The moon is particularly bright tonight.
The young man thought as he observed the bright glowing orb hanging high up above the night sky through the slits of the swaying curtains, courtesy to the faint whistling of the wind.
As soon as he entered his room, he immediately plopped himself down on his bed due to exhaustion despite his dirty clothes.
Jungkook sighed as he let his aching muscles be enveloped by the warmth and softness of his comforter, he didn't even mind cleaning the small stinging cut right above his collarbone as his thoughts were preoccupied by the events that transpired just a few hours ago.

"Why am I even doing this." Jungkook muttered to himself.
The young heir ruffled his brown locks in frustration before shooting a glance at the unconscious girl sitting in his car's front seat, but it didn't last long as he eventually resumed to zeroing his gaze on the road in front. He took a deep breath as an attempt to calm his heart down and mend the now faint headache that unexpectedly attacked him eatlier.
He didn't know why he was doing this when he was supposed to hate this girl and their whole family, especially after what they did many many years ago.
Jungkook was just taking a slow and quiet night drive when he passed by a lone alley and spotted dark shadows moving and doing God knows what, but curiosity got the best of him which caused him to immediately stop his vehicle and get out of the car, meanwhile noting that they were the only people around as it was secluded and the moon was already starting to rise up.
As soon as he got to take a closer look though, he was baffled by the scene that greeted him.
It was a group of men, ganging up on the helpless figure of a girl on the ground.
"What the actual hell?" He raised a surprised brow as he observed from a good distance, he was not far from his car, but he was at least close enough to hear what they were saying, it also helped that it was only them in a deserted place so their voices travelled and echoed around easily.
The young man noted that the girl impressively put up a good fight but she was outnumbered, and clearly had no chance of winning especially as she was alone—
Jungkook shook his head. Why was he even bothering staying and thinking about it when he had no business with these people whatsoever? He didn't know them and he didn't know what the situation was exactly.
The young heir sighed, he was about to finally walk away and return back to his home, but an enraged voice suddenly evaded his ears.
"Having power doesn't give you the right to trample on others, that just makes you filthier compared to those people who live on the streets."
He halted at her words. Jungkook slowly turned to face the group again just in time to find one of those men laughing in disbelief, as if the words that came out of the girl's lips were the funniest thing he heard today.
"You really had the guts to talk back, huh?" The guy yelled before sending a sharp slap across the girl's face.
Despite his sentiments earlier, Jungkook still unconsciously took one step forward upon hearing the painful impact of the contact. He expected the girl to cower, but he was left slightly surprised when she did the exact opposite. Her glare hardened, it was sharp and full of rage as if it carried countless painful and heavy memories behind it, such painful memories that gave her the ability to muster up a glare this scary to the point he was almost intimidated.
He would know, after all he has his fair share of painful memories that gave him the ability to project hard glares that caused many to cower.
But it didn't mean it didn't scare him even just a bit, and that was a lot considering how his attitude and personality practically embodied the word 'cold' most of the time.
"And people who obey those assholes, are just as worse."
Jungkook saw the man standing parallel with the girl suddenly raising a clenched fist. He really didn't know what prompted him, but the next thing he knew, he stepped in and threw a hard jab right across the man's face and was yelling out complete and utter nonsense right before the aforementioned guy had the chance to land another punch on the girl.
After his dramatic entrance and short outburst, the group's attention was suddenly diverted towards him, one thing led to another and he suddenly found himself in a full out brawl against them.
It ended pretty quickly though, as their skill level were miles apart and it seemed like the girl already took a toll on the group of men, he wasn't sure if she was really capable of that, but it was a possibility.
As soon as the last guy fled, Jungkook knelt down to check on the girl's state, but as if one surprise wasn't enough, he suddenly found himself holding a badly bruised Lalisa Manoban in his arms.
Now he was definitely determined to leave, wanting to not interact with the latter any further. He is aware of the fact that he saved her, but he clearly didn't know that it was particularly her that he was helping. Jungkook thinks that if he knew it was her, maybe he really would have left her alone.
As horrible as that sounds, he couldn't help but wish that he didn't help now that he was aware of who the girl was, a sudden flash of a specific sad and painful memory passing by his head as he thought so.
"I'm not. . .I'm not supposed to be helping you." Jungkook said in a neutral voice while looking at her, though he doubts that she can make out what he was saying as he observed that she was on the brink of unconsciousness by the way her eyelids were drooping dangerously low.
He contemplated on what he was going to do still with the girl in his embrace, but it was not long when a small glimmer of moonlight suddenly caught his eyes.
Jungkook squinted for a brief second before looking down to find that the light was reflected from Lalisa's necklace.
And the longer he stared, the more it looked like a very familiar necklace.
He wasn't given the time to think about it though, because in a matter of seconds after staring at the diamond-shaped necklce, a familiar painful and sharp pain pierced through his head, causing him to groan lowly and accidentally let go of Lalisa before stumbling on the ground next to her.
Jungkook's hands shot up to clutch his head, he felt like the world was spinning around him so clenched his eyes shut.
They stayed like that for a few more minutes, until the heir's dreary half lidded eyes noticed that the girl was fully unconscious now. Jungkook took a deep breath, and without being in the right state of mind, he stood up shakily before picking Lalisa up and carrying her towards his car.
The trip towards the hospital was quiet due to Lalisa being asleep and Jungkook was too busy minding his headache and at the same time, asking himself why he was even doing this.
But luckily for them, it wasn't that long before they finally arrived at their destination. Jungkook handed the girl over to the doctors first before briefly explaining the situation, not minding some of the knowing looks a few nurses were shooting him because he already knew well that him and his family were quite known in the country.
So with that in mind, he asked them not to speak about his identity before paying up and leaving, not even minding to wait for the doctors to tell him about updates on the girl because he's sure that they'll eventually contact her real family and he decided that there were already enough interactions between them today, though he's sure that she'll never remember him and he would prefer for things to stay that way.

As he layed still on his bed, Jungkook continued to stare at the bright glowing moon in silence, in contrast to him allowing his noisy thoughts to invade his head.
But after a few seconds, he ignored the ache that coursed through his body as he wordlessly stood up and proceeded to enter the room that was connected to his humongous bedroom, with only the image and thought of a certain girl and necklace in his hazy mind.
At times like these, he always did the same thing, and it would always help him clear his head.
Jungkook sat on the familiar leather seats and hovered his long fingers on top of black and white keys.
The silence in the room was soon then disrupted as the first few melodic notes of Clair De Lune danced in the air.

Okay before anything else, I just want to announce that I will continue to pursue taennie's ship in this book and in my other ones and it's not because I disregard Jennie and GD's dating rumors. If they're really together in real life, then I'm all for it because their happiness is my top priority. Just think of it as if Taehyung and Jennie are actors who are playing roles in my book, just because I write about them being together in my fictional world, it doesn't mean they are together in real life. I just want to put that out there.
Also, I'm very sorry for being barely active here, school's been hectic and all, and not to mention writing is really hard especially when you don't have inspiration for the time being. Let's just hope that when school ends (which is soon for me) I'll be able to update my books more, especially ENCA (I actually have most of the ending planned out already, but I can't seem to put it into words).
Don't mind the errors if there are any, I'm writing this with a barely conscious mind lol.
And lastly to the patient people who are still with me up until today, thank you for staying, I promise that I won't give up on any of my books and hopefully more updates will come soon enough.
Continue to stay safe everyone!
Luv y'all
