"thank you for driving me back home." the male flashed a smile to his driver.

"well, thank you for saying 'yes' to my date offer." the driver replied immediately. "i truly had a pleasant evening with you, tayeong."

the secretary didn't answer, simply giving his date of the night a thin-lipped smile.

he wasn't going to lie and tell him he had spent an amazing night, because to be completely honest, he hadn't.

the food was okay, but the restaurant was way too crowdy for taeyong's liking, so, they barely could hear each other talking during dinner. and after that, they had attended a small street concert that was taking place next to the restaurant which had given taeyong one of the worse migraines of his life. and when his date had finally proposed to drive him back home, taeyong almost regretted accepting considering his brutal way of driving.

"call me again when you feel like it?" the guy asked after taeyong's absence of answer.

"sure, i will." the korean secretary was quick to answer. "goodbye."

"bye bye."

taeyong got out of the car, slammed its door shut and immediately headed towards the building's entrance, pressing his badge against the captor in a rushed manner to get inside the quickest possible.

this had to be his 40th date since he had re-installed the dating apps he used to be on, and just like the previous 39 ones, it had been a shitty date and taeyong knew that his only thing left to do was to block the guy's number and do as if they had never met.

a lot of time had passed since his accident. 8 months, perhaps 9, taeyong wasn't sure. but all he knew was that his life had taken an unexpected turn, one that frustrated him like nothing ever had before.

he needed to get his mind off things, and by 'things' he meant the cold-hearted asshole named jung jaehyun that had broken his heart and his trust.

after the drama that had happened during world creativity and innovation day, taeyong had found himself thinking that he would never be happy with anyone again. and that was for a very simple reason; he had never been as happy as he was when him and jaehyun were together – even if they were not really together, and even if there weren't really any feelings on jaehyun's side. in simpler words, taeyong had fallen in love, and after getting his heart broken by this very man, he doubted he'd be able to forget about him.

and so, in his attempt to prove himself that he could forget about jaehyun and move on, taeyong had decided to reinstall the dating apps he used to have, and to start dating again.

his feelings for jaehyun had appeared so suddenly in a completely unpredictable manner, so perhaps that such feelings could blossom again with someone else.

but well, after long months and 40 dates, taeyong was sure of one thing: jaehyun was like no one else.

yes, because as much as taeyong hated to admit it, there was no other guy that had the ability to make him blush simply by looking at him, to make him forget about his worries by just talking to him, to make him smile at the slightest things, to enjoy life like every day was his last day on earth, to drive him around for hours without making him sick, and to make his heart beat go mad wherever and whenever.

the korean secretary let out a groan as he walked into his apartment, letting himself fall onto his couch. and of course, he had forgotten about the mail that he had messily thrown there the day before and on which he had just sat.

with an annoyed sigh, he pulled out the few envelopes from under his body and checked who they were from after flattening them to make it seem like they weren't just crushed under his weight.

the first one was an advertisement letter for beauty products, the second an official letter sent by the human resource department of nakamotors – mostly his pay check of the month – and the last one was a plain white envelope on which the words 'to taeyong' had been hand-written.

any person would have been curious about such a letter to be received at the 21st century, but taeyong wasn't. he could recognise this handwriting perfectly; it was the same as the ones he had received each month for the past six months. they were letters from jaehyun.

taeyong's fingers traced over the letters of his name with his fingers, keeping the envelope sealed in his hands to study it a bit longer.

he had no idea what could be written in this letter, and to be honest, he had no idea what was written in the five other letters he had received. all he knew was that they always came into his mailbox the 4th day of each month. and there wasn't even any stamp on those letters, letting taeyong guess that jaehyun was coming to put them in taeyong's mailbox personally.

he had never dared opening them, too scared of what he could read and how his heart could react. he knew that jaehyun still had some sort of hold over him, and after those long months trying to forget about the former ceo, taeyong couldn't throw everything away by reading letters that could make him run back immediately into his arms.

so, he did the same thing he had done with the other five letters.

he walked to the kitchen, opened the cabinet under the sink and pulled out a black shoe box. he opened it, revealing letters, dried flowers and a few hand-written notes. he diverted his eyes from the box quickly when he felt his heartbeat accelerating, placing this month's letter in it before putting the box back where it previously was and closing the cabinet.

there was no way in hell he could throw the letters away, or the notes, or even the flowers. jaehyun had sent them, and he was still too attached to him to just discard what he gifted him without a care in the world.

but the fact he kept all of those souvenirs in a shoebox under his sink meant nothing.

it wasn't as if he still had feelings for the other male.

it wasn't as if he was wondering if jaehyun sent all of this because he returned his feelings.

it wasn't as if he kept a flower of each bouquet because they had been offered by jaehyun.

it wasn't as if he kept the letters closed not to be tempted to read and re-read them.

it wasn't as if he never thought about those notes the other managed to slip to him.

yeah, it wasn't as if he valued all those things jaehyun gifted him, right?

"yuta!" a surprised gasp left sicheng's lips as he was suddenly lifted up by the older male, yuta's hands sneaking under sicheng's thighs to carry him like a toddler.

"hello baby..." the japanese male grinned, rubbing his and sicheng's nose together before leaning forward and pecking the chinese male's lips.

"yuta, we're in your office!" sicheng scolded him, slapping his shoulder lightly.

"keyword here is 'my' darling." yuta chuckled. "no one else except taeyong is allowed there, and i already told you he had an appointment today so he won't be there for a while."

sicheng kept his intense stare on yuta for a while before finally giving in and letting his lips curve up in a beautiful smile.

seeing the change of expression on the chinese male, yuta couldn't help but smile as well and readjust his grip on the chinese male's thighs.

"you look pretty in your orange uniform." the japanese male informed, glancing down at sicheng's nano electronics shirt and shorts.

the chinese male huffed. "i look like a tangerine."

"my little tangerine." yuta grinned. "and the shorts make your butt look nice."

"yuta!" the engineer gasped again, hitting yuta shoulder playfully. "i won't stop working to come and see you ever again if you keep saying such things!" he added, cheeks flaming red.

"oh no, please, don't stop coming! how can i do if you're not around?" the japanese male pouted.

"the same way you were doing before we got together." sicheng replied with a shrug, as if the answer was logical.

"i'd rather keep living like the past seven months." yuta tackled back, making sicheng blush again.

it had been ten months since their unofficial break up, seven months since the had gotten together again, and well, things couldn't get better.

the two of them were in the honeymoon phase of their relationship, that phase when everything the other said or did became the most important thing ever, and when all you wanted to do was be close to the other and have them by your side forever.

actually, they hoped this honeymoon phase would last forever, because they couldn't seem to get enough of each other's presence. and well, this had to be the reason sicheng was there, in yuta's office – and more precisely in yuta's arms – when he was supposed to be intervening on his nth optical fibre of the day.

"i need to leave soon." the chinese male informed, his eyes caching a glimpse of the time on the designer clock fixed to the wall of yuta's office.

"please, stay longer!" yuta pleaded.

"i have work to do, yuta. and you do too." sicheng tsked. "look at all those documents on your desk you have to check out."

the ceo walked over to his office desk, pushing his chair away with his foot before sitting sicheng on his desk right on top of all the documents that were there.

"yuta! what are you doing?!" the chinese male squirmed to get off the work table, trying his best not to tear the papers on which his butt cheeks were resting. however, he was prevented to do so by yuta, who slightly leant over the desk, placing his hands on it beside sicheng's ass and caging the chinese male between the table and his body.

"you're right, there are so many things on my desk that i have to check out." he said huskily, his eyes gazing up and down at sicheng.

inevitably the action caused the electrical engineer to blush.

"you're crazy..." he muttered, lowering his head in shyness.

but yuta didn't let him as he reached for the male's chin with his palm to pull their faces closer. "crazy for you, yes..."

and the next thing sicheng knew, his lips were sealed with yuta's, his eyes closing in pleasure as the japanese male pushed his body against sicheng's.

their mouths moulded against each other's sensually, sicheng's legs slightly spreading apart on the desk to allow yuta to stand in between them. it didn't take long until sicheng's arms were wrapped around yuta's neck, his hands playing with the strands of his hair as yuta's own hands were gripping on sicheng's waist and butt cheeks, crumpling slightly the chinese male's orange uniform.

their kiss intensified, tongues fighting with for dominance, and a soft moan slipped past sicheng's lips as yuta's hand brushed over the bare skin of sicheng's stomach, his cold fingertips cooling the burning skin down.

sicheng pulled his boyfriend closer, squishing yuta's hand that was rubbing his stomach between their bodies, and he left himself melt completely into the kiss, allowing more breathy moans to escape.

and soon, sicheng's hands were finding their way to the buttons of yuta's shirt, fumbling with them to reveal the heated skin of yuta's chest. he struggled to open all of the buttons first of all because he couldn't look at his hands, but also because the japanese male's kisses were so addictive and distracting.

and when sicheng had finally managed to open yuta's shirt fully, his hands slipping under the thin material to trace the curves of the ceo's body and bring them a step closer to having very relieving office sex, a loud gasp was heard, causing the two boyfriends to step away from each other immediately.

"horny bastards..." taeyong tsked, heading directly to his desk to let both males rearrange their clothes.

"your appointment took much less time than expected." yuta pointed out as he fumbled with the buttons of his shirt that sicheng had struggled to open so bad.

"i sent you a text to inform you that it was postponed to tomorrow." taeyong sighed. "but i believe you didn't see it."

sicheng glared at yuta after taeyong's words, recalling how he had asked yuta a couple times whether he was sure taeyong was at his appointment or not, and how yuta had assured him that he had no news of taeyong which meant that he was having his appointment.

"yeah, i may have missed it." yuta shrugged, flashing his secretary a sheepish smile.

the korean male let his eyes roll to the back of his head and he placed a big bouquet on his table, studying it for a while before pulling a flower out of it.

"who are these flowers for?" yuta asked curiously, walking to his secretary's side to stare at the beautiful bouquet. "was one of your dates a success?"

"pff, no..." the korean replied uninterestedly.

yuta snatched the small paper card that was slipped between the flowers before taeyong could get his hands on it, taking steps back immediately to prevent the secretary from taking it back.

"sorry for not putting a letter in your mailbox yesterday, i'm on vacation for a few days, but i'll drop one there as soon as i'm back." yuta read out loud before looking back at taeyong. "what the hell?"

the secretary didn't answer, a small blush creeping to his face as a wave of reassurance took over him.

today was the 5th day of the month, and taeyong had been rather surprised the day before when he had opened his mailbox only to find it empty. jaehyun usually came on the 4th of each month to leave a letter in his mailbox, but there had been nothing the day before – and taeyong had checked multiple times during the day.

his immediate thought had been to believe that jaehyun was finally letting him go, tired of sending taeyong proofs of love that he didn't return back. but now that he had received this bouquet as an apology for not dropping a letter in his mailbox, everything felt much better.

jaehyun hadn't given up on taeyong, and this sole thought was enough to rejoice taeyong.

"it's from jaehyun, isn't it?" sicheng asked timidly.

taeyong gulped, clearing his throat before pushing the bouquet away.

"yeah, probably." he told. "it doesn't matter."

"you're a bad liar, yong." yuta sighed, placing the small card he had read out loud on taeyong's desk.

"i-i don't care about him anymore. i moved on." the korean male assured, his voice slightly trembling.

"you know damn well you didn't." yuta scoffed. "it has been what... ten months? and you're still not over him. you'll probably never be. so, what's the point of continuing to push him away?"

the secretary didn't answer right away, taking a few seconds to think again about how happy jaehyun used to make him months ago.

yuta was right, as much as he hated to admit it, taeyong was still not over him, and judging by how hard he had fallen for the ceo, it didn't seem like he would be able to ever get over him.

"i can't just go back into his arms like that, yuta." taeyong stated. "not after he kept secrets from me."

"we all have secrets, yong. you do too, and i'm sure you kept them from him." yuta explained.

"i did but... but his secrets... they were bad ones. i can't just ignore that."

yuta sighed loudly, his eyes falling on the bouquet of flowers that the former ceo had sent his secretary.

"taeyong, it's been ten months. ten long months." yuta insisted. "and jaehyun is still there, spending money on you to send you flowers, dropping letters in your mail box, and just doing things to prove you his feelings were genuine."

"i know..." taeyong lowered his head.

"what are you waiting for, then?" yuta slightly raised his voice. "we all make mistakes, and i believe that he knows how much he fucked up. don't let his slip between your fingers, or you're going to regret it!"

taeyong stared at his boss for a few seconds, his pupils tembling under the ceo's stare.

sicheng noticed the growing tension and slightly pushed his boyfriend away to approach taeyong.

"what yuta is trying to say is that the fact jaehyun is still trying hard to win you over after 10 months proves that he is genuine with his feelings and that he mostly realised how bad what he intended to do was." the chinese male explained in a much calmer way, somehow making tayeong feel more at ease.

"and so, what should i do?" he asked, looking into sicheng's eyes desperately. "i can't just run back to him as if nothing had happened."

"no, that's for sure." sicheng nodded. "but maybe, showing him a small sign of life could be nice. a little ray of hope to prevent him from abandoning his chase. just enough to make him know you are considering his advances but still need a bit of time."

the secretary stayed silent, simply processing sicheng's words and letting them sink.

he was right, maybe it was time to start giving jaehyun hope, because if the former ceo ever decided to give up and move on from taeyong, the korean male wasn't sure he'd be able to survive that.

"okay..." he mumbled, lifting his head again to look at his boss' boyfriend as the chinese male flashed him a smile. "i'll find a way to let him know."

lips glued to each other's and hands roaming over burning hot bodies.

this was how sicheng and yuta had ended up a second after barging in an empty meeting room at nakamotors. just like every day, we might have to ad.

it seemed like the two of them were still in their first month of dating. this impossible attraction you had towards the other, the constant need to feel your boyfriend close and to touch him everywhere... these were things that were still driving yuta and sicheng crazy despite them going on their 8th month of relationship.

the two boyfriends were impossible, the ceo often disappearing during the day to make out with his boyfriend who seemed to always make sure to pass by nakamotors between his technical inteventions.

and because taeyong was working in the office and mostly didn't want to witness live porn, the two boyfriends had to find themselves conference rooms or janitor's closets where they could continue their unholy activities secretly.

"how long do we have?" sicheng asked between two heated kisses, his voice hoarse because he was out of breath.

"i have a meeting with ilsung in 20 minutes." yuta informed after checking his watch for a very brief second – he couldn't really take his hands off sicheng for much longer.

"oh, this is more than enough." sicheng giggled before diving back on his boyfriend, pressing their bodies together impossibly close as they started kissing passionately again.

it was crazy how bad their attraction for each other was.

they saw each other every day – multiple times that is – and sicheng even stayed the night at yuta's every night, but still, whenever they met up again, it seemed like they were reunited after a few months of long-distance relationship.

but well, everybody had its interretation of 'long-distance'. for some, it was staying on the other side of the world. others could consider that it was being in different countries or in two different cities within a same country. but for sicheng and yuta, the long in 'long-distance' meant a few dozens of kilometres – and it was already too far for them.

breathy moans escaped their lips as they continued kissing, their tongues dancing together between sicheng and yuta's mouths as their hands studied every inch of each other's body.

yuta then moved down to sicheng's neck and collarbones, tugging on the collar of sicheng's orange uniform to have a better access to the smooth skin of his boyfriend as he littered it with open-mouth kisses and bit the flesh from time to time.

sicheng tried holding his moans in, staying as silent as he could, but it was pretty difficult considering how good yuta was at those things.

however, he was forced to slap a hand over his mouth the second he heard the door of the next meeting room opening and then slamming shut.

yuta rolled his eyes at that, wondering why they had chosen this room and not a janitor's closet where he knew no one would come disturb them. but well, he pushed those thoughts aside as he got back to licking every inch of sicheng's skin.

"yuta!" the chinese male whisper-shouted. "stop, someone got in the next room!"

"and?" the ceo pulled away from sicheng' collarbone for a second to ask.

"what do you mean, 'and'?!" sicheng tsked. "he's in the same room as us! the room separator is much thinner than a regular wall and this means that he can hear everything we're saying!"

the ceo glanced to the side at the room separator.

after buying the building to create his headquarters, he had judged interesting to create very large meeting rooms that could be easily split into smaller ones. and so, for that, he had made people install room separators which allowed one single big room to be split into two smaller rooms. but the downside of this was that separators weren't made of cement and weren't as thick as regular walls. so, it was likely that the people on the other side of the separator heard them.

"well, they just should have chosen another room." yuta shrugged after a while before he gave his full attention to sicheng again.

"let's just go somewhere else." sicheng suggested, keeping his voice low not to let the person next room know yuta and him were there.

"no, we were here first." yuta shook his head. "if anyone should leave, it's them."

"come on, stop being a brat and let's just- "

before the chinese male could finish his sentence, he was silence by his boyfriend who had just placed a hand over his mouth and who seemed to be staring into the void, concentrated on something.

"mmh?" sicheng hummed against the boy's hand questioningly.

"listen." yuta spoke barely above a whisper, tapping his finger to his ear to let sicheng know that he was trying to listen to something.

the chinese male obliged, staying silent as he concentrated on what he could hear, soon understanding what had yuta so concentrated.

"no, your son never contacted me ever again, but well, jung corporation is dead now, so i don't see why he would have tried to contact me."

sicheng's eyes slightly widened at the words he heard coming from the other side of the wall, turning his head to look at his boyfriend who seemed in deep thought, trying not to let any detail slip. it seemed like the man was on the phone with jaehyun's father, but he had no clue who this person could be.

"yes, i have an appointment with him in 15 minutes, but i just wanted to check with you the directions the meeting should take."

the two boyfriends continued listening carefully to the man's words. trying to find a way to identify the person that was on the other side of the room separator.

the conversation lasted for a few minutes, neither sicheng nor yuta hearing something else than small hums as the person on the phone did most of the talking for a while.

"okay so, to sum it up, i insist on wanting to invest more in nakamotors to gain power over the business, and then, once i'll have enough shares, we go with our plan and make of world creativity and innovation day nakamoto's last day as a ceo." the person in the room next door declared, making both yuta and sicheng's eyes widen like saucers. "and once that is done, you buy the shares i don't have, and we make it our company. and then, we have our successful business."

yuta stayed frozen on his spot as he listened to the person next door exchanging a few more words with jaehyun's father before hanging up. he didn't move as he heard the door of the other side of the room opening and the caller exiting it.

this is when he rushed to the door and pulled it open slightly, just enough to peek at who had been talking over the phone. and well, his thoughts were confirmed when he recognised ilsung, one of his biggest shareholders, walking away from the room.

he got back inside again and closed the door, facing sicheng who was as shocked as him by what he had just learnt. needless to say, the previous sexual tension that had taken over the room had completely disappeared, leaving behind apprehension and bewilderment.

"w-who was it?" sicheng asked timidly.

"hu ilsung." yuta replied flatly. "the shareholder i have a meeting with right now."

"h-he's the guy that betrayed jaehyun, right? mister hu." sicheng questioned, recalling how panicked jaehyun had been when he had told him how mister hu, his biggest shareholder, had abandoned him right before world creativity and innovation day the year before.

"seems like betraying jaehyun was only the first part of his plan. i'm next on the list." he informed. "and during world creativity and innovation day again. he must have something with that day..."

"but... he was talking to jaehyun's father, wasn't he?"

yuta hummed. "that's what i understood, yeah." he sighed. "so, this means jaehyun was right when he told me his father was an asshole. and he told you the truth when he said that his father had been plotting everything to make him fall."

"of course, he was saying the truth." sicheng insisted, frowning slightly at his boyfriend's words. "you still don't believe him?"

"i do now. that's what is important." yuta replied before letting out another sigh.

he thought for a few seconds, replaying ilsung's words in his head.

world creativity and innovation day was approaching. it was only two weeks from now, and yuta had big plans for that. if the year before he hadn't been able to expose his project properly because of jaehyun sabotaging everything, the former ceo wouldn't be around this year, and so, yuta would be able to go big with his projects and innovations. his speech was already ready, and he had memorised most of it. but well, apparently, he would need to re-think his speech considering the new things he had learnt today.

"i have an idea." the japanese ceo declared.

the engineer raised a brow. "for what?"

"to win against ilsung." yuta explained. "it's risky, but it's worth a try."

"and what- "

sicheng was cut by his phone vibrating in his pocket.

he pulled it out immediately, hoping that it wasn't his boss calling to scold him. but in fact, it was only taeyong who was surely calling because yuta hadn't answered to his calls – he had figured out that compared to the japanese ceo, sicheng did have his ringtone always on, and that he answer to his phone.

"it's taeyong. i'm telling him to come, we need to tell him." the chinese male declared, his thumb reaching for the green button on his phone to accept the call.

but before he could answer, the phone was snatched by the ceo.

"no, don't answer." yuta shook his head, keeping the phone in his hand.

"what do you mean? give me the phone back."

"sicheng." the ceo spoke sternly. "you can't tell him about what we learnt."

"yuta, we can't keep secrets from taeyong. not after everything that happened, and not when his company is being threatened." the engineer spoke clearly, glaring at his boyfriend.

"please, baby. i'll take the blame if anything, but promise me you'll keep that a secret from taeyong."yuta almost pleaded. "you have to trust me on that one."

and well, sicheng couldn't really resist his boyfriend, so all he did was sigh and roll his eyes after a few seconds.

"alright. i won't say anything."

"thank you." yuta smiled brightly, leaning froward quickly to place a peck on his boyfriend's lips. "now, here's what we can do to get revenge on ilsung and jaehyun's father..."
