Star pov
As we walked towards the diner I noticed how much Marcos face would redden. I thought it was because of this morning cause it was quite odd he kept calling my name. It would be a lie if I didn't find that kinda attractive but its wrong of me to think such a thing. "Star, what do you want to drink?"

I didn't realize we were already seated "Oh I'm sorry, I'll have a glass of orange juice please" the waitress nods and smiles and leaves as we look at our menus "You okay Star? Your spacing out a bit?" I shake my head "I'm fine, just thinking that's all, what are you doing today?"

He shrugs "Um, hanging with my parents for a bit, what about you?" I have no clue because the point of this was for me to find someone, but hanging with oskar wasn't ideal,  he just talked about what he wants to do in life and its way beyond what I have to do "Star?"

I look at Marco who looks worried "Sorry, what did you say?" I blushed as he smirked "Are you sure your okay?" I nod a bit "Yeah, just thinking" he nods "Alright, so what are you doing today?" I shrug "Probably nothing"  he raised a brow as he looked at me, did I say the wrong thing? "I thought you were going to help your cousin with the wedding?"

I widen my eyes and nodded quickly "Oh! That well I don't have to help her, she told me I'll be a mess up if I try" he sighs "Thats not very nice of her to say" I shake my head "It doesn't matter, I only got 6 months left to be with her" he sighs as our drinks came with our food "Here you kids go, enjoy now"

we thanked her and we dug in "Well if your not doing anything, you want to come with me to see my parents? You can say no if you like" I giggled "Sure, it's better then being home" he chuckles "Alright, warning you my parents aren't normal and very passionate with each other, like really.."

I gave him a little uneasy look "Like they like being in love with each other?" He nods "Basically, just careful cause they'll ask tons of questions..since I haven't seen them in over a year?" I gasp "Why so long?! Shouldnt you know how they live or something?"

He chuckles as he takes a bite "Because I don't want to bother them or they get annoying sometimes" I giggle and bit "I can never get away from my parents, I'm always in their sights" he tilts his head "But your 22 right? Shouldn't you be able to have freedom?" I nod and smirk "Yeah, but when I was younger I was a little reckless and wasn't a real proper young lady like my parents wanted me to be"

he chuckles a bit while he looked at me "At least your free from them now?" I scoff a bit "That's true, but I miss them" he noticed my expression so changed the topic "When is your birthday?" He asked a little shaky "February 14, its on Mewni Day back home" he chuckles "Well its Valentines day here, I think your here then right?"

I thought about it and nodded slowly,  I might be gone by then "Um, yeah totally" I gave him a smile "Cool, I can probably take you out somewhere for your special day unless you will be dating someone by then?" I giggled "How would you know if I'm taken or not? I could just like going on random nice dates until the right one shows up" he laughs and gets up "Come,  time to go"

he holds my hand and I blush a bit, his touch so soft and warm as he paid I felt eyes on me as I turn I saw him again and I shook Marcos arm quickly "Marco, can we go now?" He looked at me odd "Hold on,  shes giving me my change back" I looked at the guy again and he was gone, I sigh and relaxed a little "What's wrong?"

Marco asked a little worried "I'm fine, just thought a stranger was going to say something to me" he pulled me closer under his arm, which surprised me a little "Well he needs to get through me.." I had a blush as I smiled while we walked towards his parents house. The eyes that haunt me were gone and I was safe

"What a cute neighborhood, so peaceful and lovely" I said as he chuckles and loosen his grip on me "Yeah, I grew up here and it was good" as we stopped at a cute house we walked towards the door "Ready?" I nodded as I heard laughter and the locks being moved "I got it Angie..Marco!"

His dad was taller than him and big as in muscles as well "Hey dad" Marco managed to say "I haven't seen you since you and jackie were here" Marco lowered his head and he noticed and moved back letting us in "Sorry, oh who's this?" I smile at him "I'm Star Butterfly, just a friend of his nice meeting you" he chuckles and hugs me too which was lovely

"Any friends of Marco is welcome, come now your mother is making some cookies" Marco groans as I follow behind. I wrapped my arms around his waist to calm him "Hey, it's okay just have fun okay? They just miss you and I won't ask about Jackie okay?" He nods and moves my hands off him and walked in before me "Marco! How are you honey and oh a lady friend?"

His mother was adorable and very pretty "Mom, this is Star Butterfly, shes not from here.. shes from Mewni and only staying for a few months. She is just a friend" I giggled as he blushed a bit "Well,  welcome to California and such I'm his mother Angie Diaz, this is his father Raphael Diaz, its a shame your here for a little bit"

I nod and look at Marco who had his arms crossed and had his head lowered "Yeah,  but pretty much its been fun, and your home looks lovely" they smile and pull me away from Marco who chuckles a bit "Oh you haven't seen nothing yet, Marco I am going to show your friend around" he nods

"Sure and don't get ideas" she smirks and we walk upstairs seeing a hall with a couple doors and I noticed one with Marcos name "Oh, you see Marcos room he never wanted anyone in his room since he moved out, he used to come back to sleep or stay the night when he could but he found a job and didn't show up like he used to"

I sigh and followed her as we checked everywhere I still wanted to know what was in his room? Was it his childhood memories or something he doesn't want anyone to know. As Angie disappear I quickly went up the stairs I touched the door knob and felt a hand on my back making me flip the over me "Star.."

I gasp seeing it was Marco and I quickly kneel down looking at him "Are you okay? I'm sorry you can't sneak up on me like that! I took self defense when I was younger" he chuckles as he weeps in slight pain "I used to take karate, I was pretty cool.. beside that what were you trying to accomplish in entering my room?"

I blush seeing his mocha eyes stare into my own "I got a little courious and I wanted to know, seeing I hurt you I think I don't want to enter" he laughs as he gets up slowly while I helped "If you want to, I'll show you okay" I sigh feeling a little guilty "You don't have to Marco" he shakes his head

"No I'll show you because then you'll think about it all the time after we leave" I giggle knowing that it will possibly happen "Welcome to my room" as I entered he had a king sized bed a drawer that was tall as me, workout equipment and a few photos near his bed.

As I look its him and his parents when he was younger, then I see him with friends and then his high school graduation.. I was homeschool when I was little so I never really experience anything like that "Who's that?" I point to a photo of Marco who is with a woman with green eyes "Oh, that is my aunt shes is awesome"

I nod looking how happy he looks as I look a see a photo of girl with wavy platinum blonde hair and teal green eyes "She's pretty" I say while Marco looks at it "Yeah she is.." he sat on his bed and I gave him a look "What's wrong and is this jackie?" He nods

"She was my girlfriend for awhile but we had to end it cause she didn't see where our future would end, I thought we would be married, get a nice house have kids all of that but she didn't want to settle down so quickly. She wanted to explore more and have adventures but that wasn't me, or at the time. I wish I can reverse the clock and stop her from leaving me for good"

I sigh and noticed tears in his eyes. I wiped them away "Well its her loss, if you guys were together I wouldn't have met you? The fun and charming side of you, and your awesome just the way you are Marco.. dont wallow in the past, it just means shes not right for you and someone else is"

I held his flushed face as he smiled at me "Thanks Star" I smiled making my heart flutter a bit "What are friends for?" He pulled me into a hug and I held back, he was warm and soft and smelled liked cherries "Your right, there will be someone right for me" I nodded "Of course there is" after a couple hours eating dinner with his parents we walked home, well Marco walked me home as we did I felt eyes again as I look a see someone standing at the steps of my apartment.

I freeze and Marco pulls me closer to him "What's wrong? Do you know him?" I stood there frozen with fear and a little guilty "Star?" Marcos voice becomes faint and I walked towards the man with Marco behind me "Why are you here? I thought I told you back on mewni that were done"

he smirks as he looks at me "I couldn't get away from my Princess could i?" I groan at him as he looks at Marco "Star, who's this?" I sigh "Marco,  this is my ex boyfriend Tom" he scoffs "Ex boyfriend? Please Star we were engaged" Marcos eyes widen "Engaged? You never told me that?"

Tom laughs "What other lies have she kept from you?" I was scared he'll tell my biggest secret and I couldn't risk that "Star, what's going on?" I looked up at Marco and at Tom who had an amused look "There's a lot more but I have to have a whole day to explain,  so Marco Friday when I see you again I'll explain everything,  I promise you"

he looks uneasy as he looks at Tom with a glare "Okay, be careful star" I closed my eyes feeling the guilt rush over me "I will,  bye Marco" he hugs me tight and I do as well and he leaves.

"Is he going to be the king of Mewni? He seems not right for it" I pushed him which made him move back "What the heck are you doing here! I told you were done, you hurt me and I didn't want to be with you anymore" he rolls his eyes "Well, I know I was a horrible guy to you,  but I've changed I have been seeing someone for my anger, and I really want us to start over"

I laughed in his face "Are you serious? No way Tom I'm way happier here alone without you" he pulls my hand which I rip off of "Starship, you know me and you should be the one to rule Mewni together, not some random guy who doesn't even know how to? I'm a prince that you should marry not some random guy who can hurt you in just seconds"

I shake my head "If your implying Marco is worthless then he's not, he's caring and trustworthy..he fits what a king should be about,  not some spoiled rich kid who gets what he wants because his dad gave it to him, I'm a person Tom not an object and you almost blew my secret in front of him! No one is to know I'm a princess at all because then everyone wants to be with me and that is not what I want. I want someone to fall for me not for my royal status, for me the person I am in the inside"

Tom stayed silent for a while "So you like Marco?" I shake my head "No, we're friends why would I like a guy I met a week ago? It takes time to like someone you know?" He chuckles "Well, by the way he looks at you he might actually like you more than a friend, I'll see you around I'm not giving up on you" I crossed my arms as he starts walking towards his car "Leave me alone Tom" 

he waves with a smirk on his face "Bye star, sleep well" he took off and I shake my head as I entered I saw amber talking on the phone "Oh here she is" she gives me the phone and I talk with mother,  she told me what I need in a guy or something completely off. I kept saying yes and I ended the call "Star are you okay?" Amber asked and I sigh "My secret was almost blown, what am I going to say to Marco?"
