Chapter 10 New King
~Griffin~
Its been a few months since I left Atlas in that small village. The only thing that made it worst that is now, my father is sick. Dane said there no cure for his illness. I can't help but blame myself for not being here.
"Sire, you should get some sleep," Dane said before leaving. I sat down next to my father and waited for the fire to go out. I think that when I become king I could bring back Atlas.
"Do you think that Atlas will come back? I asked, Dane before he left.
"He will return," He said, leaving my father's chamber. I got up and glance back at my father on more time before I left. When I become king I could bring Atlas back. I really do care for this man and my father. My father send someone I cared for away and I want Atlas with me. I feel incomplete without him here. I can't do anything at this moment just sit and watch my father die and hope that my love will return.
~1 week passed~
I woke up and headed to my father's chamber and saw that he stopped breathing.
"FATHER!" I yelled, running up to him. I felt for a pulse but there was non. I started to cry when Dane came in.
"What is the matter, Prince Griffin?" He asked, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"He's dead, Dane. He's dead," I sniffled.
"oh my poor boy, he's in a better place now," Dane said, wrapping his arms around me.
~2 weeks after the king death~
I woke up and got ready for my coronation. I looked around and thought back to when I was younger. I smile at the memories and ready to be king. I headed down the hall and saw Dane.
"Good morning, Sire," He said, with a little bow.
"Morning," I said, smiling.
"I invited someone to come to your coronation," He said, looking at me.
"Who?" I said, excitedly.
"Atlas," He said with a bow and left. I smiled at the sound of his name been months since I heard his voice and see those beautiful blue and green eyes.
~Hour Passed~ Atlas~
I walked into the Miral's citadel. I looked around it been a year or so since I was here last. It feels good to be back. I headed to Dane's chambers and set my stuff down and headed to the throne room. I walked to a place where I normal would stand. I saw Dane walking through the doors and made his way to me.
"Atlas, its good to see you," Dane said, pulling me into a hug.
"Yeah, it's good to see you to, Dane," I said, hugging him back.
"How are you?" He asked.
"I'm doing well thank you. How are you and Griffin?" I asked. I was really worried about Griffin.
"He's doing well considering that his father passed away 2 weeks ago. I'm doing well also," He said, placing a hand on my shoulder. I smiled knowing that both of them are well. The music started and Griffin walked in. His blonde hair and blues are just as I remembered. I knew he was going to make a great king. Today is the day. The day of his first day of king.
After a few minutes, he made is vows. He turn toward his people. He found me in the crowded and smile. I smiled back.
"Long live the King," the noble said.
"Long live the king," The people chanted.
"Long live the future king," I muttered.
The coronation was over and I headed back to Dane's chambers. I walked in and saw Griffin was standing there.
"Can I help you, Sire?" I asked, looking at Griffin.
"Atlas you really did came," He said, running up to me and wrapping his arms around me.
"Griffin, can you let go of me?" I said annoyed.
"No," He demanded. Griffin hugged me tighter, "I really missed you, Atlas," He said softly.
"I missed you too, Griffin but you have to let go of me or you are going to miss the banquet," I said, trying to push him away.
"Then come with me," He said.
"I can't, Griffin. I'm still band," I said, pushing a little harder.
"Not anymore," He said, dragging me into the banquet hall. I rolled my eyes giving up on getting free. Griffin kept a strong grip on my hand to make sure I didn't run away. I walked with him just a little slower than I usually do but this was strange. My heart was racing and I kept staring at Griffin.
"Atlas, I'm glad you're back because there is something I want to tell you?" He said, stopping in front of the banquet's doors.
"Alright. What is it?" I said, looking into his blue eyes.
"I like you," He said.
"I like you too, my friend," I said smiling.
"No, not as friends or best friends. Atlas, I mean I love you!" He yelled. I looked at him confused.
"Wait a minute you loves me?" I asked, trying wrap my head around this.
"Yes, that what I just said," He said, sounding angry.
"Oh, I um... lo- love y-you too," I said shyly, putting my head down. I felt arms wrapped around me.
"I'm sorry for making you leave, Atlas and how long did you love me?" Griffin asked.
"Since the first day we met," I said, trying to calm down.
"Really, that long. I should've noticed sooner," He said.
"It's fine, Griffin. I'm just glad that you notice now. Now let's go eat," I said, pushing him into the banquet hall.
"Alright, Atlas, you win," Griffin said as he made his way to his chair. I smiled at him and took my place next to Dane. Griffin starred at me and pointed next to him. I walked over to him, "You stand here," He demanded. I nodded and stood where he was pointed.
~2 hours passed~
I stood there for a good two hours. I looked at Griffin and told everyone that the banquet was over. Everyone left the hall and Griffin dragged me off to his chamber.
After a good three minutes, we arrived at his chamber. He pushed me onto his bed.
"Griffin, what are you doing?" I asked, getting scared.
"Going to be, Atlas," He said, wrapping his arms around my waist, "Shoes off, Atlas," He demanded. So, I did. Griffin snuggled closer to me. I relaxed in his arms. I fell asleep with the person that I met along time ago and that day was the happiest day of my life. I hope this will never end
