari (who was next) yelping pleadingly.
It was a surprise of how his quick could withstand such usage for these long periods of time.
That pressure on his arms mustn't be comfortable.
Steam lifted from his arm guards and his legs looked to be skittishly trembling.
"A-Are you sure you wanna fight me?" Kaminari chuckled nervously, trying to appear confident.
"Hmm...no actually" Bakugou replied as Kaminari smiled.
"How about I take two hm? You're too easy alone" he added
"...first off rude, second off I dib Sero!"
Kaminari giggled "is that allowed Aizawa?"
The teacher sighed with annoyance.
"Just get this over with!" His hair stuck up.
Sero winced and ran up next to his companion.
"sorry Kirishima!" Was what they yelled before taking cover together.
Kirishima giggled, watching his friends.
Was he bothered they'd left him alone?
Slightly.
Did it hurt his feelings?
No.
There must be a beneficial reason why Kaminari chose Sero, a plan, some sort of scheme maybe.
"Hiding huh? So predictable"
"What are we going to do?!" Kaminari wailed, gripping to Sero.
... nevermind then.
"Look I have an idea!" Sero stood "just stay here and when I say 'go!' you electrocute my tapes"
Sero leaped away and released his tape from his elbows towards the obstructions and on many occasions Bakugou himself.
From line after line he appeared to be making some sort of barrier, where the clear substance clung to the walls.
"Quit it will you!" Bakugou demanded, gripping and taring some down, getting it stuck to his palms. "Ack?!"
"Go kaminari!" Sero ordered, standing clear from his own mass creation.
"Ah?!" Kaminari electrocuted the tape at his highest velocity, stumbling back afterwards in a dimwitted manner.
Aizawa lifted a brow at the boys intelligence as the electricity surged through the tape, coursing through Bakugous arms and stretching throughout his body.
It was a short yet powerful release and with it Bakugou dropped rather quickly to his knees, steaming at how the tape practically burnt to dust within his hands.
"It worked!" Sero laughed, Hugging kaminari and jumping with utter joy "c'mon kaminari!" He took him by the hand and began running.
"Uhhh...huh? Run? Mmmyeay" kaminari giggled, stumbling across his own feet on a failed attempt to compose himself.
Instead of using his initiative and activated his wrist device to electrocute the tape he had used his bare hands, practically knocking himself into an even bigger moron that he already was.
"Bakugou are you alright?!" Kirishima yelled to his friend, the silence proving itself to be concerning.
"I hope he isn't hurt too badly..." He thought
"Why don't you mine your own DAMN BUSINESS!"
Angered, drained, determined he got to his feet and readied his special attack.
The two stopped and staggered back, more Sero and Kaminari having to be pulled away.
"I'll Fucking kill you both!" He growled, his hand swelling with light.
Before he could ignite the attack he seemed to hesitate, giving time for Aizawa to speak up.
"Now Bakugou, we wouldn't like you to injure two other people would we?"
He snarled and dropped his arms, making the two still cautious boys flinch.
"Just get past me before I break you" was all he growled while resisting the urge to blow them to pieces.
He took their time to celebrate wisely, composing himself and adjusting his arm braces (arm guards) yet again.
There was no doubt in Kirishima's mind that he was getting weaker, his strategies less thought out, attacks being more irrational and that cocky attitude growing hoarse with each breath.
Not that Bakugou would admit to it, he used his pain to strive himself forward...which in all honesty was the best type of mindset.
But such anger is unhealthy.
Kirishima had met his family once or twice and gathered they were more or less fairly good people.
An angered mother no doubt passing an influence on the boy and a cool headed father set to level the odds.
"Maybe that's what Bakugou needs?" Kirishima thought
However, that doesn't explain how he acts so hostile to even the nicest of people, and how come he never inherited his father's life style choice instead.
Something must have made him like this.
Something drove him down this abrupt path.
He needs closure.
But from what?
Perhaps early conflict in the family.
Or maybe childhood experiences.
He does indeed despise Midoriya, but why? When? What happened?
"Kirishima?... KIRISHIMA!"
The red head flinched and returned from his thoughts to find Bakugou glaring at him.
"What?.." he questioned
"aren't you going to fight me already or what?..."
