Hi! Sorry for not updating. School and stress happened.
I swear the chapters will be shorter than what they've been so far-
Possible Trigger Warning: Swearing
Virgil's Perspective
Life sure is great, isn't it?
I just got married to the love of my life, found out that one of my close friends was in love with my new husband, and that my best friend has been in love with me since we met.
Oh yeah, did I forget to mention that Roman fucking Prince has been in love with me as more than a friend since the day we met?!
Well, he actually never told me this. He just....kept quiet about it. Which, if you know Roman, it's a bit suspicious.
Which is probably why it took me by surprise when I found out.
Let me explain.......
While I was having a conversation with Logan, I had seen someone out of the corner of my eye leave the venue and out to the balcony. I ignored it, thinking that I was just seeing things.
Then I also saw Patton leave and go out to the balcony as well and, well, I got suspicious that it wasn't just my imagination playing a trick on me.
I knew I had to see what was happening. But I didn't want to leave in the middle of the conversation. C'mon, brain, think. Think of somethi-
"Virgil...I need to go...the devil and his wife are here." Logan said, urgency and seriousness in his tone. Without even getting a reply, he got up and walked over to his parents.
Logan usually called his parents "the devil and his wife" due to them being....well, extremely homophobic. And religious. I've met them once and....dear gosh that was a trainwreck of screaming.
I looked to see if anyone was looking, before sneaking over to the balcony. I hid behind the wall, and, not meaning to sound like a stalker or anything, but listened in on their conversation.
And I found out that Roman has been practically head over heels for me since day one. Oh, and that Patton has been in love with Logan but, I already had a feeling that he did.
As soon as I heard silence, I decided to show myself. I mean, it beats standing there and practically being a stalker. So I'll reveal myself.
"Hey guys. What are guys doing out here?" I casually asked the two, coming out of my hiding spot. Both of their eyes widened for a second before coming apart from their hug that they were in.
"Oh, uhm, greetings Virgil! I was just...getting some fresh air and Patton here decided to join me. Right, Patton?" Roman said, giving Patton a glance. Patton nodded, going along with the obvious lie.
Even if I didn't hear what the said, it was sometimes very....well, obvious whenever Roman lies. He's not exactly....good at lying.
"Don't worry. If you two were making out and don't want anyone to know, I can keep a secret." I jokingly said to them, before letting out a short laugh.
The other two laughed as well, but it wasn't really a...genuine one. Oh my gosh, I shouldn't have said that. Oh my gosh, I shouldn't have laughed. Oh my gosh, why did I even say it why did I-
"Anyways, I should probably check on Logan. The devil and his wife is here and...they hopefully did not crush whatever emotions Logan has left." I said, silencing all the worries I had in my mind, and quickly walking away to go find him.
Look, I did plan on talking to the two about it. But for some reason, I just.... couldn't for some reason.
I was gonna talk to them afterwards but...Patton seemed happy and I didn't want to ruin his mood. And Roman? Well, he left early for whatever reason. He just...opened the door and...tried to make sure no one was noticing him leave. Well, I noticed. But surely I'll bring it up to both of them....right?
It's been a month since the wedding.
I still haven't talked to the two about it, and honestly? I feel pretty.....guilty. Besides not talking about it to the other two, I still need to tell Logan. Maybe I should tell him after we go shopping....yeah! That works! I'm gonna tell him after we finish shopping for decorations.
We arrived home, wasting no time on waiting to decorate. I tried to speak to him during it all, but he was too focused. I've never seen anyone in my entire fucking life before focused on decorating something. An apartment, nonetheless.
After we both finished decorating, we took a look at what the probably soon to be a mess apartment was.
It wasn't exactly anything special. It wasn't crazy or flamboyant. It was simple. Simple colors, a simple style. Along with some stuff people would find either "boring" or "emo."
Most people would find some parts of this boring or weird. But for us? It was perfect. A "perfect mix of ourselves," to quote my dearest Logan.
Honestly, I was so exhausted after decorating an entire apartment with my husband, practically collapsed into my bed, soon seeing Logan sit next to me.
After a few minutes of both us practically just staring at the ceiling, I decided to tell him.
I opened my mouth to speak.....
But nothing came out. Hmm, maybe I should try again...
"Aliens, Lo." Alright, then. Let's just avoid the thing you actually want to talk about and talk about fucking al-
"Pardon?" Was all that he responded to me.
"What if we we're aliens. And we're what killed the dinosaurs."
"I...don't think that's possible, dear."
"Think about it. What if we were in the astroid. Holy shit what if there was no asteroid. What if it was a spaceship and we were on it? Oh shit, I think I'm having an existential crisis again."
Logan smiled and shook his head. This was one of the few times he actually smiled. It was almost like magic. I've rarely seen him smile. So it's a special sight when he smiles. It's.....nice when he actually shows at least some emotion.
We continued talking about the most random things, like what's in space, what would life be like if trees never existed, and whether or not big foot exists. ("He doesn't exist, Virgil. His existence has never been there. So he is merely a falsehood." Logan shoot back at me, before I rolled my eyes at him. "Okay, I get it, lo. But please be more chill.")
Somehow, the subject soon turned to inviting Patton and Roman over for a visit. I don't even know how the topic got to...that! They were just having one of their stupid debates and then boom! Logan just brought it up!
"Maybe-just maybe-we should tell Patton and Roman about our apartment and invite them over." Logan said to me, out of the blue.
Shoot. Why am I just now remembering about telling Logan what I overheard?!
I sat up and looked at Logan.
"W-what? Why?" Dammit. I stuttered.
"Well, Roman would eventually find out because he's...well because he's a nitwit and Patton would probably tell him. And Patton has probably figured it out already since, well you know why." Logan explained in his usual monotone voice.
Oh. Right.
We didn't exactly....tell them about our apartment. For all we know, they could just be assuming we're still in a motel.
Patton, being the "dad" he is, usually texted everyone in our little group in the morning to check on us to make sure we were alright.
Whether it be in the big group chat we have, a private chat, calling them, even in person sometimes.
So however he may have possibly found out, it wouldn't be weird or suspicious if he somehow figured it out and then soon telling us about it.
Meanwhile, I'm just sitting there, in silence. I keep pushing my sleeves on my hands, then back off my hands.
I'm considering on finally telling Logan. Well, I've already planned on doing it anyways, but something in me just....couldn't do it.
Logan seems...happy, or at least I think he does. He was hard to read with emotions, so everything isn't always...crystal clear when it came to emotions or what he was feeling.
And I don't want to possibly ruin it. So I should probably just....break the silence...
"Sure. Let's invite them over. I mean, since they were going to find out either way." I replied with a shrug.
I can tell that both Logan and I are.....well, nervous, to say the least. Well, I think it might be mainly me since....well, I have some social anxiety and just anxiety in general.
And Logan because....he just wants-no, thinks that everything just needs to be perfect. As much as I love him, he's a little bit of a....perfectionist, in some ways.
We're both cleaning-well more like organizing-and preparing some of the food, although Patton and Roman agreed to bring food over, we just want to prepare just incase one-or both of them-forget to bring food.
We're almost finished. The food's almost done cooking and everything is neat and-oh! Someone's here.
"Hello? Is this Logan and Virgil's apartment?" A voice said from behind the door. Wait a minute, that's Patton's.
"Come on in! The door is unlocked!" I shouted from the "kitchen", soon making my way over to the living room. And although the door was unlocked, I decided to open it anyways.
"Hey, kiddo!" Patton said with a smile, soon wrapping me in a hug. I....am not a hugger. So I just patted him on the back, soon pulling away. I looked down, and saw him holding a plate of his famous cookies. Yes! They. Are. The. Shit.
I quickly closed the door, leading a curious Patton into our "living room." Patton quickly set down the plate of cookies on the coffee table and sat down on the small couch, I soon followed, sitting down next to him.
Maybe I should ask him if he still has feelings for....no. Maybe I should tell him that I found out......
"Hey, Pat...I need to tell you some-"
"Greetings and salutations, Patton. I see you got here."
Logan said, walking into the room and sitting down next to me. Dammit, Logan. I love ya', but did you have to interrupt something important?
"Hey, Logan! I see your still...you. That's always good!" Patton said to him, cheerful as usual. Hmm, I took note of that. I'm...still not exactly sure if Patton still loved Logan.
Back when my dear Logan and I were still dating, Patton had always been a bit more...cheerful than usual around us. The odd part was he was like that even when Roman was there as well.
It had always seemed suspicious to me. Well, it became not as suspicious when I found out that.....yeah....
"Indeed I am, Patton. Anyways, it appears that Roman didn't come with you or that he wasn't at least following you. Which is unusual. Do you happen to know why?" Logan questioned him.
Whenever the four of us would go out to places, Roman would usually go with Patton or just drive behind him. None of us, even Patton, know why he did this. But none of us questioned it and we just went with it.
Unlike Patton, Roman had talking to all of us....less than he usually does. He's usually the most talkative and not to mention active on our group chat, updating us all on the little things.
But he was now barely on there, usually responding to messages reeeaaally late, and barely picks up the phone anymore. Suspicious.
"Oh, he died yesterday. Apparently he took too much sleeping pills on accident." Patton said, looking at us dead in the eyes. The room was silent for a few minutes.
I can't believe he....oh my gosh. I didn't even get to tell him and....he can't be dead. Patton must be lying I'm sure of it.
"Wait, really?" I said, breaking the silence. Patton shook his head 'no', and started speaking again.
"No. I mean, he might be. He hasn't been-"
"I AM HERE, AND I AM QUEER!!"
Roman practically yelled while kicking open the already unlocked door, very loudly interrupting Patton while he was speaking.
"Never mind! There he is!" Patton cheerfully finished, and smiled at him.
"Sorry that I couldn't get here sooner. I brought pasta, though!" Roman announced, holding up a container of pasta. Roman looked around at all of us, soon locking eyes with me.
The two of us stared for a moment. I'm....not exactly sure if Roman is still "madly in love" with me. Although, that would make sense since he hasn't looked away yet.
Wait, why didn't I look away yet. Oh my gosh, why haven't I looked away why oh my-
Roman soon looked away, putting on a smile before speaking again.
"Anyways, where do I put this?" Roman asked, turning to Logan and I. I stood up and made a signal for Roman to follow me, and led him into the kitchen area, leaving Logan and Patton alone in the living room area to talk about life and...other stuff.
We reached the kitchen, and I'm...tempted to ask about what really happened. And confront him about the feelings. But, now isn't the right time.
"Nice place so far. But it's lacking...bright and looks a little dull. Like if a school and a Hot Topic mixed together. Maybe it would be better if it was brighter and had more bright colors so it wouldn't look so dull and emo. So it's a seven out of ten, at best." Roman commented, setting down the container.
"I didn't ask for your commentary, Princey.." I mumbled, but still loud enough to be heard. I looked over at Roman, who had a certain look in his eyes that whenever he had it...nobody honestly knew what was going to come next.
"I didn't mean it. I was just...giving a little suggestion, that's all." Roman said with a shrug. I took a few steps closer, my hands starting to get...a bit shaky even though they were now clenched into a fist. Wait, when did they get clenched?
"Well I didn't ask for your advice. Nobody did, Roman!" I exclaimed, my voice soon starting to get louder than before.
"Virgil calm down, it was just a mere sugge-"
"Roman, can you please shut up for once!" I interrupted, almost to the point of yelling. I was...pissed to say the least.
Look, this may sound a bit petty or stupid but...I'm fine with myself being insulted, along with stuff that I either created or did.
But insulting something that both Logan and I did? That....just....no! That's too far.
"Good luck, Princey! There's not a prince that can save you now!" I said, taking a few steps even closer to Roman.
Roman opened his mouth to speak, but no words came out. Good choice, Princey. Actually deciding to be silent is good on you.
With my shaking more than ever, I brought up my hand and stuck out my pointer finger and started to poke him in the chest. Well, that was after I realized how close we physically were.
"This."
Poke.
"Was."
Poke.
"Too."
Poke.
"Fa-"
Kiss.
