Stolen Love

✯✫Stolen Love✫✯

Once there lived a shoemaker
With a wife and seven kids
They lived in the greatest poverty
In seven shoes with seven lids
The shoemaker and his wife
Had their little own boot
In their little town of shoes
Safe from harm and pollute

One day through the cracks
Of the shoemaker's home
A trio of tiny elves
Became free to roam
They looked about the shoe
As impressed as can be
And said, "Oh, I want one
For Me!"
"For me!"
"And me!"

So the three little elves
Hid behind a smaller shoe
And waited for the maker
To go and use the loo
Once the man was gone
The crawled out of their places
And took the shoemaker's boot
And lifted it by the laces

Up, the boot did soar
Furniture and all
The elves cackled and giggled
And yelled, "Hope we don't fall!"
And meanwhile below,
The shoemaker began to cry
As all he'd ever worked for
Upped and left him behind.

But the elves weren't finished yet
No, they needed more
So the parked the boot in a tree
And went to the shoemaker's store
Here slept his poor wife
Now homeless as can be
And the elves marveled and said,
"We need her for we three!"

So they looked at the pretty woman
And made sure she was asleep
And gagged her mouth with cloth
So she wouldn't make a peep
Then the looked about for the shoemaker
To make certain he wasn't there
And they each grabbed onto his wife
And lifted her by the hair

Up, the woman soared
Eyes blinking, wide awake
She tried to call for help
But not a sound could she make
Meanwhile, the poor shoemaker
Was brought again to tears
As he called up to the sky
"Come back, come back, my dear!"

But the elves still weren't finished
They were far from satisfied
So they took the boot
For a little thief joyride
They watched the shoemaker's children
His seven daughters and sons
They looked at one another and said,
"Why, we could use these ones."

So they gathered up the children
With a rowdy little song
They tapped their feet and danced
Until the children sang along
Then looking left and right,
They took the children by the hands
And lifted them away
From the shoemaker's land

Up, the children soared
Screaming in delight and fear
Trying to let go
As the moon was drawing near
And still left on the ground
The shoemaker began to weep
Knowing he couldn't get them back
He delved into his sorrow, deep

"Why?" He yelled above
"Why have you stolen my life?
Why have you taken my home
Why have you taken my wife?
Why have you stolen my children?
And my very dignity?'
Why have you taken everything
That is dear to me?

"Am I not worthy of
Love and life and posterity?
Should I delve in loneliness
And fear and dexterity?
I'll tell you something, elves
And I'll tell it only twice:
If you wish to take my life from me
Then you shall pay the price.

"If you wish to take my life from me
Then you shall pay the price."
