Chapter 7: Drums in the Deep
I flinched as we entered the doorway. This was were countless had fallen, when the pale ork attacked.
Gimli was strutting around. "Soon you elves will see the hospitality of the dwarves, roaring fires and meat ripe off the bone!" He blinked. "This is the home of my cousin Balin. And they call this a mine. A mine!"
Boromir gasped. "This is no mine. This is a tomb!" I turned about and froze in horror. Bodies littered the ground. Legolas broke off an arrow. "Goblins!" I draw an arrow. Gimli was searching the bodies and sobbing. I felt sorry for him.
Suddenly I heard a shriek. "Frodo! Mr. Frodo!" I whipped around and saw a tentacle snaked around Frodo's leg.
"No!" I shouted. I launched an arrow past the arm of the squid beast and barely scratched it. Aragorn and Boromir launched into the water while Legolas and I fired arrow after arrow. I stuck on in it's eye and it lurched out of the water. All ten of us raced into the tunnels of Moria. A rockslide blocked the doorway. We couldn't get out that way.

"That was fun." I snapped. We marched to a door. Gimli cried and ran through the archway.
"Gimli!" I raced after him and found a tomb. "Here lies Balin, son of Fundon, lord of Moria." Gimli sobbed.
Suddenly a clank sounded though the mine.
A skeleton fell down the well and I realized that this was Pippen's doing.
"Fool of a Took!" Gandalf snapped. "Throw yourself in next time and save us from your foolishness!"
Pippen wilted and winced as the metal bucket clanked down the well. We all relaxed and Gandalf snatched a book, from a skeleton's hands. I caught only one sentence.
"We cannot get out."
Drums sounded. I tripped over my own feet as I jumped in surprise. Pippen helped me to my feet and I rubbed a gash on my cheek. A thump shook the door and I squeaked. I reached for an arrow with shaking hands. The ground shook as drums pounded in the deep.
