Part 18

Khushi is walking on the road lost in her thoughts. Her mother's confession made her to more than shock. All these days she was in a dilusion that Dhruv is a good person. She remembered Payal's loathful face when she asked about Dhruv. She can't understand what is the truth and what is not ?? She then heard temple bells and looked at the Devimayya's mandir infront of her.

She went into it without much thinking. She stood infront of idol folding her hands in prayer.

"Devimayya. From childhood I believed you and worshipped you a lot. I can't understand what is right and what is wrong ?? I can't even understand what is going around me. Plz help to get out of this. Made me realize who is right and who is wrong before it's too late. If I am wrong in estimating people then I am ready to pay for my deeds" Prayed Khushi whole heartedly and went back to RM leaving everything on the shoulders of her best friend.

When she reached RM, it is already lunch time. So Nani, Anjali, Mami and Payal are at the dining table.

"Khushi Bitiya. You returned so soon. I thought you will be in your amma's house whole day" asked Nani.

"No Nani. Amma is going out to the market to help neighbour in choosing jewellary. So I came back" lied Khushi.

"Ok. Come and have food" said Nani.

'No Nani. I am not feeling hungry" said Khushi and went to her room. She laid on the bed pondering over her mother's words. She never expected Dhruv would have forced her parents their house and shop when she very well explained him how much her parents meant to her. she soon dozed off with these thoughts.

It was in the evening Khushi woke up. She mentally cursing herself went downstairs. Whole family is having their evening tea except Arnav and Shyam. She too went and joined them. Just then Akash entered the house.

"Akash. where is Chote ??"asked Nani.

"Nani. There are some projects which need to be finished. Bhai is looking over them. I said I too will stay but he insisted and send me" said Akash.

"OK. Chote is always like this..office office. When will he return ??" said Anjali.

" Bhai will return by Dinner time Di" said Akash and went upstairs to freshup.

Dinner time:

Khushi and HP are arranging everything on the table. Payal went to call everyone for dinner. Just then Arnav entered the house all exhausted. He handed over his Laptop and jacket to JP.

"Arnavji. Dinner is ready. Come fast" said Payal.

Arnav nodded smiling and went upstairs.

Everyone came at the dining hall even Arnav. Khushi observed Arnav who din't even spared a look at her. He silently took his seat and started eating.

When almost everyone completed their dinner, Arnav said" Nani, Di. I am going to New York tomorrow morning"

All looked at him surprised.

" Chote. you are going tomorrow and now you are saying about it." asked Anjali.

"I was busy in the office Di" said Arnav.

"How many days is the trip ??"asked Nani.

"Three days Nani" said Arnav.

"Only three days" asked Mami.

"Actually I am not going on business trip. I am going to attend Lavanya's marriage. All my friends are coming there. We will have a reunion" said Arnav.

"Then why don't you take Khushi with you ?? she too will know your friends" said Mami.

Arnav grunted himself while Khushi stood thinking. This is the best chance to know about him and Lavanya thought Khushi.

"Yes chote. Why don't you take Khushiji with you ??"asked Anjali.

"I don't have any problem to take her with me if she doesn't have any objection" said Arnav thinking confidently that she would deny making any lame excuse.

"Khushiji. why don't you go with Chote ?? Do you have any problem ?"asked Anjali.

"No Di. What problem I will have to go with Arnavji ??"said Khushi shocking Arnav.

"Ok then. Chote take Khushiji too with you. She too will meet your friends. " said Anjali.

"Ok Di" said Arnav not having any another way. But still wondering why she accepted to come with him.

"Chote. Ask Aman to book tickets for Khushi bitiya too" said Nani.

"Ji" said Arnav.

Everyone left to their rooms after completing dinner while Khushi and Payal cleaned the kitchen. Khushi tried to initiate a talk between them but Payal replied in monosyllabic answers.

When Khushi reached their room, Arnav completed his packing. He is talking with Aman regarding her tickets and finalized.

"Your tickets are booked. Get ready by 8.30 am. We need to leave for airport" said Arnav without looking at her.

Khushi just hmmed. Arnav is going towards poolside when Khushi said" Thank you"

Arnav stood still not looking at her and asked" Why ??"

"For helping my parents. " said Khushi. Arnav din't say anything.

"Why ??"asked Khushi.

"Because I know the value of parents" said Arnav and went from there leaving a guilty Khushi behind. Here he is doing soo much for her parents even though she said she hates him but what did she do ?? She suspected her own parents. She felt disgusted of herself.

Khushi soon took out her phone and called to her house. Shashi lifted the phone.

"Papa" said Khushi with trembling voice. Shashi din't say anything.

"Papa. I am sorry. I din't mean to hurt you and Amma. I always believe you both. You will do everything for my happiness. But I was just shocked to know the truth. I am sorry." Said Khushi crying.

"Khushi. shhh. Don't cry. It's ok" said Shashi.

"Amma " said Khushi.

"She is a upset now. I will talk to her. Don't worry" said Shashi.

"Ok Papa. Good Night" said Khushi.

"Good Night beta. Take care" said Shashi and disconnected the call.

Khushi felt a bit relief after talking with her father. She too packed her luggage for journey and drifted to sleep on the bed.
