✨Chapter 33✨

Even though it wasn't a very long drive over to the clubhouse from Saint Thomas, it was long enough to give Avery time enough to cool down from her altercation with Wendy. With the Limp Bizkit's "Break Stuff" on full blast, Avery screamed the words to the song, letting all of her emotion and anger out.
While the song helped, and she was far from being cool, calm, and collected. The song and the short dive over just allowed her the time she needed to get her head on straight before going to Jax and venting her frustrations and her concerns.
As she got closer to the garage, she turned the music down and willed the last littl elit of initial agner to leave her. Turning her car onto the lot of the club house, she parked her car beside Gemma's cadillac and switched off the engine before walking towards the garage where Jax was working on a bike. As she walked across the lot, a couple fo teh guys whisted at her, amking her mood just a little more better.

"Working hard or hardly working?" asked Avery as he stepped into the garage and over toward Jax.

"Little of both." said Jax as she stood and walked over to Avery and gave her a quick kiss. "How did it go?"

"Dont ask. She was a total bitch about it. She even though our relationship in my face." said Avery.

As soon as she told Jax about Wendys indirect threats, she regretted it. She watched as rage boiled just below the surface, threatening to escape.

"Oh she did?" asked Jax minacingly.

"Yeah, but she isn't worng, if she decided to take this to court, the judge would kick me off your case because of our relationship. It would be a huge conflict of interest" explained Avery.

"I dont give a fuck about a goddamn conflict of interest. When I talked to her, I made it gaddamned clear that she better sign those fucking papers and that she would regret taking this to court if she decidced to go that route." said Jax, thowing down the red shop rag he had used to wipe his hands. "Im heading over there now to make this right."
Avery would be lying if she said that this side of jax was frightening. When they were teens, jax was known for having a quick temper but she had never seen him react like this. Then again, the jax she knew as a teenager didnt have a son that almost dies twice because of the person causing him to lose his cool right now.

Knowing that she had to do something to diffuse the situation, Avery stepped into Jax's path, effectively keeping him from exiting the shop.

"Jax, listen to me. She didnt say she would sign. She was just trying to get a rise out of me. It took everything in me not to lose my cool with her." said Avery, trying to placate Jax and calm him before he lost his cool and really did need her legal services.

"Vee, she needs to fully comprehend that I am not to be fucked with on this. And neither are you. Abel and you are everything to me. I"m not the tyoe to put hands on a woman but if it comes down to it, I will do whatever the fuck I have to to protect those that mean the most to me." said Jax, barley holding in his anger.

"I know. Believe me, I do. But you can't go over there right now as pissed as you are and expect anything good to come out of this. Wendy isn't dumb Jax. She knew that if she threatened me like she did that I would tell you, and then you'd come running, trying to defend my honor which would just give her leverage to use against you.

I was just too stupid to realize that I was falling right into the trap she was setting" said Avery as she palmed jaxs cheeks in her hand, pulling hios face down so that he was looking her in the eyes.

"Shit, You're right." said Jax after a few moments, his anger seeming to subside.

"I know I am." said Avery as she stood on her tip toes and placed a gentle kiss on his lips.

"I'm still going to talk to her tonight though. Dont worry, I'll take dad or Chibs with me."

"That's a good idea. Someone will need to witness her signing those documents anyway. Just as well be someone that you trust." said Avery.

"Oh, I'd much rather you be there with me but that probably not the smartest idea." said Jax.

"No, it's definitely not." said Avery.

"What are you doing when you leave here? Heading over to the house?" asked Jax.

"Most likely. But I need to change first. I dont think unpacking and moving would be too fun in heels and a skirt." said Avery.

"No, I dont think it would. But you would look so fucking sexy doing it." said Jax, wrapping his arm around her waist and pulling her tightly against him.

"Imagine me in unpacking in just shorts and a tank... no bra, no panties." said Avery, knowing that Jax would now be thinking og her state of undress rather than his upcoming visit with his soon to be ex wife.

"Oh I can imagine it. And I can see it happening some time in the near future." said Jax.

"If your lucky, we might can make that happen tonight. We can order pizza and eat it by candle light, get a twelve pack, and begin on christening those room as you promised" said Avery.

"Youre going to be the death of me woman" said Jax.

"But youd go out satisfied" said Avery resting her hands on Jax's chest and smiling up at him. "But for real, I'm  just goving you a little something to look forward to so you don't lose your cool with Wendy" said Avery.

"I know. Anway, i need to finish up the exhaust on this bike today. Meet you at the house in a few hours?" said Jax.

"Yeah, call me when youre headed over and I'll call in a pizza. Ill get one of dad's coolers and put some beer on ice for us when I go home to change."

"I can do that." said Jax.

"Okay. get back at it and I'll see you later." said Avery as she once again stood on her tip toes and placed a kiss on Jax's lips, that he immediately turned into something much deeper. When he finally broke the kiss, Avery was dizzy and turned on as hell.

"I love you." said Jax as he released her.

"I love you too.' said Avery. "Hurry home. I'll be waiting."
