Idle Hands
✯✫Idle Hands (Part I)✫✯
Idle hands do evil things
Evil fingers wear evil rings
As did a princess called Briar-Rose
She liked to wear gold and fancy clothes
She was sharp with an
Expensive taste
And she had a plan
And beauty and grace
She knew a man
Who made deals for the devil
She told him her plan
And he said "Be careful. If he gets you
This I know
He can't be trusted to
Let you go."
But she was alight
With hopes and excitement
So she smiled with spite
And could not be frightened
She bounced back to the castle
With the body she'd sold
For she had saddled
A future of gold
When the devil arrived
To collect his due
The girl was surprised
To see his red hue
And his bull horns
And his spiked tail
And a gaze that warned
Against this trail
But it was too late
He didn't come inside
He looked at her face
And said, "You are my bride."
When she didn't respond,
He looked up and down
Looked at her hair, blonde
And looked at her frown
He held out his hand
Like a gentleman would
And she took his hand
Like a proper lady should
And when he didn't move
She looked up and down
Looked at his hooves
And looked at his eyes, brown
He had a light touch
And thin red hands
She couldn't believe they clutched
The souls of the damned
With the same fingers
That now held her hand
But this did not hinder
Her quest for the grand
So he took her to Hell
In the rowboat on Styx
He told her, "Don't mind the smell
You'll get used to it quick
It's just the scent
Of the burning inferno
As we begin our descent
We may pass the show."
The princess looked on
With horror as fire
Around her spawned
And began to climb higher
She could hear the screams
Of the murdered and strafed
But for now it seemed
That the princess was safe
He took her down
To his private lair
She straightened her crown
And followed him there
All around was fire
And shouts and screams
Poor Princess Briar
Felt tears come in streams
She listen to the doors
Behind her close
She felt like a corpse
And Briar Rose
She looked at her hands
Adorned with rings
She thought of her plan
And kept going
The devil's lair
Was cozy and red
He had a scarlet armchair
And a fluffy gold bed
The princess took it in
All wonder and awe
She could hardly begin
To believe what she saw
And on that night
Her first night with the devil
He turned off the light
And the girl began to tremble
The devil just sighed
And said, "Don't be scared
You will be my bride
But I won't touch a hair."
"I was simply lonely,"
The devil went on
People here treat me coldly,"
He paused for a yawn
"I'm not seeking pleasure
And I don't want to hurt you
You are a perfect treasure
I don't mean to disconcert you."
The Princess was relieved
So relieved by this news
She felt awfully fatigued
So she laid down and snoozed
And she woke up
With the devil's arms around her
But she hadn't had enough
So she let him hold her
In the coming days
The princess became sold
That love just may
Be better than gold
She and the devil
They walked hand in hand
Together and level
Through the devil's badlands
So very soon after
The two were wed
They ran off from the pastor
And he took her to bed
The Princess felt happy
And thoroughly and love
Though things were less sappy
For her parents above
The king and the queen
Were angry as hell
And they caused quite a scene
And queen began to yell:
"We will get that girl
This search is dire
We will make the traitor unfurl
And shove her into the fire."
