Chapter 10: Grace of... My Great-grandmother?

Boromir helped me up.

"Lily we have to move," he whispered. I shugged and followed the group, lagging behind. Frodo took my and hand and we walked side by side. Neither of us spoke, but we had comfort from our fingers curling around each other's. I knew some one else was there. Aragorn ran ahead in the lead, and Brormir stayed back with us. We finally reached the edge of the forest and my first thought was, 'Wow those are some expensive trees.' Ever leaf looked like it was covered in gold, and the bark was silver. A thought ran through my mind that was not my own.

'Welcome, Lily Hughs. We have been expecting you.' I rubbed my forehead. Was I imagining things? Gimli was warning the hobbits about a Great Elf Witch. He chuckled.

"Well, she won't ensnare this dwarf! I have the eyes of an eagle and the ears of a fox." He was cut short by an arrow in his face. My dagger was out right away, as was Legolas's bow. We were surrounded by fair haired elves, who all had arrows primed to shot our heads off. One of them smugly smiled.

"The dwarf is so loud we could have shot him in the dark." The one who had spoken turned to Frodo and I. "You bring great evil here." He said. I opened my mouth to protest, but Frodo squeezed my hand to keep me quiet. The elf looked at us funny and I glared at him. Who was he to judge us?

The group of elves lead us to a grand tree, up to a platform where a lady and lord stood. The lady stared at me, and I heard her in my head.

'You do not know of our connection yet?' The voice boomed in my head. 'You are my great-granddaughter.' I gulped and Aragorn looked at me. I was silent as our group was lead down to a clearing. We talked a little, until the elves started singing. My eyes filled with tears, for the song was sad. Yes, I know elvish. Sam looked at Legolas and I.

"What do they say about him?" Legolas looked down.

"I have not the heart to tell you, for me the grief is still to near." I nodded in agreement. Sam looked sadder.

"They should have a verse about his fireworks. They explode is showers, gold and green. The finest rockets you've ever seen-oh that doesn't do them justest by a long road." I smiled at Sam's poetry.

"That was nice Sam." He smiled at me.

"What can you say about him?" I thought.

"He welds his staff of power, stronger than a tower. But beneath is the best, and he is now at rest." We all smiled at that. We all finally fell into sleep.
