"내가 왜 안 되겠 어?"

"Hey Minari, knock knock." Bambam grinned while I just facepalmed totally unimpressed with the way my cousin is acting.
While walking, Bambam just randomly cracked corny jokes here and there out of boredom, and true to his words there were only a few students present in the campus, and all of them gave him quick glances which caused Bambam to direct a smirk at my direction. I just roll my eyes at him before turning my gaze to Mina-unnie, poor unnie, she has to keep up with his stupid antics.
Nope, I'll change my mind when classes starts if that's what he thinks.
And speaking of the campus, the academy was bigger than what I saw from pictures, seeing it now up close, I think those photographs only justified half of its glory. The theme of the academy was like a clash of a modern and medival style. For now I only got to see the main hall, the offices of the teachers and staff for we came to enroll, and the quadrangle, not to mention this was only the first building. Bam and Mina-unnie will tour me around when classes start.
"Minari knock knock,"
I swear to God if he doesn't stop.
"Who's there?" I actually admire Mina-unnie for being able to keep up with this idiot.
"To."
"To who?" Mina-unnie asked with raised brows.
"No, it's supposed to be to whom." Bam then started to cackle loudly all by himself. Mina-unnie just chuckled lightly, highly amused while I'm trying my best not to kill him on the spot.
"If you think you sound smart, well then keep on searching on google or wherever you get those lame jokes." I bluntly said.
"Come on, that was a good anecdote." Bambam pouted.
"For the second time, if you think you sound smart you're not, you literally could've just said joke,"
"Fine, it was a good joke, are you happy now L?" Bambam crossed his arms against his chest.
"Yes, and no, it was not a good joke." I stuck out my tongue to mock him.
This was already a normal thing for the both of us, we wouldn't be Lisa and Bambam if we don't roast each other everytime we see an opportunity to do so. But we know our limits, that's for sure. I'm actually very worried for Mina-unnie, to correct myself earlier, I feel bad for her because she has to keep up with our antics.
As we made our way to the exit, we received a lot of curious glances from the few students that came to enroll, but if I look closer most of them were directed at me, they must be curious to see a new face at campus, must be. We had a small talk about something random before we realized that we finally reached Bambam's car. After we all settled in inside, we left the school premises and went back home.

After we dropped Mina-unnie off her house, we decided to stop by at a convenience store near the university to buy some snacks to eat while killing our time at our house a.k.a another day of netflix and chill.
"Yow, Bam," I looked at my cousin who replied with a faint hm while scanning the rows of sweets. "I'll wait for you outside." When he nodded, I took it as my cue to grab my own paper bag filled with food and headed outside. There were tables placed outside the store so I occupied one and proceeded to slump on my seat.
I sighed before letting my eyes wander at my surroundings, Seoul was a busy place, there were cars dashing on the road, laughs of delighted children can be heard from the nearby park, and then there's the people, minding their own businesses in their own worlds as they go on their way.
Eventually, my eyes looked up and landed on a humongous billboard standing tall among the skyscrapers. My eyes narrowed at the direction of the said billboard.
There is no way in hell, I'm going to marry a man I don't have feelings for.
It's not that I hate them or him, It's purely just the fact that I want to spend my special day with a man I actually love, my parents are great and all, they love me and I love them too, but they can be stubborn at times. There was a time where we fought about the merging of the companies, and it was one of our biggest fights ever, in the end I gave up and just tried to look at the bright side.
I would never know if I would be happy or miserable with him.
They never saw my face, nobody did, except my family. But, because of the merging, I was supposed to reveal my identity to the whole world, that was why we went to the restaurant to meet the most prominent family in Korea a few months ago.
But who would guess, that that day would change my life forever.

"L?"
Lalisa pried her eyes away from the painful reminder of her parents' loss and forced a smile towards Bambam's direction who looked at her with worry and confusion.
Lisa didn't notice that her eyes were brimming with tears, but Bambam did.
"Oh, I see that you're done," Lisa stood up. "Let's go?"
Bambam didn't even get to reply when Lalisa already pivoted on her heels and made her way towards her cousin's car. This confused Bambam even more, but when he looked up and turned to see what his cousin was staring at that would cause her to act like this, he understood.
The Jeons; The Family On Top.
It was a billboard, featuring a photo of the Jeon family, the aura that they radiated would most likely intimidate passersby even though it was only a picture.
There was Jeon Byeong-cheol, one of the most successful business man in Asia, known for being the strict and wise chairman of Jeon Corp. which was responsible in making the latest and finest technology to offer to Korea and to the whole world.
Standing beside him was his wife, Jeon Eun-jung. Unlike her husband, the woman was known to be more graceful and affectionate, but when it comes to serious situations she can be as scary, if the company's employees may say.
Jeon Eun-jung's hand was placed on her daughter's shoulder who was sitting in front of them. Jeon Soyeon, the girl is known for being the charismatic rapper of the famous idol group (G)I-dle. Even though she came from a prestigious family, she wanted to prove to the world that she can achieve her dream of being a performer without her parents' help, and she did.
On the other side of the couch, was their other daughter who was the only one smiling, or at least lightly. Jeon Somi, some wondered if she was really part of the same family because she was the contrast of the Jeons' cold image because of her cheerfulness and positivity.
Last but not the least, the only male child in the family. Jeon Jungkook, the cold and ruthless heir who would soon take over Jeon Corp. A lot of girls would fawn over him because he was indeed very handsome, but the boy had no time for love and would rather focus more on how to make the company more successful.
Bambam sighed. That night was very unfortunate for his cousin.
He went back to the car to find an unusually silent Lisa staring into nothingness. He knew that it would take her some time to fully move on from the incident, but he didn't expect that it would be this painful watching his cousin suffer.
"You okay L?" Bambam said as he put on his seatbelt. His statement earned a look from the girl as if saying; Why would I not be?
"Why would I not be?"
Bambam just shrugged, but internally he knew better. He was practically already her brother, he knew Lisa so well that if there were clones of the said girl, he'd still be able to point out who the real one is.
So he can confidently say that she was definately not okay, but he let it go and just kept silent during the ride back home.
As he was driving, he sighed when he turned to look at Lisa who was leaning her head on the car's window. Bambam thought of a way to cheer the gloomy girl up.
Until an idea popped in his head, he grinned when he saw the red light in the intersection before fishing out his phone from his pocket and sending a text to a certain someone he knew would surely wipe the frown off from Lisa's face.
He knew Lalisa already missed her unnie.
Meanwhile, the girl didn't even notice the commotion because she was too engrossed in her thoughts.
It was already 4:15 in the afternoon when they arrived back home. When Lisa went out of the car, she really didn't expect to find another woman standing on Bambam's front door, but she most definately didn't expect it to turn out to be her Jieun-unnie.
The woman on the door however, seemed to notice the arrival of Bambam's car.
"Yah! Kunpimook, why did you make me rush here at this hour? I was supposed to-"
The older girl didn't get to finish her sentence when she laid her eyes on Bambam's companion.
"Pranpriya?!"
When Lisa confirmed that it was indeed her Jieun-unnie, an ear-splitting grin made its way to her face before she rushed towards Jieun to engulf the older girl in a hug.
"Omo! I missed you Priya." Jieun muttered in between the hug.
Unable to control her emotions anymore, Lisa suddenly burst into waves of tears.
"Priya?" Jieun let go and wiped a stray tear rolling down Lisa's cheeks. "What seems to be the matter?"
"Nah, I just missed you unnie." Lisa cried which caused the older girl to chuckle before hugging her again.
"Wow, I just let you two meet and then you forget about me." Bambam rolled his eyes.
The two girls then laughed before finally heading inside with Bambam following in suit. "Is this why you called me Bam? If yes, then finally you've done something decent." Jieun teased.
"Why is everybody ganging up on me?" Bambam helplessly mumbled to himself.
"So how are you? I was worried sick when I heard about the accident." Jieun said which caused Lisa's smile to falter a bit, at least she stopped crying now.
"I'm doing great, unnie." Lisa reassured.
"I'm also very sorry for your loss." Jieun frowned, mr. and mrs. Manoban also treated her like she was part of the family, so when she heard what happened from Bambam she was greatly saddened.
"Thank you unnie, I know that they're watching us from above." Lisa gently smiled. "But wait, how do you know about Bambam being here?"
"Oh that," Jieun chuckled. "A month after the accident, you still weren't waking up, so I was sent back home, and in that same month your cousin here," Jieun pointed at Bambam. "Suddenly showed up at my front door one day, imagine how shocked I was."
Bambam just smiled sheepishly.
"I think by now you already know that Bambam was the one who took you here and bought all of your properties right?" Jieun asked as Lisa nodded.
"He probably trusted me enough to tell me about himself and about you being here," Jieun looked hesitant. "I also think that you already know that the whole world thinks you're missing, some others may even think you're already dead."
"Yeah, I'm aware."
"But this dumbass actually made a good decision of keeping your identity for the meantime, you do know that a lot of people were targeting you back then."
"Yeah, and I also can't believe it too, he even suggested that I should go by Lalisa so that we would avoid suspisions, that reminds me unnie, you should start calling me Lalisa or Lisa now, call me by my real name when it's only us three." Lisa informed.
Lisa then faced her cousin "Didn't know you could actually think straight Bam." Lisa snorted together with Jieun.
Bambam scoffed, but he was mentally smiling because at least Lisa's smile was back.
He knew it was a good idea to contact Jieun.
°•°•°•°
"See you soon unnie!" Lisa waved her hands towards Jieun.
"Will do, Lali." Jieun waved one last time at the two before going inside her car and driving off.
True to Lisa's words, they will soon see each other, especially when Jieun goes to the same academy as them. The revelation made Lisa even more happier because now she had another shoulder to lean on when she's troubled at school.
They just finished talking over dinner, so Lisa then took a shower, changed into much more comfortable clothes and plopped down onto her bed. Bambam had informed her that toworrow they would buy extra stuff they need for school because the day that Lisa dreads is nearing.
Don't get her wrong, she's excited that she was about to attend the most prestegious academy in Seoul, but maybe it's just first day jitters or it's the fact that she'll be the new girl.
She's read a lot of clichè books and fanfictions, she just hopes what happens to the new kids won't happen to her. This was also another reason why she was relieved to hear that her Jieun-unnie was attending the same school, at least she has Bambam, Mina and Jieun with her in school.
Shaking her thoughts off, she eventually drifted to sleep, knowing that a lot would happen in the next weeks.
A lot.
