"Thank you again Mel for taking us to see your girlfriend," Buddy remarked. He and Sweetpea were following their friend along the bustling sidewalk. A great big smile on his squished face, Mel yipped, "My pleasure! Thank you for being understanding about my relationship with Flower. She's a bit shy."

"I bet. You must make her feel special," Buddy replied. Wagging his tail, Mel barked, "Yeah! She thinks I'm special too! So special that she insists that we stay inside so no one can see us together!" Hearing that, Buddy and Sweetpea shared a worried look. "Um," Buddy mumbled, "Why?"

"Like I said, she's shy. She's also very prideful and self conscious about her public status," Mel answered, sighing as he thought about his girlfriend. Glancing over at Buddy, Sweetpea chirped softly. The dachshund nodded his head and murmured, "I know, I know."

"We're here!" Mel cheered gleefully. Buddy and Sweetpea looked up to find themselves at a fancy apartment building. On the lowest balcony was a Dalmatian with liver colored spots. A pink bow sat above her left ear. Dancing in excitement, Mel cried, "Flower!"

"Oh, hey Mel," Flower responded, looking down from her balcony. Her aqua blue eyes sparkled in the sunlight. Buddy and Sweetpea could see that their best friend was absolutely smitten with her. The pug was acting like a lovesick puppy. Her ears perked, Flower motioned towards the dachshund and parakeet as she asked, "Who are these guys Mel?"

"These are my best friends Buddy and Sweetpea. I told you about them before, remember?" Mel replied. Gazing down at the trio, Flower muttered, "Right, sorry I forgot. So they found out I assume."

"Yeah! Isn't that great?!"

"Mel, I'm breaking up with you."

"It's amazing- wait, what?!"

"I told you to not tell anyone and yet you did. Goodbye Mel," Flower huffed. Getting up to her small dainty paws, the Dalmatian returned to her apartment domain. Shock written all over his face, Mel turned to Buddy and Sweetpea. Finding his tongue, he mumbled, "I did not see that coming."

"Yeah, who knew," Buddy remarked while he and Sweetpea shared a knowing look.
