I haven't written in a while, but I tried to write a short story to go along with the drawing.

Happy holidays!

It was a cold morning at the Flying Friend's Cafe. Pearl was behind the counter, talking to Gem as she rang up her usual order. Grian went up to Scar's table, flirting with him while giving him a slice of the day's special, a Chocolate Cherry Cheesecake, to try as he drank his mocha. Meanwhile, Jimmy pulled the short stick and had cleaning duties that day.

"Do you think he's finally going to ask him out or just keep flirting?" Gem asked as she paid for her vanilla latte.

"Probably not," Pearl said, glancing over at her hopeless brother, "but he's planning on volunteering at the animal shelter later, so maybe it'll happen then."

"You guys talking about Grian?" Jimmy asked, wiping down the display.

"Not so loud!" Pearl shushed, "but yeah."

"Do you think he will ask Scar out?" The redhead asked.

"Maybe, he's been dropping hints for a while, though Scar is pretty oblivious." He signed.

"How are Maui and Pearl doing? The cats?" Scar asked. Grian had adopted the bonded pair from the shelter a few weeks before and was still working on settling them in.

"Good. They've stopped hiding under the bed. They both really like looking out the window. I've seen videos of people walking their cats with harnesses, do you think they'd like it?" The blond responded, pulling out the chair across from Scar.

"I think they'd love it!" The brunette gasped, "I could put Jelly in her stroller and we could all go on a walk together!"

Grian looked at his phone. "My shift ends in two hours, maybe we could go on the walk between then and going to the shelter?"

"That works for me," Scar smiled.

"Then it's a date."
