Chapter 12: After the Storm
The first light of dawn began to seep through the blinds, casting a gentle glow across the room. The office, once a space of rigid professionalism, now felt like a sanctuary, a place where two hearts had finally found each other. YN and Seokjin lay on the leather sofa, their bodies still intertwined, the warmth of their shared intimacy wrapping around them like a blanket.
Seokjin was the first to stir, his gaze moving over YN’s peaceful face as she rested against his chest. He marvelled at how perfectly she fit in his arms, as if she had always belonged there. The reality of what had happened began to sink in, and with it, a flood of emotions that he hadn’t anticipated. He was overwhelmed with affection, admiration, and a deeper feeling that he didn’t dare to name just yet.
As he shifted slightly, his hand gently tracing the outline of her jaw, YN’s eyes fluttered open. For a moment, she looked disoriented, as if she were still caught in the dreamlike haze of the night before. But then her gaze met Seokjin’s, and a soft smile curved her lips.
“Morning,” she whispered, her voice husky from sleep. The simple word carried a weight, a meaning that neither of them had to articulate.
“Morning, beautiful,” Seokjin replied, his voice filled with warmth as he brushed a strand of hair away from her face. “How are you feeling?”
YN took a deep breath, her mind catching up with the events of the previous night. The passion, the closeness, the way Seokjin had made her feel cherished and desired it all came rushing back in a wave of emotions. She was aware of every inch of her body, still tingling from his touch, but more than that, she was aware of the shift between them.
“I feel…” She hesitated, searching for the right words. “I feel like everything has changed, but in the best possible way.”
Seokjin’s heart swelled at her words, and he couldn’t help the grin that spread across his face. “It has,” he agreed, his hand cupping her cheek. “But it’s a change I’ve been hoping for… for a long time.”
YN’s eyes softened as she looked at him, her fingers trailing along his broad shoulders, down his chest. She could see the vulnerability in his eyes, the hope that mirrored her own. “Last night… it wasn’t just a moment, Seokjin. It meant something. You mean something to me.”
“And you mean everything to me, YN,” Seokjin replied, his voice low, filled with sincerity. “I don’t want this to be just one night. I want more… I want you.”
The honesty in his words made YN’s heart skip a beat. She had never expected to find someone like Seokjin, someone who understood her, who could make her laugh, who made her feel safe and loved. But here he was, offering her everything she hadn’t realised she needed.
“I want that too,” YN admitted, her voice barely above a whisper. “I want us.”
Seokjin’s smile grew wider, and he leaned down to press a gentle kiss to her lips, a kiss that was full of promise and hope. “Then it’s settled,” he murmured against her lips. “We’ll figure this out together, one step at a time.”
YN nodded, a sense of peace settling over her. She wasn’t sure what the future held, but she knew one thing for certain Seokjin was a part of it. The thought filled her with a warmth she hadn’t felt in a long time.
They stayed like that for a while, wrapped up in each other, savoring the quiet intimacy of the moment. Eventually, the reality of the day began to intrude, and YN reluctantly sat up, smoothing down her rumpled blouse. Seokjin watched her, his eyes lingering on her perfect curves, the way her blouse clung to her body, accentuating the beauty he had admired the night before.
“Do you have to go to work?” he asked, a playful pout on his lips. “Because I’m pretty sure I could convince you to stay here a little longer.”
YN laughed, a soft, melodic sound that made Seokjin’s heart skip a beat. “As tempting as that sounds, we do have a company to run,” she replied, her tone teasing. “But maybe… we can take a rain check on that?”
“Definitely,” Seokjin said, his eyes sparkling with mischief. “But don’t think I won’t remind you of that promise.”
YN leaned in, pressing a quick kiss to his lips before standing up, smoothing out her skirt. “I’m counting on it, Secretary Kim.”
Seokjin’s heart fluttered at the way she said his name, and he couldn’t help but watch her with a mixture of pride and longing as she gathered her things. Even now, after everything that had happened, he couldn’t believe that she was his. The woman he had admired from afar, the one he had secretly fallen for, was now looking at him with the same affection in her eyes.
As YN prepared to leave, she turned back to him, a playful glint in her eyes. “You know, you could join me in the shower… if you’re quick about it.”
Seokjin’s jaw dropped, and he nearly stumbled over his words. “Are you serious?”
YN winked at him, her laughter filling the room. “Come find out, World Wide Handsome.”
And with that, she disappeared into the bathroom, leaving Seokjin staring after her, a wide grin spreading across his face. The day had barely begun, but he already knew it was going to be one of the best days of his life.
With a burst of energy, Seokjin quickly followed her, the door closing behind him with a soft click. The office, once again, was silent except for the sound of water running and the occasional burst of laughter that echoed from the other side of the door.
