I got out of the car and immediately went to my room. I took out the piece of paper with daltons number on it and put it into my phone. Holding my phone in both hands, I scratched one of my thumb nail on the other as I thought of what to say. "What am I doing?", I thought to myself, shaking my head, "just say 'hey' it's not like I'm asking him to marry me." I quickly typed hey and hit the power button. I laid on the bed, anxiously waiting for his reply. Occasionally my phone would vibrate, but it would just be a YouTube notification. Five minutes seemed like five years. I felt myself drifting to sleep when all of a sudden my phone when off. I shot up and grabbed it, seeing that it was from dalton. I smiled, 'hey there' he said. I replied, 'what's up?', and waited for his response. 'Not much, just laying around,' he said. 'Yea, same here. I had a great day thanks to you,' I scratched my thumb nail against the other. I hit send and waited, biting my lip. 'I can't tell if your being sarcastic or not lol,' he said. 'I'm being serious, you are literally the sweetest person I've ever met,' I said. 'You are too honey,' he said and I almost fell. I know, I know, I'm overreacting but he's so cute and he just called me honey. I sent a smile and our conversation continued over what we liked, things we hated, hobbies and other things. It was until my mom came in, "hey you gonna come eat or what? It's nearly 10 o' clock." I was taken a back when she said the time. "Uhm, yea sure. What did you make?" She huffed slightly, "I didn't but you can." She stared at me then started laughing, "I made lasagne." I got up and went into the kitchen, grabbing me a plate and headed back to my room. I ate the lasagne and set the plate on my dresser and texted dalton, 'good night, handsome,' I said hesitantly. What if he thinks I'm weird or I'm a freak. All these questions run through my head as he texted back: 'good night sweetheart, sleep well.' I smiled and fell back on my bed. This has the be the greatest moment of my life. I slowly drifted off to sleep, only thinking of him.
