-Chapter Fifteen-
Above is Katrina's mark.

"Will you hold still? I'm almost done." Adrienne mumbles around the bobby pin in between her lips, styling my hair into an updo as she's been doing for the past hour. I've already put on my dress, and she claims that the makeup isn't going to be much other than lipstick, and eye makeup.
"Fine, just hurry up. I don't like sitting still for this long."
Our trip to Paris went as expected, flying first class was an experience, and we are currently in Adri's room at the hotel. Adrienne came with us to do my outfit correctly, and had taken a separate room to give me and Seth privacy. But, considering she wants my mate to be completely shocked by my look, she drug me to her room so he couldn't peek.
Three more bobby pins later, she circles around me, slightly adjusting parts before she stops and stares with an ecstatic grin on her face.
"It's perfect! Now for the final touch before makeup."
She pulls out what looks like hairspray and I immediately close my eyes before she sprays a healthy dose of it on her creation atop my head.
"Okay, keep your eyes closed, I'm going to do your eyes next."
I keep still as she brushes eyeshadow on my lids and mascara on my lashes, and then open them so she can apply eyeliner and another coat of mascara. She then pulls out a tube of my lipstick, painting my lips with the wine red color. Spreading it evenly, she lets me up and takes me to the bathroom mirror...and I just stare in shock at my reflection.
"Bellissimo!" Adrienne exclaims, kissing her fingers. I'm too stunned to tell her that's Italian not French.
My goddess I look like an entirely different person...I barely recognize myself in the mirror.
"What do you think?"
I blink a couple of times before smiling, and her smile gets wider.
"That you could be a professional hair stylist and fashionista. You make a scrappy warrior look good."
"Honey, you are a Luna, you already look good. All I did was add some embellishments."
She reaches beside me and grabs some bracelets and silver colored arm cuff. Carefully sliding them all over my manicured white tipped nails that match my toes. She puts the bracelets over my tattooed arm and pushes the arm cuff up to the middle of the blank one.
The dress shows of both my warrior tattoo and my mark, which are an added plus. And since they are the main focus, I'm not wearing any necklaces. Though I do have some clip on earrings.
"And truthfully...I've always wanted to be a pack doctor..."
I look to her in surprise, her expression clouded with an unknown emotion.
"You do?" I ask, a little baffled.
"Yeah...in the two years before we left the pack, I actually completed my certification to be an assistant..."
"Adrienne, why didn't you tell me?"
"Because you were going through a lot, and I figured I could be a pack doctor in any pack...I still have the documentation..."
A bit of sadness washes through me, and I pull my little sister into a hug.
"When we go home, you are telling Seth and starting as an assistant...understand?"
"Yes ma'am." She giggles, wiping a tear from her eye.
"Thank goddess this is smudge and water proof, or I'd be a raccoon."
We both laugh before she nudges me out of the bathroom.
"I need to put on my dress, give me five minutes and then we'll go downstairs and watch Seth loose his mind."
Her time is actually accurate considering she's already done her hair and make up before starting on me. I put on the black heels I bought while I wait, practicing walking in them some more even though I've already broke them in. The last thing I need is to face-plant in front of hundreds of Alphas and Lunas because of these things.
Adrienne comes out in a light blue, satin dress with a halter top that really compliments her skin and makes her hair look even brighter. She puts on a pair of nude stilettos and some metal bracelets before grabbing her clutch.
"All right, lets drop some jaws, I'm going first."
She walks ahead of me and opens the door, looking out to see if he actually went downstairs like he said he would, to wait with the few warriors brought with us. Seeing the coast is clear, I follow behind her to go downstairs by elevator. She wanted to be dramatic by going down to the last floor by stairs, saying something about strutting down making it better.
"Alright lover boy, I present to you Luna Katrina."
As I descend the last flight of stairs, I look down to see Seth's awestruck face, his eyes gliding over me as I walk towards him. I take in his attire, the three piece black suit with a vest and red tie. The hairstyle I gave him slicked back with hair gel, and his Alpha pendant shining warmly against the black shirt.
"You look absolutely stunning, Angel." He murmurs as I reach him, grabbing my hand to kiss the back of it.
"You're quite handsome yourself."
He flashes that familiar smirk, pressing a soft kiss to my mouth.
"But you look best, I almost want to keep you to myself tonight..." I laugh, as well as him. And we proceed to the Summit by car, arriving at the exquisite building it's being held in. I take a few deep breaths, and Seth grabs my hand, squeezing it reassuringly. He can feel my nervousness no doubt.
~You'll be perfect my love, just relax. I'll be right by your side.~
I take one more deep breath before getting out, entering the large doorway by his side, hoping to the goddess I don't embarrass myself.

The sounds of quiet conversation are muted by the piano and violin, the music elegant and harmonious as me and Seth dance in the center of the ballroom. I'm not that much of a dancer, but he's teaching me a few steps as we go...but mostly we just sway or spin in lazy circles while I stand on his toes.
We ended up meeting a lot of Alphas and Luna's in the past few hours, even running into Alpha Alex and the Royal Pair. Adrienne has wandered off somewhere, no doubt chatting up the single Alphas and warriors if not checking out the food. I just hope she isn't drinking...but other than that I'm more focused on being in Seth's arms under the soft lights, listening to his heartbeat as we dance.
"Don't fall asleep on me now Angel." Seth murmurs.
"I'm not, just enjoying the moment." I reply softly.
"Good, I'm very happy to hear that my love."
He pulls my chin up to kiss me, his lips lingering on mine as he pulls me closer. I sigh and melt into his touch, Ziva purring with content.
"There you two are!"
The sound of Adrienne's happy voice startles us, and we both sigh and shake our heads. Interrupted yet again.
She begins to walk up to us, only to halt mid-step, raising her nose upwards as she inhales deeply.
"Adrienne, what is it?" I ask curiously, a bit concerned.
"Mate." She says, distracted by her search.
I stare wide eyed at her, a smile on my face as I watch my sister search for her love. I can't believe it, her mate is here...oh my goddess! My sister finally found her mate!
"Mate." Another voice rumbles, this one deep and masculine. A heavy accent in it as well.
All three of us turn to the voice, and are met with a tall man with steel blue eyes, his dark hair and tanned skin contrasting with them boldly. Adrienne flits towards him, and he immediately circles his arm around her, his other hand cupping her cheek affectionately.
"My name is Ezekiel, from Israel. What is your name my beautiful mate?" He asks.
"Adrienne...from America, I'm so happy to finally meet you." She responds, her voice a bit dreamy.
"I'm very happy to have found you as well, Adrienne. I have been looking for you for a very long time."
Me and Seth look at each other and grin before looking back at the happy couple.
"It seems I will have to tell my father I'm moving to America, it will break my mothers heart."
"Wait, aren't you an Alpha? Only because you'd have to stay in Israel if..."
"No my dear, my eldest brother is Alpha. I'm the youngest of five sons. So I can live with you in your home, do not fret."
Seth pulls me to the side with a bit of difficulty, and I reluctantly follow him away from my lovestruck sister and her distinguished mate. We make our way to a balcony, Seth locking the glass doors from the outside as we exit. I lean against the balcony rails as I stare out over the city, the bright lights both above and below, the lit Eiffel Tower a centerpiece to it all. Seth arms curl around my waist as he hugs me from behind, his chin resting on my shoulder as he plants a kiss on my jaw.
"Beautiful isn't it?" I ask softly, his mouth moving to my neck.
"Yes, you are." He mumbles against my skin, and I laugh at the cheesy line.
"I was talking about the view."
"And I was referring to you, the view doesn't compare."
I roll my eyes at his cheesiness, and his lips brush over my mark.
"You're getting cheesier by the minute, Mr. Alpha."
"Blame it on the city, it brings out the romantic in me." He replies while skimming his fingers down my sides.
"More like brings out the bad one liners in you." I chuckle.
The soft sound of the music continuing to play is the only response I get, and I brush my fingers over his hands, the sparks flaring up again.
"Finally, we are alone. No interruptions."
Seth says after a few minutes, and I turn in his grasp to face him, a devious smile on my face.
"Maybe...there is the chance someone could parachute down, the birds might fly up here, somebody could climb up-"
He hurriedly presses a finger to my mouth, and I grin underneath it.
"Don't jinx it woman, just go with it."
He replaces his finger with his mouth, and my chuckle is cut off. I lean into the kiss, picking up where we left off before Adri interrupted us, his hands drifting to my lower back as he pulls me flush against his chest.
He moves down my neck, kisses lingering over the exposed skin of my shoulders. I let my hands wander upwards to his neck, tracing his mark through the fabric as he kisses mine.
"I really do love this dress."
He murmurs, his nose skimming up and down my neck in a slow pattern.
"Because it shows off your mark on me, or because I look good in it?"
"Both, definitely both."
He goes back to kissing my lips, and I let the world tune out around me, allowing myself to enjoy the city of lights and romance as I am held in the arms of my mate. Relishing in each other's presence and the fact that we are now alone at last...
That is, until Seth gets a phone call from Beta Tyron, and we laugh and shake our heads once again after Seth curses our luck. Some things never change I suppose, and I hope they never do.
