Jessie woke up to see Sakura nuzzle against her chest and smile softly.

"Oh, Sakura being here brings back so many memories," Jessie sighed.

"Skitty," Sakura said, gently licking Jessie's face.

"Hm," Jessie questioned.

"She wants to know if you're okay," Meowth replied, yawning as he woke up.

"Oh yeah, just thinking we better start getting up. We have Pikachu to catch," Jessie said, sitting up against a tree.

"Right, i'm up," James said, waking up as well.

"Sakura, why don't you continue sleeping in your Pokeball," Jessie pulled out Sakura's Pokeball.

"Skit," Salura said, shaking her head.

"What the matter? Don't you want to rest in your Pokeball?" Jessie asked.

"Looks to mean she wants to stay out," James stated.

"That right, Jimmy? She doesn't want to sit in her Pokeball, not when her human partner needs her," Meowth said.

"Sakura," Jessie said, looking at the Pokeball.

"You know, maybe you should let her stay out," James said."You have been acting strange since we got here and mentioned she has always been there for you instead of keeping her hidden away for whatever reason and letting her stay beside you, at least for today."

Jessie looked at Sakura for a moment before putting away the Pokeball."Alright, Sakura, you win. Maybe I have been wrong to keep you away," She said, picking up Sakura, her precious Skitty.

"I still wonder why you choose to do that," James commented.

"Same here, Jess."

"I have my reasons," Jessie said, not bothering to look at James or Meowth as they started walking.

Meowth and James glanced at Jessie. Wondering happened to her back in Hoenn?

Sakura looked at Jessie, concerned, knowing that Jessie was still suffering from the past during their travels together.

'I'm here for you, Jessica, and won't leave your side, not when you need me the most.' Sakura thought, looking up at Jessie, who was holding her.

It had been several hours since Jessie, James, and Meowth started looking for the twerp and twerpette. The sun had gone completely down, and it was now night.

The trio and Sakura were inside of. A red phone booth is talking on the phone. Sakura was comfortable on Jessie's shoulder as the three were huddled close to the phone.

"What? You're in the Hoenn Region?" Giovanni's question is on the other side of the phone.

"That's right, still hot on the trail of the rare Pikachu so that one day soon, that Pikachu will be all yours," Jessie said.

"And now that we've tracked them down, were ever close to the capture," James stated.

"Cause when it comes to the honor of Team Rocket, there's nothing we wouldn't do for ya," Meowth said.

"Well, since you've taken the liberty of calling me on my private line," Giovanni said."I'm assuming that you have some good news, yes?" He asked.

Sakura shook her head as the trio sweated nervously.

"Well, the thing is..." Jessie started.

"Good detective work doesn't come cheap, so our cash reserves are a bit low," James said.

"Could we get an advance?" Meowth asked.

"No!"

Jessie, James, and Meowth gasped with wide eyes.

"You'll receive no more funds!"

"Skit," Sakura said, licking Jessie's face as they sighed.

"However, I do have an opportunity for you three."

"Opportunity?" They asked simultaneously.

"Although Team Rocket operates internationally, we haven't been able to set up operations in the Hoenn region. So if you three can accomplish this, that's when we will talk money."

"We're going to start a branch office?" They questioned at the same time.

"A direct order from the boss himself," Jessie said, taking Sakura off the shoulder and hugging her."To achieve true greatest."

"He's practically saying we're next in line to take over control of Team Rocket," James said.

"All those long, harsh years of struggling were worth it because..."

"Yippee! We've got a promotion. Yeah!" They cheered happily.

"Wobbuffet!"

"Skitty," Sakura said, joining in their excitement even if she didn't see the point.

Sakura was helping to dig a large hole with Woobuffet. As Meowth and James, we're holding their shovels.

"Yim! Something smells really good," Meowth commented.

"Spaghetti and meatballs with garlic breadsticks on the side," James said.

"Snap out of it," Jessie commanded.

"Hmm," Jessie and Meowth both said.

"Work on being a good thief, not a restaurant critic," Jessie said, looking at them as Sakura walked towards her, nuzzling her leg.

"Oh, yes. Right," James said.

"Soon as we set up a Team Rocket shop kn the Hoenn Region, we're number one," Meowth said.

"Skitty," Sakura said, looking at Meowth.

"Of course, you don't understand why it matters. You just job us Cutely," Meowth replied.

"Surely?" James questioned.

"If my bestie is okay with that nickname, then I won't question it," Jessie said as Sakura didn't bother reacting negatively to Meowth's nickname for her.

"Uh, but just a minute; since we're the only members in Hoenn, aren't we already number one?" James asked.

"Hell! Slick thinking, James," Meowth said, smiling.

"If you two lazy good for nothings take that sort of attitude, Butch and Cassidy will slide in the end and take over," Jessie said, getting up in Meowth and James' faces. "My bestie has been more at work than you two!" She snapped, seeing Sakura using Iron Tail to keep digging.

"Jessie, right. Those no good crooks and cutely new and has been helping a lot already desire not understanding the importance of this," Meowth said.

"You're so good at with those morale-building pep talks and seem to be in better spirits since you agreed to keep Sakura out," James said.

Jessie smiled softly and looked at Sakura."Yeah, she always had a way of cheering me up or simply getting my mind off of things."

"A shovel here and a shovel there." They started singing as they continued to dig a tunnel underground.

"Skitty," Sakura said happily as she continued to help as well, and she was happy Jessie was doing a bit better now.

Finally, after a while, they reached the top above ground.

"Tunnel complete! Huh?" They said, seeing that they were outside of the Pokemon Center.

"Okay, so I was off by a bit," Meowth said.

"Skit," Sakura cried out as she turned to the sound of an angry growl along with the trio and saw an angry Houndoom.

"You mind telling me what you're doing here?" One of the people in a red hoodie said.

"We're doing whatever we want," Jessie said.

"You're looking at this region too, Team Rocketers," James replied.

"Prepare for trouble and make it double and all that jazz," Meowth stated.

"Go, Arbok!" Jessie said, sending out Arbok.

"Weezing you too."

Houndoom roared, sending Arbok and Weezing back into their pokeballs.

"We took a wrong turn," Jessie said, looking nervously and grabbing Sakura.

"Bye now," James said as they quickly with back down the tunnel.

After getting out of there, Jessie, James, and Meowth were behind a rock, with Sakura lying down in a ball next to Jessie.

"Prepare for trouble."

"Make it a very silent double."

"That's right."

"Skitty," Sakura questioned, looking at her trainer and two new friends holding up four little gems.

"Wobbuffet!"

"Huh?"

"Ahh!" The trio said.

"You guys," Ash shouted.

"Rats seem like we have been discovered," Jessie commented.

"Hey, you guys give back those treasures!" The researcher in a yellow shirt commanded.

"Arbok, go!" Jessie shouted, sending ou Arbok as Sakura climbed onto her shoulder.

"Skitty," Sakura cried out.

"Huh, who is that Pokemon?" Ash questioned, looking at Sakura."Pikachu Quick Attack and stay on guard in case there new Pokemon attacks as well."

"Pika!" Pikachu cried out as he slammed into Arbok, sending him flying into Team Rocket.

"Pikachu Thunderbolt!"

Pikachu releases a mighty thunderbolt sending them blasting off.

"Team Rocket blasting off again!"

"Skitty!"

"I agree, Jessie. Why didn't you let Cutely have a go at battling?" Meowth asked.

"Next time, it has been a while since we battled together against a oppent and I  didn't want to make join in too soon," Jessie said as she James and Meowth landed on the ground after another failure to capture Pikachu.

I hope you all enjoy the new chapter of My Reborn as a Pokemon fanfiction. Ash and May meet Sakura for the first time but don't have a chance to learn her attacks before blasting off Team Rocket. Sakura also gets to bond with James and Meowth slightly. However, next time Sakura will get a chance to shine. Let me know what you think of the story in the comments. I was thinking about doing an with the character reborn as Chamander or Nidoran next, but I haven't decided on a region or who the trainer should be yet.
