✿ Roman ✿

We pulled up to the Waffle House and Patton raced up to the door. I following him. I heard the bell above the door make its familiar ring, and I grinned. This place holds so many of my best memories.

Rehearsing lines for a play that the three of us were in. An early morning breakfast during sleepovers. This is where Patton would usually gush over Virgil.

When he first met Virgil, I remember he didn't tell us, in fear of us being angry. He thought we would think he was pushing us away for his new friend. I could never be mad at Patton ever.

I honestly thought they are soulmates, but he assured me they weren't. Simply friends. All I know is, Virgil is the one who introduced Vine to Patton, and Patton couldn't stop quoting them for two months straight.

Patton would sometimes even call him, even if we were all hanging out together. He'd never tell us why a call with him would be urgent. Privacy probably. I'd glance at Patton's phone and see the number, "26," on Patton's phone, and he'd immediately call him. Code word probably.

Logan and I were aware that Virgil had anxiety, but Patton wouldn't tell us how severe it was, or anything else that correlated to his mental health. It wasn't his place to tell us, and we understood completely.

When Patton found out Virgil would be moving here, he couldn't stop squealing for weeks. Honestly, both Logan and I were nervous to meet Virgil. We had a sick feeling he'd be an asshole. He's far from that. He's such a sweet guy.

"Oh hey you three... four? Who's the new kid?" Sadie, the waitress that is usually here every Friday.

"Sadie, meet Virgil! Virgil, this is Sadie," Patton introduced, Virgil awkwardly waved, "Hi."

"Hi, nice to meet you finally! Patton talks about you a lot," Sadie smiled, and Virgil blushed a little, "I've heard a bit about you too."

That made Sadie smile. Of course Patton would talk about Sadie. She's the sweetest human being, right next to Patton. She's actually pansexual, and is dating an enby. Both of them are so sweet, you'd get a cavity just looking at the pictures they take. They are the definition of couple goals.

"I'm guessing you three want your usuals?" Sadie asked, and we all nodded. "Virgil, what would you like?" She asked. He then ordered, and told she told us it'd be right out.

"She's exactly how you described her as," Virgil grinned.

"She's the one that had to deal with us four when we were struggling to come out," Logan said. Virgil's eyes widened, "Bless her for dealing with you three."

"Rude!" I put a hand on my heart offended, and Lo and Pat laughed quietly.

"Offended princey noises," Patton mumbled, and I smacked his arm, making him laugh.

Virgil is laughing, "That's a new one."

"I hate it," I crossed my arms annoyed.

"Well we love it," Logan smirked.

"Shush, Microsoft nerd," I teased.

"Boys, play nice," Sadie told us as she brought our drinks.

"They were teasing me!" I told her.

"Be the bigger person," She stated simply.

"What if I don't wanna?" I asked.

"Then be a dick like the rest of them," She smiled, giggling a little, and walked off.

Pat, Lo, and Virge were laughing now while I was there, still annoyed and offended.

"You need to be more chill," Virgil stated, while taking a sip of his drink.

"Now is not the time for broadway references," I tell him.

"You're one to talk, Mr. There is always a time for Broadway references," Logan shot back.

"He has a point," Patton looked at me, grinning.

"He always has a point," I state simply.

We soon got our food and ate in comfortable silence. I noticed Virgil's free hand on the table. It was like he was playing and imaginary guitar.

"Do you play guitar, Virgil?" I asked.

"A little bit," He admitted.

"Acoustic?" Logan chimed in.

"Yeah," Virgil sheepishly smiled.

"He's great!" Patton praised.

"Pat! I'm not that good," Virgil rubs the back of his neck with his free hand.

"Um, yes you are!" Patton looked at him with a smile on his face.

"So what music do you play?" Logan asked.

"Mostly Panic or Fall Out Boy, but I play love songs on occasion," He told us.

"Wouldn't have pegged you for the last one," I admit.

"He's a sucker for love songs," Patton teases and Virgil blushes, "Shhhh!"

"Don't worry Virgil, I'm a sucker for them too," Logan assured him. Virgil grinned.

"Well everyone knows what I like," I smirk.

"Disney," All three of them answer in unison.

When we were heading to the car, Patton looked at us. "So, Virge and I have been planning to stay the night at my house for the weekend, and we wanted to ask you guys to come."

"I'm down," I grinned.

"I'd like that," Logan smiled.

Patton looked giddy, and Virgil was smiling too. "Then lets do this!" Virge laughed.
