Sky pulled into the hospital and parked at the entrance to the ER. So far it looked like Pam would be on time getting off shift. Dan was progressing well, and he was in the mood to celebrate. The Secret Challenge producers reassured him their win was within the guidelines set out in the contest rules, so their stake for the Alaska business was in the bag.

Now all he had to do was convince Pamela to come up to Juneau with him. Things progressed quickly between them. From the second their eyes met for the first time; he knew. And now Dan was making noises about his surgeon too. Figures.

He tapped his horn twice to get Pam's attention and she jogged up to his truck.

"Hey, handsome." She leaned across to give him a kiss, and continued. "I'm clearing you for the final episode taping in thirteen days. Talked to the producer this morning. Amy is certain Dan will be able to walk by then, and his neurologist is pleased with his progress too. His headaches are only getting bad when he gets too tired."

"Best news ever!" He drew her in for another kiss, and asked his next question. "Have you made a decision?"

"Can you switch cities up in Alaska? Anchorage instead of Juneau?"

"Why?"

"Because Providence has openings for a Chief of Trauma and Orthopedics. I've applied and so has Amy."

"Holy shit! Do you think we can grab some champagne and bring it back to celebrate with them?"

"Amy's off in an hour, so that sounds like a plan. You're sure Anchorage will work for you guys?"

"Hey, special ops guys are always ready to adapt. We haven't settled anything yet. We'll just switch our prime location search."

Her blue eyes sparkled with excitement. "I can't wait for a change of pace. Cross your fingers for me and Amy."

"Don't need to. You two are brilliant. No doubt two or you are a shoe in. They'd be stupid not to snap you up."

"And that's why I love being around you," Amy leaned over one more time to kiss him. "Let's go get that champagne and maybe some sushi to go with it."
