"Where the hell have you been".

Immediately he asked the question, I started fidgeting and looking down at my feet. I started playing with my fingers nervously. My heart was thumping widely in my chest feeling as though it were about to jump out of my chest.

When did he come home?his car is not in the driveway. I made my way inside the living room, I switched on the light since everywhere was dark and I could not point out where Dave is.

Immediately I switched on the light I saw Dave seated on the couch with a cup of coffee in his hand.

"Woman I asked you a question"Dave demanded snapping me out of my thought while he took a sip of his hot coffee.

I walked a few steps towards the couch to reply to him since his back was facing me.
"I went out for fresh air, "I said while hitting my foot harshly on the floor to reduce the aching I am feeling.
"You went where? and with who?"Dave demanded while taking a sip from his coffee.
"I went on a coffee date with Jamie, I was bored at home so I decide to have a chat with her" I replied while playing with my fingers nervously.

Several questions were running through my head ;
What will his reaction be?
Will he insult me?
Will he slap me?

"Ok, ...but next time inform me first okay if you are planning on going out because I don't want to come back home to find you not at home...you scared the shit out of me, I thought you were kidnapped, "Dave said snapping me out of my thought.

He stood up from the couch and walked straight to the dining table to get his laptop to start his work.

I was still standing where I was because I was speechless.
  Wait seriously am I dreaming...let me pinch my self to confirm. I pinched the soft skin of my hand.
Ouch...I shouted gently not wanting to drive Dave's attention to my silly act.

"Dave can I please speak to you for a moment, "I asked.
"Harriet I'm listening," he said while pressing his laptop.
"Dave your mother came here today"
"Yh, I know she told me she was going to pay you a visit"Dave spoke he didn't even bother to take a look at me.
"She threatened me that if I don't give you a child in the next 3months I will be thrown out of the house," I said while my heart was beating rapidly.

Immediately I said that Dave slammed his laptop angrily and stood up from the couch and walked towards me.
"Harriet don't even bother stressing yourself out because you can never be a mother you are just an empty woman. Ok, so you think I will start having sex with you because of what my mum said "he said while chuckling with no care in his word.
"Just keep on taking care of the house and cooking your tasteless food," he said while patting my back harshly.

Before I could process whatever he said I hear him jog away.

So Dave expects me to be taking care of the house, he is not even bothered about the humiliation I'm receiving from his mother.

My eyes swelled up as I held back my tears eventually a single tear squeezed out of my wild eyes. I cleaned my tears with my bare hands and ascended up the stairs to my
room.

Beep Beep...
I groaned at the sound of my alarm clock beside my bed. Several minutes of struggle with my bed cover I sat up on my queen-sized bed and switched off the alarm. I check the clock and I seriously fell in love with what I saw 6:50.
Thoughts were running through my mind; I just wished Dave could be the way he was a few years ago.

Flashback:
I was taking a shower when I heard the notification sound of my phone which meant I had a message but who could it be.

After I was done with my cold shower, I went to my bedside table to get my phone to see who I got a message from.

Harriet baby please wear something pretty the driver will be there in about 45 minutes to pick you, I want to tell you something important.
  See you in 45 minutes ❤❤
From: Dave baby😩💖

I went to my closet to look for something beautiful to wear. I finally decided on a blue tight sleeveless high neck hollow out which brought out all my curves.

I packed my hair up into a ponytail and made a cute doughnut. I wore black stiletto heels open toe lacy strappy sandals.

45 minutes later the bell rang. When I opened the door, there stood Dave's driver. He greeted me I also greeted him.

He asked me to come with him and gave me a note.
"I can't wait to see your beautiful face"

Immediately I read the first line, I started blushing.
"Harriet honey I know your face is as red as tomato just wait a few minutes more and you will see me"

I went inside the car and the driver took off to the destination. 10 minutes later, the car came to a stop and I got out of the car while holding my purse and the note tightly.

I was at a very beautiful cabin, I got closer to the door of the cabin and twisted the doorknob to the right and walked inside.

The decor was incredible and dazzling, I took a seat at the table and waited for Dave. I was looking at the decor of the house when my eye caught sight of a note.

I stood up from the chair and went to get the note. I opened it.

*Come to the garden at the back of the house *

I walked out of the house, immediately the light of the cabin lit. I found my way to the back of the house which the garden was situated at.

I could not believe what I saw. I caught sight of a beautiful banner which was hung on a pole which had the most amazing sentence on it.
*Will you marry me, baby,❤*

Immediately I read the banner my eyes watered. I turned around to see Dave and shortly he went on one knee.

"Harriet I know this may come as a shock but have been meaning to ask you these words for a very long time but I guess today is the right time, baby ever since I laid my eyes on you in college I knew that moment that you are the perfect lady for me. I want to be with you on every journey and stage of your life. I would also like to spend the rest of my life with you so...Harriet will you marry me and become Mrs Harriet Thomas" he pulled out a black ring box and opened it.

I gasped when I saw the ring it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. I nodded and he placed the ring in my finger gently and lovingly. I jumped up and down excited like a psycho patient and gave Dave a tight bone-crushing hug.

I felt a warm breath on my neck. I turned around lo and behold it was my fiance...that sounds right.

He came close to my ear and whispered"I love you, Mrs Harriet Thomas"
"I love you more Mr Dave Thomas"

He brought me closer and closer if that was even possible and kissed me passionately as if there was no tomorrow.

I got out of my bed and went to the standing mirror to take a good look at myself. My hair was looking hideous like a birds nest my eyes were coated with bags nothing a little bit of makeup can fix.

I went straight to the bathroom to a quick shower. I stripped myself out of my clothes and filled the tub with lukewarm water.

Instantly I got into the tub I felt all my worry disappear, the water was just so...relaxing as soon as I was done showering I covered myself with a towel. I took my brush from the sink cupboard and brushed my teeth.

I wore a floral dress since I was not in the mood for skirt or trouser. I made my hair and arranged my messy closet.

I left the room and descended down the stairs toward the kitchen to prepare breakfast. I headed to the cabinets to bring the pots and pans. I went to the refrigerator to get the ingredients.

I started to cook, I am making bacon, scrambled eggs with pancakes. I used the bacon grease to fry the eggs. I served a portion of the bacon and eggs in a dish and moved over to make the pancakes better.

I fry the pancakes and make them into heart shapes. I put them on a plate, I added the syrup and garnished it by adding blueberries and strawberries.

When I finished I carried all the dishes to the dining table, I set the cutleries and placed the jug of water and orange juice on the table finally breakfast was ready.

I walked straight to the living room to watch some tv since I'm done with all the chores. I went straight to the switch of the tv and turned it on so I could catch on with my favourite shows.

Several minutes, I heard a sound I turned around and saw my husband jogging down the stairs.He walked straight to the dining room not even bothering to take a glance at me.

Dave took a seat at the dining table to have his breakfast when his phone rang.
"Hello"he said to the person at the other side.
"How many times have I warned you not call me when I am at home".
"Nothing must happen to my stuff"Dave said clearly annoyed.
It might be his business associates disturbing him about some deals or losses.
"What!!!" Dave shouted.
"I will be there in the next 10 minutes"He stood up from his seat not even bothering to take a bite out of his breakfast.

He took his briefcase, phone and keys from the table and quickly walked out of the front door.
"Strange"I whispered to myself.

I stood up from the couch to get Dave's breakfast, I can't just allow my sweat to go in vain.
  "If he can't eat it ,I will ".

Sorry for the late update have been busy lately.This is the longest chapter of this book I took my time to write this chapter to make up for the late update.
