I couldn't believe what he was telling me. Me, the descendant of royalty? It can't be possible. "That's ridiculous! You're lying!" I said in denial. "It is! I got the proof right here!" Vladimir argued holding up an envelope with a stack of papers in it. "Finally, after one hundred years, my family's legacy will be restored to its former glory! I'll forever be known as the man who ended the Romanov blood-line!" he ranted proudly. He walks over to the door and stands in the doorway lighting a cigar. That's when I noticed the strange smell that radiated through the room. Oh no, he wouldn't. I looked at his expression...pleasure, and his eyes...insanity. He would. "Dasvidania....Prince of Russia." Vladimir said with the most evil grin I have ever seen. Vladimir flicked the lit cigar at the right wall, and left quickly. As soon as the cigar touched the floor, large flames came to life and slowly started growing larger in the small room I was in.
Panic and fear were the only two emotions I could feel at the moment. Remembering that my lower-body strength is greater than my upper-body strength, I started kicking the cage door. The heat was becoming unbearable, and breathing started to be very difficult. "Come on, you d*mn door! I refuse to die this way! I have to have justice for my darling Porosenok!" I screamed. Soon, I was able to get the door to break open; I crawl out coughing and gasping. I have to escape before I'm burned alive. I make my way to the door of the room. It's locked; d*mnit! I started to thrust my shoulders into the door to try and break it down. Luckily, the door was very weak and it bursted open.
I drop to my hands and knees, gasping for air. "What the f---! Argh, what is it going to take to kill you!" Vladimir raged. I saw that his dog wasn't in the room, he must've been outside, so it was just me and him. I stood up and ran towards him, ready to fight my way out. I was able to get one good punch before I was knocked down with three punches to the face and a knee to the ribs. Vladimir was now on top of me with his hands wrapped tightly around my throat. I kicked and struggled to break free. "Die, you piece of sh*t, die!" yelled Vladimir. Desperately, I think of a solution to my situation; as hard as I possibly could, I drove my knee into Vladimir's crotch. He lets go of me as he groans in pain. I grab his shoulders and slam him on the ground; when his head hit the floor, it knocked him out cold. "That was for Yuri, you son of a b**ch!" I shouted. I grabbed Vladimir's phone and called the police. They arrived just before he woke up and arrested him. I had a bloody nose, a busted lip, a bruised chin and ribs, and had a gash on my arm from where the dog bit me. His dog was taken by animal control. I was taken to the ER to get stitches in my arm.
After my arm was stitched and bandaged, my friends came to see me; they were probably very worried about me when I got kidnapped. "Viktor! Oh my God, you're okay!" Yuuko said pulling me into a huge tight hug. I hug her back. I looked over at Yurio, and noticed his red, puffy eyes. He was so worried about me he was crying. "Yurio, are you okay? You look like you've been crying?" I asked.
"W-what! N-no that's crazy! I-I wasn't....
y-you're an idiot!" Yurio protested. Otabek was about to say something, but Yurio jabbed him with his elbow. I walk over to him and gently hug him. "It's okay, Yurio, I love you, too(platonically of course)." I said to him. He pushed out of the hug grumbling, he's not a very touchy feely person, except for when it comes to Otabek...or his grandfather. "I-I thought I told you to stay away from that psycho, you could've died!" Yurio scolded me. "You're right, I could've died, and I'm sorry for worrying all of you." I apologized. The pain medication given for my arm and ribs started to take affect, I was getting really tired. "Come on, Viktor, let's get you home; you need some rest." said Yuri's mother. "But...I...have to see my Yuri...first." I said sleepily. "You can see him tomorrow, for now you need to rest." replied Yuri's father. Yuri's parents took me home and I fell asleep the minute I got to my room.
The following day, I slept until almost noon. My bruises hurt a lot more today than they did yesterday. I took some nondrowsy pain medication and went out into the living room. "Why did you guys let me sleep so late?" I asked Mrs. Katsuki. "I didn't want to disturb you; you looked so tired." she replied. Suddenly, Minako and Yuuko barge in all frantic and overwhelmed. They had tears in their eyes, though I couldn't tell if they were the sad or the happy kind. "Guys!
Y-y need to come to the hospital...quick! It's....i-it's...Yuri!" the two stammered before rushing back out the door. My stomach and chest tightened and clenched out of fear. Had it happened? Is...my Yuri...gone? My mind refuses to think of anything but the worst.
